Summary (tl;dr): >(a) We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced.
>(b) In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness.
>(c) This average has not varied for 3,000 years. Does it represent ten generations? >(d) The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be: >The Age of Pioneers (outburst) >The Age of Conquests >The Age of Commerce >The Age of Affluence >The Age of Intellect >The Age of Decadence.
>(e) Decadence is marked by: >Defensiveness >Pessimism >Materialism >Frivolity >An influx of foreigners >The Welfare State >A weakening of religion.
>(f) Decadence is due to: >Too long a period of wealth and power >Selfishness >Love of money >The loss of a sense of duty.
Are we really witnessing the downfall of our civilization?
Shall we abandon all hope and start planning the next one somewhere else?
Dylan Martin
Nah. This is just another cycle, the Age of Decadence will soon end in flame and a new Age of Pioneers, free from Jewish influence, will take the stage.

Anyone got a source on the best version of the book? I looked at amazon and it all looks like abridged versions with different shit going on. I don't know which to try.

He covers several civilizations, what did you expect? It's a great read, considering how he was mostly right about everything.
Julian Lopez
He is not right
because he doesn't make any claims
he just mentions stuff
its like only naming the problem
Carson Reed
I've shared the Glubb paper with some people who are pretty borderline normie, or have only swallowed a little bit of red dust.
They've all been surprised. It has changed all of them.
This is important, because Glubb talks about the right stuff
- duty - service - public morality - no women voting - acceptance of homosexuality - influx of foreigners - urban vs. rural
People who read the Glubb paper and see what it is saying get tiny bits of lots of different red pills.
Angel Hughes

>Shall we abandon all hope and start planning the next one somewhere else
Are you talking about all the west countries? the essay talks specifically about single superpower countries and not about groups, maybe USA fits in his predictions.
John Lopez
Can we assume this is acceptable for civilizations like the West? Same foundational values, similar evolution.
Blake White
China declined in the 18th century and seems to be rising again.
Ryder Edwards
Christianity will never fall. Maybe it won't be the main religion of any European country but South America will not fail us.
Dunno but our western civilization has already more than thousand years, so it doesn't fit in the 250 years cycle.
Robert Taylor
>Soon after this period, government and public order collapsed, and foreign invaders overran the country. The resulting increase in confusion and violence made it unsafe for women to move unescorted in the streets, with the result that this feminist movement collapsed.
Sounds too prophetic to be true
Jack Cox
The Western Civilization as a cultural superpower, beginning with the American and the French Revolution, fit the 250 years cycle.
