When did you give up and start hating Star Wars? Was it before the prequels, after the prequels, or after the non-canon Disney sequels?

I'm old enough to have seen TESB and ROTJ in the cinema.

The original trilogy had a kind of fuzzy grooviness about it. Before the internet, staying up to 4am at party talking absolute bullshit about Star Wars to complete strangers was a rite of passage. It was a cultural touchstone.

The prequels ruined everything and made the originals seem childish by association. I remember buying ROTS on dvd at a high street store, being served by this sexy little bitch, I was cringing so hard I thought my fucking spine was going to snap. I would have been less embarrassed if I'd been buying porn.

>When did you give up and start hating Star Wars?
Right after watching The Phantom Menace. I still like the first three movies.

After the special editions and that fat fuck turkeyneck Luca$ declared that the original versions would never be seen again because he's a fucking child.

first 10 min of watching episode 7.

Lucas was right those first 10 min it was obvious disney had fucked it up

>Dude, women are good and men are bad!

>Dude, women are the light side and men are the dark side!

They're actually going to do this. They're going to tell millions of little boys that they are inherently evil.

It's so morally reprehensible that it's beyond words. Truly evil.

>This gets posted in every Star Wars thread with the same exact filename

The OT is culturally significant and great. No shame in liking it.

The NT is culturally insignificant and awful. How can you like this?

The Disney productions are culturally bankrupt. Absolutely disgusting.

Never really cared for them I was always ambivalent towards the franchise but the amount of whining fans of the OT had about the prequels really put me off and showed me how bitter they can be turned me off the franchise.

Never. The original three movies are still great accomplishments in blockbuster filmmaking. Why would I hate that? No matter what else gets gangfucked onto those movies afterwards through prequels and sequels it doesn't change how great they are.

Why are you triggered by the truth?

Some time after I saw it being shoved into fucking everything, but I think the OT is still fun to watch

>not realizing it's a flipped representation of the Christian myth of Adam and Eve in which women are the destructors of all that is good

The force awakens is what drove the final nail in the coffin for me. The fact that they went with ANOTHER fucking death star just showed how creatively bankrupt Hollywood has become.

I think the OT is culturally significant but I don't really enjoy watching them.

You're right, the NT isn't culturally significant but I enjoy watching it more than the OT because it gives me comfy nostalgia feelings for childhood.

The OT is just a campy sci-fi film for me, it doesn't stir me emotionally.

Never seen a single Disney production because they don't interest me in the slightest.

h8 me

t. Tumblr feminist.

Seriously though, are you dumb enough to think that people don't already realize this?

Also inverting Christian mythology is a popular thing with satanists

>acknowledging the inspiration for the story makes you a tumblr feminist

You must be powerfully retarded.

even as a kid i thought it was cheesey and had no interest in it. it truly is shit desu.

Oh really? When did Adam kill Eve or vice versa? Where does it say that one is inherently good while the other is inherent evil?

You clearly haven't read this story captain autism

I stopped like Star Wars when I realized when Disney said they were going to make Star Wars films more diverse they really meant they are just going to make all of the new characters who are women and minorities, and all of the ones who are bad white males, except for one person who is on screen for 5 minutes and covered in armor.

Just more liberal hypocrisy, they don't really want or care about diversity, they're just pushing an agenda.

Do you speak entirely in copypasta from futher retards?

I was 10 and I realized that I did not want this. Buy I only stopped caring about star wars after the Disney buyout.

You just got BTFO faggot Try harder next time tumblerina.

>muh tree
>If I keep posting it then It's true

>Dude, women are good and men are bad!
Oh jesus, go solve your mother issues already, you recursive prick.

Stop with the denial user. The rumors have been around for a long time. This is just confirmation.

Was it autism

Nice straw man tumblerina.

It was the very first scene of Phantom Menace. My idiot friends had me waiting in line with cosplaying netds for over 4 hours for the very first showing. The first line of the movie was "I have a bad feeling about this" or whatever, and the entire audience burst out in cheers and applause. I couldn't take it anymore so I got up and left.

>muh tree
>If I keep posting it then It's true

Stop being so triggered Kathleen.

But they are true

tvovermind.com/movies/new-rumors-force-tree-emerge-star-wars-last-jedi

After TFA. I hated how Disney anounced the EU was not canon because the EU was the reason I liked Star Wars the most. And it was a big part of my childhood and teenage years. I decided to trust them with TFA but TFA was shit so I don't want anything to do with Star Wars anymore.
I've seen Rogue One and I think it was shit too by the way.

Only started to hate star wars after the prequels because I fell for the gen xers "Muh childhood ugh literally ruined!" meme. Looking back the original star wars is blockbuster capeshit just like the prequels but it gets a pass because they were children when watching it.

