Pretty much what the other anons here said. Old country good, new country bad. I think it's largely due to the fact that country artists aren't country people anymore, so the soul and the meaning that the genre used to have has all but vanished. Current "artists" are just corporate creations in cowboy boots.

not really, it has a lot of new stuff which gives the whole genre a bad name, it's seen as old people for the most part outside of the American South, and yeah I guess a bit of what you said too.

We don't really care where they're from as long as we like how their music sounds. Especially Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba who all love the classic country artists with a passion. Probably because those provinces are the most redneck portion of the country so they relate to the messages commonly seen country.
