Hitting on women usually doesn't work anyway. It's something you really have to ease into, and just getting to know each other first. Making small talk, asking how she is, how she's enjoying her job, what else she does for a living, hobbies and all that cliché shit for a couple months at least.

Pacing was always my biggest struggle in conversation tbh, feeling awkward and not having enough confidence to speak even though I know how to do it. Even simple shit like, "yeah all this snow has been crazy recently, hopefully it lightens up soon because I hate shoveling that white bullshit" or something kinda works because it keeps it going. As long as it actually makes sense and is relevant to what's going on in the world at the time, it really doesn't matter. It's something you just have to get acclimated to, and don't be nervous because she's a woman, nor overconfident which can just get people in trouble. I was never good at talking to people because of my appearance, mostly my messed up teeth which really killed my confidence even if I had people give me their numbers and want to talk, and just didn't like the few basic white girls I was always around. You'll get the hang of it.

I've been fairly lucky since most of the awkward silences are broken by machines fucking up at work, or just using the excuse of needing to do our job. I've only been talking to her for like 2 weeks now, so I figure I'll just go slow and see what happens.
