Sup Sup Forums, any Sup Forumsros work for amtrak / Department of transportation. Going to apply for position and they do hairtest but im uncertain what their panel covers. Obvious drugs like weed, cocain, mdma, meth etc etc will be covered. Does anyone know if they search for psycadelics like LSD, mushrooms or DMT? I dont want to drive anything just want to be a train attendant. These hairtests seem draconian for someone that won't be operating any vehichles or heavy machinary.

If you have no hair to test the test will be denied. If you have no head hair they will take arm, pits, legs etc. Ive heard experiences where weed lasted 8 to 9 months in hair even with the person shaving it off

I'm about 99% sure that the test doesn't include lsd or dmt. If I'm not mistaken, the metabolites of lsd and dmt are difficult to detect. They require expensive equipment and special training to detect. Also, both drugs are neither habit forming nor common, so the costly testing isn't beneficial. You can read about these things online. I'm not a fucking expert but I'm almost certain they won't test lsd or dmt in hair even if you become the fucking president.

construction user here. Idk if its different working for amtrak directly but to work on there tracks you have to pass the drug test that pretty much tests for everything. My union made a big deal outta that part and stressed that if the test would pull up anything to not even bother trying to get the job otherwise you could get blacklisted for years.

They could just be saying that? Did they mention which drugs specifically? Most jobs require a 5 panel test. Whether it be piss or hair. The next step is a 7 panel test and that adds ecstasy and mdma I think. Even up to 13 panels mushrooms and lsd arent on there.

Psychedelics are metabolized within a fee days (72 hrs and your fine). They are also not searched for in a general 5 panel screen.
Amphetamines will be detectable a bit longer, which besides the obvious MIGHT include psychedelic amohetamines like 3c-p, Dom, doc, ect

i doubt that. I had to take an 8 hour class plus test at my union hall just to be allowed to apply to any amtrack jobs. They need to keep insurance rates as long as they can so they have like a 0% tolerance policy. If i so much as take my phone outta my pocket on the job i get fired and blacklisted

again i can only go off the info i got from class plus what i hear from other guys working the sites but seeing as how one accident can cost not only a ton of money but also hike up the insurance rates i would be wary. There is no such thing as a small train accident, they always cost the company a boat load
