Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika

Let's talk about a hypothetical United States of America had it been founded by the Germans.
How different would it had been from the current one?
Do you think it would've been racist?
Would it have fought for or against Hitler?
Would it have gained super world power status?
Would it have accepted other European immigrants on its first years and lately third world immigration or would they have kept it only for Germanic people?

Also why the heck isn't there a German colony in Africa or like South America?
>inb4 American education
But seriously even Portugal had all these colonies why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?

there was a german colony in South America, north Venezuela specifically, but it didn't worked and they abandoned it.

and they also had african colonies.

>But seriously even Portugal had all these colonies why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?
is this the fabled American education

Well for one the german language would be the universal language instead of english, most sites would be in german, and you would see easterners speaking german alot more often.
In terms of racism, id imagine itd be the same.
It would have been for hitler, definitely. Yes, it would have gained super power statues.
Unsure if they would have accepted.
Germany wasnt even a country, just a bunch of states next to each other. None had the power to colonize africa, maybe except bavaria which idk why didnt

>Also why the heck isn't there a German colony in Africa or like South America?
The german empire used to own colonies in Africa but lost them in WWI

you can google that shit you know. Basically Germans were preoccupied with a very bloody unification process so they were a bit late to the party. Then they tried to get superpower status by sheer force and accidentally almost destroyed the world twice while failing to do so

then we just stuck to selling machines and such

>Also why the heck isn't there a German colony in Africa or like South America?
we had some in africa, germany was pretty much late in the colonial race, brits and france where the biggest colonial empires at this time.

>But seriously even Portugal had all these colonies why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?
after wwI france and brits took all of them as a winner rights from us.

I'm sorry I just can't think of one

Dude, Germans colonised so much of the world. Problem is, it was by private individuals, not by a state, as there was no large German central-government until 1871 (unless you count the Austrian habsburgs).

But pretty much all the Baltics were colonised and founded by Germans, there were German colonists on the Volga and Ukraine dating back hundreds of years. All of midwest america was settled and colonised by German religious groups.

They never formed their independent states cause they didn't want to bother anyone, they just wanted to stay in their local settler colonist communities.

Even if you replay history as is different sperms will reach different eggs and different people would be born.

Once you have a PoD you have too many butterflies to count by the time a few hundred years pass. Hitler wouldn't have existed. The Internet might be very different.

>None had the power to colonize africa
Lebanese education
>bavaria
Lebanese education

Togoland, Südwestafrika, Tanganyika, and Neukamerun were all African.

>founded by Germans
user, as much as I love alternate history I just can't conceive it. Germany was much like Italy during the hey day of old colonialism: A bunch of city states and small countries not geographically situated for ideal colonization of the Americas.

>Do you think it would've been racist?
yes. As any nation controlled by whites at the time
>Would it have fought for or against Hitler?
would Hitler even have been a thing? Probably they would have joined forces with Germany in WW1.
>Would it have gained super world power status?
hard to tell as the World Wars might have worked differently
>Would it have accepted other European immigrants on its first years and lately third world immigration or would they have kept it only for Germanic people?
They would have accepted them. We always accepted other people here except during Nazi times when we only like honorary Aryans

>Also why the heck isn't there a German colony in Africa or like South America?
we lost the colonies in Africa and the Pacific after WW1. Never had them in America as the Spanish and Portuguese were first (and somehoe they were German at a time because the Spanish Habsburgers were Roman-German Emperors so some Germans did stuff there but not many)
>But seriously even Portugal had all these colonies why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?
Germany never was a strong naval power. Prussia and Austria cared more for European influence and the German Empire tried and didn't win against England and France

Deutsch-Westafrika

They had colonies in the pacific and Africa.
You just have to read a wikipdia page to know it and not ask dumb ignorant questions you dumb ignorant fuck

Do their people still speak German?

not really

they developed a strange fascination with prussian Ordnung though. It's kind of a cargo cult

they also want reperations

*reparations

>even Portugal had all these colonies why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?
we had + the difference is Portugal discovered and conquered, Germans conquered each other and Eastern Europe. The Teutonic Order basically colonized Prussia (later the Prussian province East Prussia). Many Germans colonized lands but not for a German crown but for example German settlers who were invited by Catherine the Great. Germany united way too late compared to for example France and we couldn't close the gap/tried it the wrong way

Oh and the flag of United States of America with German as the official language would have never looked black-red-gold

>Do their people still speak German?
German colonies were taken over by the victors of WW1 so they learned English and France. Some regions still speak (their versions) of German and still sing German children songs and you see some leftovers of German colonization but it was only a short colonization phase and German influence was mostly replaced
example for German still being used

Everything good about the USA comes from the Benelux.
Fries, doughnuts, guns, based presidents like Roosevelt, the American dream, freedom, capitalism, multinationals, stock markets, new york.

The Mexicans supplied traditional culture and cowboys.
The blacks supplied the music.
The Jews supplied technological innovation.
Germany supplied the fat people and tendency to lose wars.
The British supplied the non-phonetic language, nonsensical measurements, nonsensical legal system and SJW-autism.

>The blacks supplied the music.
Not really. "Black" music is really Scottish in origin
>The Jews supplied technological innovation.'
White Goys far outnumber Jewish inventors.

