Lame

Great taste

Haven't seen it

Contrarian

Best: Goodfellas
Worst: New York, New York
Most Misunderstood: Taxi Driver
Most Overrated: Raging Bull
Most Underrated: The Aviator
My Fave: Goodfellas
Wife's Boyfriend's Cousin's Daughter's Fave: Wolf of Wallstreet

His most overrated: The Departed or Mean Streets
Your fav: Goodfellas
Your wife's boyfriend's fav: The Aviator

only a moron would think that. Casino is better than Goodfellas. The discussion has happened many times here, if you'd have known, and everytime there are reasons for why Casino is brilliant with the Goodfellas-sympathisers just saying 'well casino is just goodfellas but longer and has annoyed woman'. literally the plebbest reason for why casino is bad

>Wife's Boyfriend's Cousin's Daughter's Fave

Taxi Driver is one of the most important films of last century. You don't know what your talking about kid

Taxi Driver is the best movie I've ever seen. I've watched it 7 times and each time I notice something new. It's a timeless masterpiece and if anything it's underrated.

What a shitty taste

>casino is better because me and my contrarian friends said so

yeah nah

what a narrow minded idiot you are

First off, you're not even a pleb, you're a moron
Second,
Best: Taxi Driver
Worst: New York, New York
Overrated: Goodfellas (it's still a good movie though)
Underrated: Life Lessons
"Most Misunderstood": Silence (also, how in the fuck is The Departed "misunderstood"? lmao)

Casino sucks. The characters aren't nearly as compelling as Goodfellas.

wrong again. characters are considerably more fleshed out to a point we get all their good and bad sides. Goodfellas characters are abit two dimensional in all honest

the story saved Goodfellas, since its a detailed world of a modern mafia

Best: Taxi Driver
Worst: Gangs of New York and onward
Most misunderstood: No Direction Home
Overrated: The Departed
Fab: Taxi Driver
Wife's boyfriend's favorite: Silence

Here, let me fix this for you:

>His best: Midnight Express
>His worst: Gangs of New York
>Most misunderstood: After Hours
>His most overrated: Taxi Driver
>Your fav: The Color of Money
>Your wife's boyfriends fav: Cape Fear

>His worst: Casino

YOU JEW MOTHERFUCKER YOU

My favorite is after hours

This. OP deserves a bbc in his asshole

>Midnight Express

Do you even know who we're talking about?

Do we really need to discuss the most misunderstood one?

I can get behind this

His best: Raging Bull
His worst: The Departed
His most misunderstood: The Last Temptation of Christ
His most overrated: Goodfellas
Your fav: The Last Temptation of Christ
Your wife's boyfriend's fav: Goodfellas

I feel like because Taxi Driver is in english and is a minor cultural phenomenon it doesn't hold quite the same place in the popular film canon as non-english films. If it was made in Eastern Europe the reception would be even higher than it already is

It is an interesting document in hat in concerns Vietnam veterans in America. It has a sense of authenticity, but its nihilism limits its popularity. I think it would be more popular in the West if Bickle was actually let into the Palantine campaign. 'The Irishman' may actually take that route, since Sheehan (de Niro) will be 'campaigning' for Jimmy Hoffa (Pacino).

I'm not denying it's popular at, the film is hugely acclaimed and watched. I just think because it's so relatively accessible it doesn't have the weight attached to it's name that films from other countries do, in general discussion with people

*Sheeran.

His best: Taxi Driver
His worst: Shutter Island
His most misunderstood: King of Comedy
His most overrated: Goodfellas
Your fav: After Hours
Your wife's boyfriend's fav: Goodfellas

It has a unidirectional quality that makes it seem like a one Act play. Many audiences feel like they need arcs with about five major changes of scenery.

We're talking about two different things still

Goodfellas was shite. The Wolf of Wall Street is a better, more refined version of what he wanted to accomplish.

Also his most underrated movie is Gangs of New York.

This post is complete shit. Kill yourself and everyone related to you immediately.

How is Taxi Driver misunderstood?

Best: Raging Bill
Worst: Bringing Out The Dead
Misunderstood: The Last Temptation of Christ
Overrated: Casino
Favorite: Raging Bull
WBF Fav: ask him

When did you realize she was a girl and that she was a drug dealer and murderer in rl?

Casino is so fucking overrated for what it is. Three hours of narration over the top of Scorsese's favorite rock songs with a scant few actual scenes spliced in, half of which are just Sharon Stone being a cunt or Pesci doing the exact same shit as in Goodfellas. At least De Niro's suits are great.

what the fuck are you knobs talking about?

Taxi Driver is routinely located in the top 50 in aggregate best films lists

don't listen to anyone else you have the correct idea. best movie i've seen too.

It's not relatively accessible. Remember that Nihilism is an Asiatic concept, but the film is set in a European colony; a dichotomy which is embodied in the character but never becomes articulate. It's a more glaring issue in a period piece like Gangs of New York, where American slang is unsuccessfully merged with rabid profanity. There's a bipolar dialect at work there.

Eastern Europe has a tradition of books like Gogol's 'The Government Inspector', but the same perspective on film is alienating to a Western outlook. In Dickens and Mark Twain, a very different outlook is presented.
