What went wrong?

No joke I hate them but what are some good arguements to bring up against friends who support them?

Bump for interest

Tell your friends to get jobs.

They should of stayed a one party issue that didn't pander to the left, after all environmental protection is a conservative idea to conserve the environment.

First and foremost, their foreign policy (like most of their policies, really) is populist feel-good bullshit. The only difference is that their foreign policy is that the foreign policy is fucking dangerous for the country. If we give up the protection from the US, we're screwed.

Also, go to their website. They have a policy of 100% fully-funding a range of trans health services. The language is a little vague, but you have to assume that includes sex changes. So the Greens have a policy of having sex changes be 100% funded by taxpayers. That is fucked.

>friends
>who support them

What the fuck cunt?

I actually mostly align with the Green Party's stated values. But I also mostly align with Hillary Clinton's stated values. I don't support either one.

World is a fuck

...

Also, fuck Australia

You would be surprised how many Greens and Labor voters there are on Sup Forums.

Full on, unironically, voting for them.

It's true that a lot of green parties align to the left usually for a pretty good reason. In today's world It's rarely the individuals that destroy the environment or pollute our air. Individuals are also powerless against laws and such so they could actually go to jail for doing so.

However I'd say Green Politics are neither left or right, they advocate environmental sustainability above all else even if it costs us to lose some of our luxuries. This puts them to a difficult position because they're basically against both left wing and right wing policies.

E.g issues like private transport vs public transport, more vegetables & less meat, electric vs fossil fuels and renewable vs price/convenience.

How do they even end up that way?

I would have sooner put on my ballot a green party that didn't bundle its environmentalism with left wing policies over one that did.

For me, the single major reason for opposing them is the Greens' complete and utter opposition to nuclear power. That alone is game over for me. Their cuck policies on other matters just reaffirms my opposition.

do people actually live off centrelink or is this a meme?

Environmentalism is autism. They want to keep the world in the exact state it is in before human intervention. There is no inherent merit to this. People panic because the average temperature is going to increase by 1 degree every 50 years when there only disadvantage of this is that coral dies and other insignificant shit. And yet imposing laws that will neuter technological advancement for the sake of current inefficient measures like wind farms will only hurt the environment more in the long term. If technology can improve on its own without interference from environmentalists then it will become more environmentally friendly naturally in the long term, as we see in things like the transistors.

Remember, these idiots fought against hydro power in favour of coal. Bob Brown was also a homosexual.

Capitalism is ruining the environment for profit

True. Nationals Socialism is the only solution. Really, Northern Europeans could make any economic system and/or social structure succeed.

>If technology can improve on its own without interference from environmentalists then it will become more environmentally friendly naturally in the long term, as we see in things like the transistors.

Oh please, we're wasting way more resources than we need to. Keep acting like its better to only advance when the previous resource becomes economically unviable.

Things like I'll and coal aren't necessary resources except for their use as energy sources. When that runs out well move into nuclear dependence. By the time that runs out we'll be centuries ahead in technology. At the moment there's no demand so it's not necessary to advance too much

Mate its very fucking real.

How it works is Mr Druggie gets fucked up from years of hardcore meth or heroine use and goes on the disability pension. He then meets Mrs Druggie who is also on the disability and together they have kids. Mrs Druggie lies to Centrelink and says that Mr Druggie doesnt live with her so she gets full single mother benefits too.

In order to keep buying new TVs, gaming consoles and ensuring there is a falcon or commodore in the driveway Mr and Mrs Druggie supplement their centrelink payments by selling drugs and doing burglaries.

When Mr and Mrs Druggie get caught for these offences they are represented by free tax payer funded legal aid because they are part aboriginal. The magistrate buys their story of how hard their life is and that they are really off the drugs and clean this time and are making a fresh start so they get released on immediate parole.

The cycle repeats until they eventually die and their children follow in their footsteps creating generations of oxygen thieving scum centrelink scum.

Using. It's different in a good way. Previously people died when it got cold because they didn;t have a house, someone invested in building houses on land and now everyone is better off.

You could argue that the land is ruined but it's not really because it just has a house on it.

Look at uranium mining, taking it out is terrible for some reason but putting it back mixed to the same concentration is unthinkable. The end result after 5 years is the same as far as the dirt is concerned, we just got a lot of cheap green energy.

Steel requires coal.

Just ask them what they think about pets, identify the vegan/peta people and keep asking about how they feel about pets.

Wine farms require steel

The image represents the problems with the greens party ideology. They look at the image and say "bikes only, buses are to polluting"

Here's why that's retarded:

- Bikes are only good for personal transport over short distances
- Buses are great when everyone is going to the same place, from the same place. Fucking useless otherwise
- Cars always work, you can go anywhere anytime almost without exception.
- compare the throughput of that road over an hour at average speeds and levels of service.

