Why did Rhaegar name both his sons Aegon? Edition

not canon.

Azor Jon

>tfw winter is over

Based Jon thread!
Thank you, OP!

...

...

James III of Scotland named two of his sons James.

because he's a retarded faggot

gay

...

g-gregor and sandor?

Bradamante winked at me today in a library.

The only thing gay about it is your revealing comment.

he is a nice guy, he helped me understand bunch of things about the book and the series as well

Yes, and he is a handsome young chap.

Lot's of regents did that throughout history.

The most extreme example is the Ptolemy Pharaohs put in place by Alexander the Great. All the males in that family were named Ptolemy and all the women named Cleopatra.... had to get very confusing.

Ask him when is he coming back on ere, I miss him so much

Trailer when?

Based Brad

why did winter turn him japanese?

Some Brits turn Japanese when they get old. Look at Jimmy Page for example.

rude

>page 9

It's my fault for taking a nap when my Davos thread died.

Jon threads never get the buzz that mature men get.

And Harrenhal, I suppose...

Modern day Isaac Hempstead Wright

What are some book/show scenes that make you sad, /got/?
Hoster/Cat scenes always get me a bit teary, personally.

when brienne killed poor shagwell

cruelest moment in the series

I don't know if this was ever discussed on /got/ but do you think Jon was in his right to leave the Night's Watch?

might makes right

>tfw no lannister wife to bully you

i want to ____ that boipuci

He used a loophole and beat the system. Deserved his freedom.

>live in a place with the most slutty women in all of westeros and maybe in all of planetos
>a place where a 15 years old bastard can fuck the crown princess
>be the son of the literal ruler of this place
>still an 18 years old virgin

Is Quentyn Martell, dare I say it, literally /our guy/?

Alonzo pls.

Jonsandor

in the D&D made for television ending, the white walkers win because Cersei betrays J&D at the final battle. She believes the dragons can handle the white walkers, and that J&D simply want Cersei's army to be absent from King's Landing so that they can easily overthrow her once the white walkers are finished.

The Yronwoods aren't carnal animals like the Rhoynar. Quent is saving himself for his wedding night with Gwyn.

>he believes that D&D ending will not have either Tyrion, Dany, or Jon - or all 3 of them - ruling westeros after winning against each and every """challenge""" thrown their way
>look at him
>look at him and laugh

If you think D&D have any creative/risks taking skills, you probably haven't watched last season.

It's all good guys/meme characters win from this point, with a few nobodies (yarasha) killed off to pretend "Everyone can still die, even good guys! Be worried!".

>It's all good guys/meme characters win
D&D is saving the "best" for last.

Yes, and what D&D think is "their best" is making jon/tyrion/dany with due to some plot armor bullshit or some extremely predictable "shocking" event.

So expect more of that as the episodes go, and the biggest of it for the finale.

OP is gay edition

that's every thread tho

realistically he would've had PTSD and paranoia about running the place even after executing all of the direct traitors

additionally, I don't think he told Ed this but he has value as the last known living son of Ned and could have used his influence to ask southern lords for supplies for the watch. obviously 2 seconds before he was about to leave Sansa showed up but I assume Jon would've gone south to maybe the Vale . He'd probably get shot on sight in the North (Boltons), Riverlands (Blackfish probably hates him for being a bastard), Kings Landing, Storm's End (whoever is officially in charge of it now is probably a Lannister lackey), Highgarden (allied against the Starks in the war), Casterly Rock, and Dorne (allied against the Starks in the rebellion)

additionally, it was a loophole but it was legit. he died, he can do whatever he wants

I can get why he would. But the loophole doesn't really work since he continued his duties as commander to hang 3 leaders and one kid before quitting. Either your watch ends with your death or it doesn't. Can't have it both ways. Focusing on Ramsey instead of white walkers after Hardhome was also a questionable choice. The main thing that fucks with me, is how not one lord is phased with his desertion of the Night's Watch, and how none of the people who know about his resurrection give it any thought. It's shit writing, and the ending to season 5 amounts to nothing other than a cliffhanger.

Why did she unironically think she would be crowned Queen after the battle? She sat around sucking dick and let thousands of men die because she wanted to play politics.