>le rumors
>source: le ass

Nice foaming at the mouth, mongo.

Never because I'm not an insecure Sup Forums cuck who gets triggered by negros

I never really liked it all that much. I was in love with KOTOR but that's about it. I'm fucking sick and tired of seeing everyone talk about a fucking trailer for a movie that won't come out for 8 months though. It's going to be completely forgettable like all the other ones too.

>why do you get triggered by brigading huh??

>muh tree
>If I keep posting it then It's true

Hate is too harsh but it's not the same when they're rolled out like Marvel movies. They should have waited at least another year before VIII...

I'm glad someone else despises all this reaction video nonsense to fucking trailers of all things as much as me. I don't get what the big draw is for them, other then attention and culture appropriation. Since you know they probably never liked Star Wars until TFA came out making it cool for normies to like.

>Twins, one male, one female
>Just like Luke and Leia
>The female "discovers" the Force at a place that becomes known as the "Force Tree"
>The female twin founds the Jedi Order
>The male twin is evil and kills the female.
>Before she dies she makes a prophecy that she will return as The One
>Meanwhile Darth Sidious creates Anakin Skywalker to be a false prophet / golem type creation
>The Jedi are fooled into thinking he's The One
>The Jedi only realize their mistake too late.
>Anakin destroys almost all the Jedi
>Luke tries to redeem his evil father who literally slaughtered children.
>Rey is born and she is the perfect reincarnation of The One. Flawless in every way.
>She finds Luke Skywalker, who now just like his evil father, wants to destroy the Jedi Order

Rey will stop Luke's plans, restore order to the galaxy, and will destroy the dark side. She will also bring about the rise of the new Jedi order as predicted by Supreme Leader Snoke in TFA.

The entire Star Wars saga is about how women are good and men are evil.

>still no argument
You're so beta it hurts

the first ten minutes was the only good part though

...

Ignoring the hard moralfaggotry that would poz our eyes if they ever included this in a future film, that might actually make a little sense and explain a few things about Star Wars. Think about it, the Jedi Order (if we're being honest with ourselves) is gay as fuck. It's a feminine commune of neutered virgins who serve as the vanguard to an oppressive, neoliberal omni-republic.

Meanwhile the Sith are individualistic, ambitious, and love personal freedom even while they work within a masculine hierarchy. Remember that the Sith initially fought on the side of a secessionist confederacy, and switched to seizing the reigns of of power in the republic to form an Empire when they realized they couldn't just kill the government machine.

Weird, those first 10 minutes (maybe 5 actually) of Episode 7 were cool to me and I actually thought back then that the movie might not be the piece of shit it ended up being.
Everything afterwards was completely awful of course.

No one cares. You're blathering about EU shit that isn't even cannon

>argument
When have you ever, in your 13 years of life, have you managed to post something resembling an argument? Let alone on this fucking thread.
Go embarrass yourself elsewhere, we're done here.

...

>Think about it, the Jedi Order (if we're being honest with ourselves) is gay as fuck. It's a feminine commune of neutered virgins who serve as the vanguard to an oppressive, neoliberal omni-republic.
Imagine being so triggered that you start to pull shit like this out of your ass.

...

What is that picture supposed to tell me?

When do you give up and stop hating?

...

I've literally never touched any EU media in my life and haven't even watched the last two Star Wars movies. I'm only going off the first 2 trilogies homie. I can't really get into Star Wars because the obvious good guys (the CIS and later the Empire) are prevented from winning by Hollywood moralfaggotry,

>recursive
Regressive? Poor old phoneposters.

Imagine being so dull that you try to kill a conversation about a movie franchise on an internet discussion board made to discuss tv and movies.

>people hate midichlorians because George Lucas
>but this retarded as fuck force tree is such a genius idea because Disney
I hate the Star Wars """""fan"""""base

youtube reaction videos are pure cancer. I never saw any fucking reaction videos for Mad Men's final episodes. Because some people actually understand that the point is to be moved by the work not to broadcast your reaction to the work so other people can see how you felt about it. It's so narcissistic and fucking sociopathic in my estimation.