Both do actually. Everything does. Coal isn't about to be replaced any time soon.

The Greens are really just neoliberal feel-good politically correct bullshit.

>Greens
>Neo-liberal

Not unless you're as far Left as Zizek.

Building windmills is a total waste of time, they pour a shitload of concrete inside the ground (concrete is very polluting to be made, google it). In the long term, nuclear plants are much more effective.
The green speech sounds exactly like the christian speech (say it to them in the same terms, I bet they'll love it).
Let me explain: the greens promise salvation if we stop using cars and ban industry (just like christians with sins). This is actually comforting, knowing you can save the world and yourself. Saying the planet is doomed is not, and people won't like it.

>tfw you support environmentalism but also nuclear power and GMOs

I wish there was a legitimate pro-science party.

You do understand that climate change causes drought and rising sea levels as well?
If it keeps up, we will get yet another refugee crisis on our hands.

You're clearly underestimating the effects it will have to the world.

Well dunno about your Green party, but ours is generally in favor of public transportation along with bicycles.
Here in Finland we have slowly moved towards hybrids and fully electric cars with public transportation along with public bicycles for rent.

>Buses are great when everyone is going to the same place, from the same place. Fucking useless otherwise
Not true in Finland at least, you can get by pretty well without a car unless you live in scarcely populated rural area.
Cars are more or less about convenience, not a requirement really.

I am pretty interested to see how self-driving cars will improve public transportation and what innovations lie a head of us.

>i hate them
>give me reasons to justify muh feelings

You are no better than those you claim to hate.

>tfw I am a mister druggy child.
I managed to escape the cycle of degeneracy.
Cut all ties with family.

Yeah right
Most of the things I know is from my father (he's an construction engineer) and knows a shitload of stuff about how environment works
Most of greenies are just jobless hippies who didn't even got through high school, so they're quite easy to manipulate and clueless about their subject in terms of science

So you're saying we should accept the planet being destroyed without attempting to do anything about it? You think any additional regulations equals "banning industry", and that scientific evidence that pollution caused by humans harms the environment is the same as religion which has no scientific basis?

Here's the difference: it's absolutely true that if everyone on the planet agreed to stop unnecessary pollution, it would be beneficial to the environment. This is something that can be objectively measured and quantified. If everyone agreed to practice Christianity, there would be no endgame or objective measure to quantify if it's really better for humanity or if it leads to salvation.

>leafposting this hard
Memes aside

It's not about proving something scientifically, it's about having an appealing ideology
"Hey look you can save yourselves if you join us trust me the planet can be saved"
The planet is doomed, whatever you choose to do, our planet will be crushed one day or an other.

The future is solar.
I mean we are literally orbiting a massive nuclear reactor.

The storage is the problem.

There's nothing really wrong with the idea behind GMO's but I'd much rather rely on publicly funded research institutions to do the research for them instead of the profit driven private sector. They're literally on a honor system on United States which is not fine.

>Most of the things I know is from my father (he's an construction engineer) and knows a shitload of stuff about how environment works.

anecdotal evidence doesn't really mean shit here.

>WE'RE ALL DOOMED ANYWAY LET'S STOP TRYING TO DO ANYTHING GOOD OR CONSTRUCTIVE

Nihilism is the ultimate argument. If you think like this, why are you involved in politics?

that pic is more about city transport, which yea biking and public transport is objectively way better
infact personal automobile use has destroyed most western cities

but yah if you want to be some suburban cuck and drive 1.75 hours each way to work everyday then personal automobiles would be best

>The future is solar.

Chinas coal industry thanks you for your support. As do local natural gas suppliers, as natgas generation is required to supplement mass solar supply.

Controllable supply and storage is the problem. The solar supply is too unpredictable, only available half the time and mass grid-level storage is a meme.

You cannot achieve efficiency gathering energy from such a diffuse energy source. We may be orbiting a nuclear reactor but collecting scraps of energy only available for half the day is foolish.

I do not believe this is so

Good work m8.

Just remember you naturally work hard in situations than posh cunts. Get in their and smash em.

Here is some m.kerr as a reward

Does every Australia's Green Party also have these people?

>“Germany is to be contained from the outside and heterogenized from the inside by influx, ‘diluted’ so to speak.”
- Joschka Fischer, former Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor of Germany

>“We, the Greens have to make sure to get as many immigrants as possible into Germany.”
- Co-President of EFA

>“I hold that in 20 to 30 years there will no longer be [German] majorities in our country.” . . . “And I want to make it very clear, especially towards those right wingers: this is a good thing!”
- Another Green Party politician from Germany
