A cousin of mine took a test a couple years ago. It showed your ancestry based on the females of her family (guess bc it measured the mitochondriaes in her samples).
It turned out all the females in our family were from Iberian ascend (we're from Southern Castile), precisely from that area. This applies to my mother, too, since it's her sister's daughter. Feels good to be at least 25% pure breed. About their faher (my maternal grandfather), we know that his family has been around the area since at least the 18th century. His surnames don't give us a clue, (Jews and Arabs that stayed after the Reconquista finished used to adopt certain surnames that made reference to their "dirty" origins).
Idk about my father's, though, since some of my relatives from this side are Aryan-like blondes with blue eyes, while others are pretty Morocco-tier (tanned af, brown eyes, black hair...).
