Well, a LOT of Americans have shown that they cannot handle guns responsibly, so the only thing is to somehow make sure these irresponsible / disturbed people are controlled.

Sadly, gun supporters aren't helping craft solutions, so politicians who honestly know frighteningly little about guns are stepping in with terrible solutions.

Because they can't recognize personal responsibility is incredibly important. So they create laws to "protect" citizens, but inturn reduce the value of personal responsibility in society as a whole.

No you did miss it. Why should people have to give up their guns when the vast majority of gun deaths are committed by non whites, most of whom aren't even suppose to have guns anyway?

Thevonly way to increase safty is to make it mandatory.

1 ) Everyone (even criminals and crazies) is required to carry a firearm about their person at all times.

2 ) it shall be unlawful to enter a public place without a firearm.

3 ) All current gun laws are steuck down.

4 ) gun manuf cannot be sued unless the product is defective.

5 ) You plug someone, you are legally required to pay funeral costs, unless it is determined to be a "clean shot" (e.g you capped a nig-nog trying to rob you).

All problems will sort themselves out in a generation.

The actual reason why democrats want a gun ban is because it's an opposing wedge issue to the conservatives. Like actual democrats in charge of the party couldn't really give much of a shit either way. They have guards, they're armed. They're in gate communities with guards posted. Whether or not the 2nd amendment burns just really isn't their concern, but because republicans make it a talking point, it's easy to pick up votes from voters too stupid to realize that guns aren't an issue.
