Tfw mods kill the lovecraft thread

>tfw mods kill the lovecraft thread

anyways, here's a rebuttal of what one retard was saying.

>Don't people know that ALL lovercraft stories ate set in boring ass towns and the protagonist never met an actual horror...
>what is the outsider
>what is at the mountains of madness
>what is the shadow over innsmouth
>what is the case of charles dexter ward
>what is the doom that came to sarnath
>what is the temple
>what is the call of cthulhu
>what is the quest of iranon
>what is herbert west
>what is the dunwich horror

this is what i can think of from the top of my head that contradict the statement. lovecraft's fictional reality if we can say he had one is much more diverse and imaginative then >le boring town detective tale with supernatural ending

he also either alludes to or outright tells the tales of wars between ancient aliens and other horrors, all kinds of glamour and sci-fi constructs.

people can mean several things when they say lovecraftian. it could be the aesthetics, or the literary style, or the cosmic scale of things. stop acting like a faggot.

one question:
why do the cultists fall over when the doc summons the baby?
one even gets his head smashed in while hes lying around.

>Cthulu is an unstoppable cosmic horror
>Is defeated by one sailor hitting him with a boat

Dunwich is a boring town tho

idk, you have a 8 feet tall dude going around shooting dogs with a gun just for fun and people are too scared to do anything about it

doesn't sound too boring

can't answer this one i'm afraid. magic?

cthulhu is told to be an unstoppable cosmic horror by legends written by retarded ancient folks. i bet he couldn't even take a nuke to the face.

yes but the protagonist meets an actual horror.

At first glance, that's kind of silly, but when you think about it, it's fucking rad.
>ywn ram a deep one with your shitty fishing boat
That user was saying that ALL of Lovecragt's stories happened in a sleepy NE town.

apparently cthulhu is like a balloon of terror.

it's not a well thought out movie

>Wilbur finally gets killed by dogs when his gun jams
>Prof Armitage is looking over his monstrous body as it lay dying
>Wilber is whispering something with his dying breath
>Armitage bends down to understand better
>"Finally... after all... these years... I have become THE DUNWICH HORROR..."
>*dog licking his own balls in the background*

Lovecraft kino coming through

Who /Providence/ here?
I kind of had a distaste for Neonomicon, but Moore's second series not only fleshes out the world, but manages to redeem Neonomicon with its conclusion. Based Moore.

That's a mix of Bloch/King/Lovecraft.

Dreams in the Witch House is what you want.

I read it. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I read it all.

I imagined they had some kind of hivemind thing going on that was finished once the ritual was complete.
I liked that Moore chose to explore Lovecraft's work more than try and do his own thing with it. His stories being a warning of sorts of things to come was a neat twist. Especially Earth being Yuggoth all along.

Maléfique (French movie) would be to your taste, I think.

my fav Lovecraft will alway be Cast A Deadly Spell

>tfw you will never live in that hardboiled urban magic world

...

He really believed in the power of that boat

the boat was magic.

Real subtle Lovecraft

Derleth is a huge faggot and a worst writer than Lovecraft himself

Correlation?

It was less of him being beaten by a boat and more of a "I don't need this shit, I'm going back to bed".

cthulhu has always been a personal idol for me, mostly for how chill he is when it comes to sleep.

*ehem*
Lovecraft kino coming through

it was okay in a goofy and funny way but compared to the story... I mean, if they removed all the sex related stuff and just kept the creepiness it would have been a lot better.

The sex stuff was the best stuff though. Removing that just makes it a well-made gorror flick

great old ones aren't unstoppable. you're thinking of outer gods.

you must be at least 18 to use this board
back to jr. high gotho

lovecraft isn't very goth, it's more autistic tbqh
for one thing, there's literally no romance.
