Engaging character or blatant fapbait?

Engaging character or blatant fapbait?

Both.

Can a person be interesting even if they're really really hot?

>op doesn't have enough sex in normal life and sees women as sex objects or raises them up on a pedestal

So, what is it like being a non-normie?

>all that projecting

wew

The problem is you can't make fapbait without an engaging character

I thought the Major was an interesting character and I'm not one of those cucks who hates """"unrelaistic armor""" but I did cringe when in one of the early episodes of SAC she shows up to a meeting with her boss - he's in a full suit with jacket - and she's in that getup showing off her thighs.

Like, being eyecandy is one thing, even on the job whatever. But in a professional setting?

You I've never seen the anime, should I A) watch it and B) Subs or Dubs

...

If you want to, you already know the answer to the second question

...

Every Star Trek series had a busty catsuit lady but Seven of Nine was the only one of those characters that was actually interesting

You can't explain that

Major is a sexbot repurposed by the police

Trips make it true.

>You can't explain that
Voyager was a terrible show, the worst Star Trek show up to its date, and it was full of unlikable characters and the worst captain Star Trek has ever had

Nerds were just looking for something to hold onto and keep watching that shit

Por que los dos?

Voyager had some great episodes and the "unlikable characters" as you call them all served a purpose. They were intentionally kept muted personality wise in order to add more flare to the alien species they encountered.

My only problem with the cast was Tom.

I'm pretty sure nips wouldn't make humanoid robots for any other purpose

I know. There really is no excuse for it. But I can't keep watching the show without ignoring that.

There are times when she really has to dress formal and she wears military dress. I guess that's when she really needs to look professional

I use subs for 99% of anime/Japanese video games but McGlynn is amazing as the Major and you should use the dub.

Should have been her

it was a pretty fucking stupid costume to wear as a boss

good thing they got rid of it in the second season

How can you be sexually attracted to a cartoon?

You tell me

In the same way that you can be sexually attracted to heavily photoshopped image. Nothing difficult to understand about it.

She doesn't have a character in the original film.

...

>robot autism boob girl is interesting.

Former in term of personality, behavior and role in the story, latter in term of character design. It's the best of both worlds.

Jesus christ.

>You can't explain that

They lucked out and got an actress who could deliver a powerful performance even when speaking in monotone.

How the fuck is anyone saying Major is an interesting character? She's downright the most boring character in the whole series

>I'm perfect in every way
>all battles I win with no effort
>I'm so sad that I'm a robot, except I'm not

Togusa, Batou and Chief are infinitely more interesting than Major in SAC

It's the same shit that fapping to pornstars, both are just fantasy, it ain't like you're going to fuck the pornstars.

Dub. There's some anime where somehow the dub surpasses the original voices. This and Redline are 2 major examples of this.

Major is an interesting character because she's the repercussions of giving a human what humanity has always asked for. The ability to be amazing, but with the cost of mental state.

>Everyone claims the major was white washed in the new movie
>She was never Japanese in the original stuff, she literally had no back story
>even in the movie they show her in her past as an asian kid
People are retarted.

This shit is found to be more acceptable than watching pro-wrestling.What the fuck?

Where do you think you are?

Must have been perceived as a mis-step because they didn't stick with it.
By the 2nd Gig she is mostly in 'tactical' stuff.

Worst oh please moment was at the end of SAC where Batou is close to being blown away at the Major's safe house and he starts rifling through cupboards. The Major doesn't keep anything around except guns and lingerie. Which is perhaps a slightly over-literal characterisation.

>tfw SJWs have become so ridiculous you can no longer tell what's trolling and what isn't

It's easier than you think.

Guys there's a lot of what looks like sequels/2.0 (whatever that means)/something that looks like a series etc on hulu of this (in addition to the original) are any worth watching?

>Watch order

MANDATORY VIEWING
>GitS (1995 movie)
>GitS: Stand Alone Complex
>GitS: S.A.C. 2nd Gig

Optional:

The Ghost in the Shell (Manga)
>lighthearted manga with great art
>super dense lore about international politics and future technology
>pretty fun senpai

GITS 2:Innocence
>kino as fuck
>confusing as shit
>fell asleep the first time I saw it
>if you want more deep philosophical metaphors and beautiful cinematography def watch

GitS: Solid State Society
>movie taking place after 2nd gig
>never saw it desu senpai

GitS: ARISE
>recent tv series and movie
>it's okay, gets more shit than it deserves
>no where near as intelligent as 1995 movie or S.A.C.

Ghost in the Shell (2017)
>okay hollywood action schlock
>kino visuals
>shit writing

Ghost in the Shell 2.0
>remake? Of 1995 movie where they added an orange filter and added a bunch of random out of place CGI elements alongside the original 2D animation
>complete waste of time desu senpai dont bother

GITS: Stand Alone Complex

Subs, even if the major's English VA did the vocals for the journey home.

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I've been interested in the series for a long time now but somehow it's just kept slipping me by. I'm actually going to see if I can watch the '95 movie today if this thread is still alive by that time I will try to chime in

SJW's are mentally ill, they don't troll.

Do it senpai, it's very confusing the first time around but upon rewatching and letting it sit for a little you'll realise why its such kino

GITS 2:Innocence was ALMOST on the mandatory list but due to it being stupid confusing the first watch, it might turn off most people, but again rewatching it will make you appreciate it a lot morw

yeah, but shitheads like us come to places like that to troll SJWs in there and it's impossible to distinguish who's who atm

Neither.

The major picked a sexy as fuck body on purpose, so its part of the character.

Solid state society ispretty good. Good story with some good twists, and some satisfying action.

its jap shit so its clearly the latter.

That's all they're capable of.

>GITS 2:Innocence
>>confusing as shit
I remember dowloading this with the fansubs when it first came out and like every other line of dialogue had annotations. Some of the fucking annotations had annotations.
I think a lot gets lost in translation and cultural differences.

>Every Star Trek series had a busty catsuit lady
Not TOS.

Why not both, desu?

[LAUNDRY DAY]

Guys I just finished it.

I feel like an idiot. I'm not really sure what was going on. I'm going to try to recount it maybe somebody can tell me where I get it wrong/confused. I'll look it up on wiki afterwards

So there is section 9 which is like a gov't organization that does like counter-espionage or something. Major kills a guy in the beginning as an introduction to this. Then there is a woman who has been hacked by her "husband" (the trashman) who is actually being controlled by another guy who are all being controlled by The Puppet Master. Then a body is made which should be a robot essentially (no ghost) but it is found to have ghost traces which kind of shocks everybody. This is the puppet master who actually had no body ever but is kind of a leftover and a project (2501) that is used to manipulate things in other governments to kind of influence them. Major wants to get in it (for reasons I don't quite get) then after a chase she does and he wants to merge with her (for reasons I don't get, why her?) then she is reborn as a mixture of the two of the (essentially the child of them and this manifests as Major Prime in a child's body) and it's kind of left open after that.

Did I do okay?