Jon commanded the battle and had the title of Lord Commander on his resume which meant he already had experience leading

Are girls stupid or something?

Jon is a deserter, a bastard, and fucked his own battle plan causing thousands of men to die. Neither one of them deserved the tittle.

>Are girls stupid or something?
Well everyone in stupid on that retarded show, but girls especially so. Because D&D try their hardest at making them look smart but they can't write smart characters, so Sansa is retarded, LF is retarded, and the smart bits they tried to give Dany makes her look retarded as well.

This.
Jon's last action before the KITN scene was trying to get every single (non-bolton) northmen killed.

Sansa's last action before the KITN scene was to hide information that could very well lead to every (non-bolton) northmen killed.

They should be locked in a tower til they eat their fingers or each others. No one would ever follow either in battle after that shit. Or wouldn't anyway if it wasn't for plot armor/plot convenience.

Podrick clearly identified the Hound as Sandor Clegane when Brienne ran into Arya.

Later, when Brienne is telling Sansa about it, right before Theon leaves, she leaves that part out making it seem like a random dude

What the fuck is Brienne's problem? The Hound has a decent bond with both Stark girls

He was riding out to save Rickon who was Ned's last known male heir.

It wasn't really covered for some reason but I assume Rickon's existence is a big part of why they were able to get the other no-name houses to join their army

In the logic of the show, she wasn't responsible for the mountain of corpses shenanigans, which was physically impossible.
It was politics for her and the vale to be responsible for the victory rather than Jon, but if they'd arranged the Vale knights to be part of the force at the beginning, they would face off directly in conventional style and the cavalry wouldn't surround the Bolton troops as easily as they ended up doing (fair enough). Knowing GoT, if they'd gone the safer route of letting Jon know he had a big cavalry army a day's march away, something silly would have happened for grimdark dramatic effect, like Bolton finding out and going on the offensive, Waterloo style, or else Jon would fuck it up and throw the cavalry onto pikes because Bolton had imprisoned his granny's fourth cousin thrice removed and was threatening to hurt them.

maybe she thought Sansa would be pissed if she found out she killed the man who had protected both her and her sister from danger

Siege of Winterfell

Roose Bolton vs Stannis Baratheon

This

>it's a Sam raises another man's child episode

Everyone is talking about GURM's writing speed, but few people mention the pace of his writing. There's just no way he is able to finish the story in two books. Just look at Arianne's fucking travelogue. If he was writing GoT at the same narrative pace he wrote ADWD, the book would have ended with Ned killing Lady.

eh, if he just uses TWoW to climax/merge/end a ton of plotlines like ASoS he should be able to wrap it up in another book

>5 chapters in Meereen
>The battle hasn't started yet
>2 Arianne chapters
>She's just moving from point A to point B
>Hasn't reached point B yet

Yeah, that's not happening. I miss the days when Cat sailed across half of the continent in one paragraph.

When will GRRM release TWOW
and ADOS books in our local bookstore?

This year? The next year?

>name both sons Aegons
>Aegon is killed
>Aegon is alive

well obviously the sample chapters aren't going to have anything really major happening in them
and arya for example took fucking ages to get anywhere way back in ACoK, this isn't something new
all I'm saying is that he can pretty easily pick the pace up and have shit happen fast (whole stannis arc and mereen battle can be finished in a couple of chapters each IMO). only problem is that it may feel a bit rushed after how relatively slow it's been
of course, GRRM might just be a little too comfortable with his current pacing to care and continue just as he has been, in which case, I'd agree with you that 2 books is a definite underestimation

>it's a Ned raises another man's child episode

luckily that shit didn't last longer than the pilot

>mereen battle can be finished in a couple of chapters
It has at least 5 chapters long intro so that ship has sailed.

He is not picking up pace at all. The only chapters where it looks like he might be, Mercy and Forsaken, only come across that way because they were supposed to be the ADWD climax chapters for those characters.

When will we get a nude scene of Modern Day Isaac Hempstead-Wright?

Maario Naharis

because she's an actual stark unlike anyone else present? D&D have butchered sansa to eternity and back but her (apparent) expectations here still make sense

so? half the northern houses are now led by random relatives or grown younger brothers who were never supposed to inherit shit

None of them bastards, or with living relative who precede them.