No, recursive. As in you need to post things a thousand times over to fail to make a point, you recursive retard. Go buy yourself a thesaurus, for fuck's sake.
What a dumb cunt.

hating it after attack of the clones.
Phantom Menace didn't offend me that much at all. Clones did.

i feel like star wars before the prequels was the sci fi/ fantasy series for everyone, not just nerds..

maybe because of the hero's journey, or because it was knights and merlin in space, people could connect to easier than other sci fi movies (the special effects helped things too)

i think it went downhill with the increased amount of EU around the prequel times, and the prequels themselves (which made nerds come alive with the fanservice and easter eggs) destroyed this feeling, and made it geeky

but.. notice how pop culture still mainly refers to the OT and action figures from OT are more popular still..

basically i don't really hate it, just hate the nerd culture around it..
I just see for what it is,
a special effects triumph of the hero's journey in a space fantasy setting.. nothing more, nothing less

go watch the OT vs the preqeuls.. I grew up with prequels and like them, and watched the OT later too..

after taking off the nostalgia glasses, the prequels became cringey (except maybe some of the operatic parts of ROTS) and horrible, with the OT clearly being superior..

just think about it friendo

I haven't

EP VII did.
OT was pretty good.
Prequels were bad but they had good ideas and some imaginative shit. They also had some nice deep lore which, while it wasn't enough to save the movies, was very good. Also the best memes.

EpVII was beating a dead horse. The little tiny bits it had of freshness were actually the worst part. The convoluted story, fan-pandering and absolute shit acting and character development made me want to leave the cinema.

Perhaps that's why I liked Rogue One. I expected it to be complete shit and it turned out to be ok.

The Walking Dead S6 final is the purest form of cancer imaginable and I agree with how narcissistic it is. Just another way for people to peer pressure you like SJWs do in American colleges, first they tell you how to think by shoving Marxist propaganda down your throats, now they are telling you how to act with Youtube reaction videos.

What scene really offended you the most? I feel similar regarding Clones, I just think it was insulting not only to Star Wars fans but to cinema and science fiction as a whole. My interest pretty much died during the Yoda fight sequence. Even Jar Jar wasn't as bad as that.

Oh so you're some retard who doesn't now how to use words properly but still wants to try and show off, gotcha.

Eve killed mankind, she is the one who imposed mortality upon humans.

Eve brought inherent evil to all people.

How stupid are you?

The only time I like reaction videos is in sports, because I think the point of sports is the tension and excitement that goes with it, but I don't give a shit about how you react to Glenn getting brained in some show for retards.

I wasn't around like this user and hell, was born in the 90s for fucks sake.
But I grew up with many SW games and watched the movies when very young. All 6. Eventually I rented all six to watch in order (I was like 11) and was really suprised when I wactually found myself not enjoying The Phantom Menace. At all. I didn't even bother with the other films.
When I began using the internet I found a lot of people hated Jar Jar and for a while guessed it was just that. But watching the Phantom Menace again I realized the movie was just bad. What I loved when I was younger were the video games and the idea and looks of the characters I played as and fought against, not the actual films.
But people were saying that the classic trilogy, the first one from way back when my parents were my age, was still good, so I rewatched that and sure enough, they were better. Not a masterpiece of cinema, but held up pretty well. I was particularly impressed by how amazing the Death Star looked up close with all the tiny details its model has. Specially the shot when The Falcon is about to enter. Never bothered with the games again and my taste in games changed into full weeb mode.
Then Episode VII was announced and I wasn't particularly excited or fearful. I didn't care. But all my friends who grew up like me and for whatever reason never rewatched the movies or else I'm guessing they'd hate the prequels too were very excited. I watched it and at first enjoyed it but a few weeks later it wasn't very memorable for me. Didn't like Rogue One at all, but although it was just shameless fan service the final scene with Vader felt very nostalgic to me. It was finally seeing Darth Vader as that badass the games and my child mind had made him out to be when I was young (he doesn't really fight like that in the original trilogy) so that was nice.
Don't care for The Last Jedi. I'm fucking sick of SW. It was never that amazing for me and personally I'm fuckind done.

The pain stops when you pretend the prequel and sequel trilogies never existed

oldfag and lifetime star wars fan here, who saw the ot at the same local cinema, that i still go too (rarely).
i was really hyped when i first heard lucas was planning new star wars movies. i really got back into the franchise (started buying magazines, merchandise again and talking about it online) although i had always watched the trilogy every year, my enthusiasm was blooming again.
cut to 2 years later, and i had got my tickets early and waited in line the first showing.
2 hrs later and i had stopped being interested in star wars forever.
i couldnt believe how absolulety awful it was. everyone in the audience were laughing and mocking the movie, it was that bad (not bad in a good way) and i felt cheated and confused.
how the hell do you make a bad star wars movie?? its impossible!! (empire reference there) but lucas had managed it.
since then, i have eventually seen all the prequels and the 2 latest and my opinion has not changed.

Shit. The rumors were true.

Dooku vs obi/anakin was great, then yoda came in, I was pensive, unsure, as soon as he pulled out the lightsabre, nah fuck that shit.
(attention was tested with the love scenes on naboo, but yoda took the cake)
