completely silent

It's about 1.3 black women loud.

Depends on barrel length, muzzle device, etc. Generally, shorter barrel = bigger boom (despite lower muzzle velocity)

Damn that's pretty fucking loud

Thanks for the info dude.
Havent shot my x15 yet and was wondering what it might be like.

if it's subsonic it's a lower noise

Yes, true, but sub 5.56 is weird and expensive and hard for many guns to cycle

Definitely want ear muffs if you plan on doing a lot of shooting in one session.

116 dB

All bullets are loud, regardless of caliber.
I would get some of those foam disposable ear plugs like Laser Lite. If you're going to a range they'll have ear protectors anyway.

Not very loud, it's like "pfffffttt".

Eh decently loud.

My range is in a state park. Its just a wooden table in a gravel pit.

don't waste money on earplugs. just put your fingers in your ears

And shoot with your toes

It should not be making any sound

lost

who gives a fuck

fucking deafening

this.
the short barrel has a louder sound is due to the gas behind the bullet still being more compressed. in a longer barrel the gas spreads out more throughout the barrel, resulting in less initially exploding out behind the bullet. the lower velocity in the short barrel is due to the bullet spending less time in the barrel being pushed by the gas.

about the same level of 223