Oh btw will the faceless men return in season 7? Surely someone want cersie killed.

>Surely someone want cersie killed.
Why? Poor women barely escaped with her life when Vrays's little birds destroyed the sept at Tyrion's order. Good thing too. Someone needs to keep the realm safe from Targ degeneracy.

will season 7 be any good, a patrician season ? also why only 7 episode

Yes in the form of arya stark

...

As it is predicted, Ceraei will be killed by Jaime. HOWEVER, in the greatest twist of the season, Arya will kill Jaime

>ywn protect that smile

>Asked by RadioTimes.com if he also got “professional and personal satisfaction” from the role he added with a faint smile: “Er, no.”

>I have nothing to say about it. I didn’t understand nor the show nor its success when I was part of it

/our guy/

she's neds bastard daughter. jon is true born. all of neds tully shits are bastards

>Brienne vs Ramsay

Never user. I'm sorry

This. Don't feel too bad though. Most of it would have just been Arianne looking at local flora.

...

in the pudding

that is not a useful corroboration of the original claim

>Dusk found them on the fringes of the rainwood, a wet green world where brooks and rivers ran through dark forests and the ground was made of mud and rotting leaves. Huge willows grew along the watercourses, larger than any that Arianne had ever seen, their great trunks as gnarled and twisted as an old man’s face and festooned with beards of silvery moss. Trees pressed close on every side, shutting out the sun; hemlock and red cedars, white oaks, soldier pines that stood as tall and straight as towers, colossal sentinels, big-leaf maples, redwoods, wormtrees, even here and there a wild weirwood. Underneath their tangled branches ferns and flowers grew in profusion; sword ferns, lady ferns, bellflowers and piper’s lace, evening stars and poison kisses, liverwort, lungwort, hornwort. Mushrooms sprouted down amongst the tree roots, and from their trunks as well, pale spotted hands that caught the rain. Other trees were furred with moss, green or grey or red-tailed, and once a vivid purple. Lichens covered every rock and stone. Toadstools festered besides rotting logs. The very air seemed green.
OR
>"There is no end to it" Arianne thought one morning as they rode through the great rainwood. Everywhere they turned, the green engulfed them.
I even foreshadowed the wildfire explosion there. Seriously though, that chapter was meandering bullshit. I'm pretty sure that writing it qualifies as procrastination.

GRRM really is going places with these sample chapters
>Sixty-four dishes were served, in honor of the sixty-four competitors who had come so far to contest for silver wings before their lord. From the rivers and the lakes came pike and trout and salmon, from the seas crabs and cod and herring. Ducks there were, and capons, peacocks in their plumage and swans in almond milk. Suckling pigs were served up crackling with apples in their mouths, and three huge aurochs were roasted whole above firepits in the castle yard, since they were too big to get through the kitchen doors. Loaves of hot bread filled the trestle tables in Lord Nestor's hall, and massive wheels of cheese were brought up from the vaults. The butter was fresh-churned, and there were leeks and carrots, roasted onions, beets, turnips, parsnips. And best of all, Lord Nestor's cooks prepared a splendid subtlety, a lemon cake in the shape of the Giant's Lance, twelve feet tall and adorned with an Eyrie made of sugar.
>For me, Alayne thought, as they wheeled it out. Sweetrobin loved lemon cakes too, but only after she told him that they were her favorites. The cake had required every lemon in the Vale, but Petyr had promised that he would send to Dorne for more.

>For me, Alayne thought

Its okay user, its not your fault.
Well if you excuse me, I go to bed with a couple of red bull and cry about it while going into depression.

in the year 2525..

I want to leave Sup Forums but Icant....can someone help me? I try to leave but I'm still coming back, I'm addicted to Sup Forums, but why? Why oh why?

you should get into gay porn

Fuck off faggot

It's strange reading about this when he totally nailed the role, on of the castings imo. Of course, D&D fucked up his character, but Dillane delivered the goods.

...

...

...

...

what did he mean by this?

>tfw there will never be a show with Joan Snow who gets the Danny Flint treatment

Because he wanted to make sure the next king was James IV and not Succboi I