Harsh words my man

>Black" music is really Scottish in origin

>"Black" music is really Scottish in origin

>why didn't the Germans have just (one) ?
they had a few but they were taken from them in ww1. they didn't have many to begin with because germany didn't exist as a country when most of the land was already grabbed by someone else. same for italy

Thomas Sowell , Black-American historian argues that Black American culture just an extension of Scottish culture?

>Sowell argues that the black ghetto culture, which is claimed to be "authentic black culture", is actually a highly dysfunctional white southern redneck culture which existed during the antebellum South. This culture came, in turn, from the "Cracker culture" of the North Britons and Scots-Irish who migrated from the generally lawless border regions of Britain.

>Sowell gives a number of examples that he regards as supporting the lineage, e.g.,

>an aversion to work, proneness to violence, neglect of education, sexual promiscuity, improvidence, drunkenness, lack of entrepreneurship,… and a style of religious oratory marked by strident rhetoric, unbridled emotions, and flamboyant imagery.

Jazz and Blues is literally Euro-American folk music sung by Blacks. I'm not saying that they didn't make it there own distinct "afro-American" thing but it's origins are European.

Let's get real here. Scottish ""music"" is even worse than Australian aboriginal music.

>Do you think it would've been racist?
Yes.
>Would it have fought for or against Hitler?
Hitler would've never ascended to power because there would not have been enough collective butthurt.
>Would it have gained super world power status?
Probably.
>Would it have accepted other European immigrants on its first years and lately third world immigration or would they have kept it only for Germanic people?
Possibly, but I imagine it would put much more emphasis on assimilation.
>Also why the heck isn't there a German colony in Africa or like South America?
Because they lost the bloody war.

Traditional American black music is about single black fathers.

American white music is about single black mothers.

Most of those things you listed are present in poor groups of people regardless of race or culture. I can go to any poor neighbourhood in my city and see the majority of those things, and those people sure as hell aren't scottish.
I also don't know where do you make the connection with black music.

I don't think Sowell could have said something like that withouth being laughed at by any rational academic.

>Germany supplied the fat people and tendency to lose wars
kek

An German America might have sided with Germany. There might have been only one world war and this German-American alliance might have won. They would have ruled the world unchallenged.

it would still ahve been multinational and not on the side of any European country but having their own interests in Europe like they had during the World Wars.

well I mean feel free to investigate his reasoning further. The guy is not a dummy by any long shot and he is rather an expert on his own culture.

Germany would never have had an American colony so it's a completely pointless thought experiment, you might as well just write science fiction at that point

THEY HAD COLONIES
>NAMIBIA
>KAMERUN
>EAST AFRICA
>PAPUA

wouldn't say the United States of America were founded by the English. 13 colonies wanted to be American and they got what they wanted. I think it is rather a coinicidence/bad German foreign policy that America fought against Germany

sort of impossible, there wasn't any German state powerful enough to colonize and maintain a N. American colony at what would have to have been the early 17th century. There is a few possibilities
>Britain preserves territory, probably the Mid-States region, what would be Pennsylvania and contracts Germans to settle it. Note there were a lot of German settlers early on, and contractual laborers in NY. If the crown didn't owe Penn money and the territory was preserved until the Hanoverian period and the Crown didn't trust English settlers. This is nearly impossible in this precise way as Charles II gave out the land grant, and was a Stuart
>The Dutch or Swedes contract large amounts of German laborers, and potentially get overwhelmed. For example if the Dutch upon taking the New Sweden colony engaged in a policy of bringing in Germans to settle but cannot maintain order and eventually relinquish control of the colony to its German majority
>Colonial revolt. the German settlers have common cause with the French and rebel in the Mid-States colony, Carolinas, and New York. Too small of a population to fight the English majority without significant French intervention. Note that they were loyal subjects both to their provinces and the British, so something drastic would've had to occur to force this

>Early Republic revolt. This is actually the most possible. The Fries' Rebellion occurred in 1799-1800 in regards to taxes believed to be unfair and targeting primarily German-speaking settlers in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth, many former soldiers of the Continental Army donned their uniforms and were involved, there may have been some former Hessian Mercenaries involved as well. Were this to have been considered more harsh of a taxation, and were there to be a more draconian but still light response by the government there could have been greater cause for a larger scale rebellion. etc. etc. an independent German-speaking state could've been formed if the Union unravelled at this time. A lot of factors would've had to been different but this scenario is the least absurd "Chinese founded American" tier alternate history

Note that this state wouldn't have any port. While some villages on the edge of the city would likely join, Philadelphia would not. These German-speakers would also have a unique mixed German identity with some English and Scots-Irish ancestry. They immigrated long before any substantial German nationalism took place and likely wouldn't identify with later Pan-Germanism and were highly influenced by Republican ideals; they would be hostile to powers like Prussia and Austria. Pennsylvania Germans in the 19th century strongly held themselves as different people than later German immigrants

>I think it is rather a coinicidence/bad German foreign policy that America fought against Germany
Germany had the long-term goal to conquer America. The A 9/10 intercontinental rocket was designed to reach New York. Of course America wanted to get rid of Germany.

it would never exist
germans dont seek to travel to other continents to get out from the thumb of their mother country. it's in there genetic code to be a hive-mind under an autocrat. they are disgusted by freedom and happiness.

>Germany had the long-term goal to conquer America. The A 9/10 intercontinental rocket was designed to reach New York. Of course America wanted to get rid of Germany.
so bad German foreign policy. We know Hitler wanted to conquer the world. You can show us more Nazi wonder machines that never worked though
