actually planning a trip up to Kicking Horse in march with my bud, shud b cool.
can confirm. few hours from whistler but there's many cooler places
also xc skiing is nice too if you haven't tried it
me on the left
interior BC is really fucking cool and they've been in better shape then the western US.
im in utah, can confirm that according to weather stats and shit that this is the worst season in almost 50 years.
Is Big Sky a meme or legit?. I need to get away from New Enland ice skiing and want to take a vacation but lodging is too expensive.
legit and montana is cool as fuck.
>you will never go boobsledding
Cool. Thanks for the reply gonna go
I unrionically set an alarm for 3 am the absolute state of my life
Winter sports are just for fun. Only complete autismos take it this serious
any non canadians need answers for attending events?
How much plastic surgery has your sister had?
Man, it's frustrating how many hoops you gotta jump through to see decent coverage of the event. NBC sucks, the BBC now sucks because Eurosport. CBC is meh. I just wanna watch some snow niggers in the comfort of my own couch.
At least sumo isn't like this. They had a big tourney in Jan and you could see it live and YouTube channels has edited recaps of all the fights and standings and closing ceremonies. It was nice
no thanks i have this
How would this help an English speaker
I thought youtube and stream and all this advanced technology was supposed to ~connect us all~ and make stuff like watching a sport that isn't football half way across the world possible and easier and instead we have... this.
The future sucks.
the embassy info is helpful I guess
how does that even help if you can't read Korean?
You point at the sentence in hangul you want to say. Like the RAF pilot shootdown cards they had in Operation Granby.
holy shit is this real
LOL YOU GOT MEMED
Without romanization, its pretty much useless. You can show it to Koreans and point to it I guess?
>having to hold up a piece of paper for them to read
>tfw people tell you the Olympics are stupid, pointless or gay.
>tfw people tell you that and then do nothing but talk about nfl, mlb, ect.
Why do so many people hate the Olympics? Specially seems to be that American's really love shitting on them.
...
Cross Country just started. Place your bets
>Norwaywinslol
imagine posting on Sup Forums about anything else while the Olympics are happening
Is there a single non-Kim in that country
anything good today?
I'd watch, but hockey is on. Plus I'm signing off after cause it's late.
finland getting blown the fuck out
i said 'good'
the dopers getting blown the fuck out by USA
why doesn't it include a phonetic transcription? i guess it's not for speaking, just pointing. just saw that it was on their jackets
xc skiing right now, sprints
Yes, but the Kim 'clan' is the biggest one of them all.
Trying to go off a phonetic script if you've never even met the language before leads to chaos. It's even worse if it's a tonal language (like Chinese) you're trying to pronounce. It leads to chaos and hilarity. Better to just point at the text.
Korean isn't tonal, completely phonetic as well. But fair point.
WTF is up with merkins? Watching the boy's halfpipe and one of the parental guidance units down there amongst the americlap fans is holding up a "Jesus = Heaven / No Jesus = Hell" sign. Nobody give a shit about your backwoods mythical BS Burgerwoman.
You're new here.
People had those signs at Rio too.
that was a Korean.
Korea has absolute insane zealot Christians
ho lee fuk
>hello, I love you!
lmao
>Korean Broadcasting eyes 8K for 2018 Winter Games; NHK all in for 8K Games in 2020
Where is standard 4K you fucking fucks then.
>be up at an ungodly hour
>still no events on
I miss Vancouver
directv channel 106
How many bongs til Chloe's medal ceremony?
xc skiing was on and is again soon, silly
i cant find any medal tally split by gender. Am I top retarded to use Google?
no thread for short track?
I'll make one. Gimme a sec.
>genders
no such thing
Never mind, somebody else did it.
SHORT TRACK THREAD:
There's already one
is the alpine skiing event where 4 people race each other down the hill in the olympics?
whats it called?
that's Ski Cross.
its considered a Freestyle Skiing event, not Alpine.
>Snowboard Cross is the same thing but better
>its considered a Freestyle Skiing event, not Alpine
why? it seems an obvious alpine event surely?
Alpine (downhill TT and slalom) and Nordic (cross country and ski jumping) are the old styles of skiing.
the newer disciplines (moguls, aerials, slopestyle, halfpipe, ski cross) are all considered Freestyle.
Does anyone know what happened with women's luge?
Why is it showing that the finals are in a couple of minutes? I thought that it was supposed to be the third and fourth heats instead?
Don't listen to the people trying to say Whistler is shit or whatever. The place is unironically magical. Like, everything about it: from the village to the bars to the mountain.
What my friends and I do is either book in advance. Or just Book a venue that's meant for two people but put 4 in there. Usually two in the bedroom and two on a pullout couch. So we save money that way.
As for Whistler, everyone on the mountain is reeally friendly and will always let you know where to go for the best snow. It's the most skiable land of any resort in North America, so there are always some places that are untouched.
4th heat is the final. Whoever is fastest after all 4 heats wins.
>that fucking german
She's got to be from the east
thats a guy for sure
My god, what do we do.
There are going to be like 5 quality events on at the same time and they're all medal events p much. Wtf do we do?
>Curling
>Luge
>Speed skating
What else?
>Frisch failed to make the German luge team for the 2014 Winter Olympics.[2]
>She retired from luging in 2015, at age 22. After her retirement, she was contacted by German coaches hired by South Korea to become a naturalized South Korean and join the South Korean luge team.
lol learned Korean through K pop so lame
For me, its curling
Almost everyone involved in luge is german
Germans dominate
There are also some good austrians.
The italians are Germans from South Tirol
The canadian coach is german
The Korean candidate is german
its literally the most german wintersport
Cross Country Sprint thing
thank u germs
Well a lot of German women are build like fridges, and I think you can imagine what happens when you strap a fridge to a luge board.
It makes sense. Bavarian girls are perfect for luging.
Long and short track speed skating too. And the cross country sprint is men and women's finals.
