Shin Godzilla

PURE KINO

youtu.be/a36V1qNga_w

Agreed

Still kicking myself for not getting tickets to this... And with no DVD release date on the horizon I may as well kill myself

Godzilla rampaging to "Who Will Know?" was the climax (an admittedly hair raising one) but everything after that felt like a long slog.

But let's talk about the politics of it. Are you, are are you for the re-armament of Japan?

I seem to be the only person who wasn't bothered by the implications the movie was making.

The way this is all framed is super unnerving. Once the beam really starts going, there's no weight behind it, but in a weird way, it works. Everything about it is unnatural.

yup

best godzilla movie

I honestly don't know why they aren't allowed to have an army, but Germany is. Is it racism?

why is the audio cut all poorly?

>mfw godzilla is a political kino flick

Do I have to be a tasteless videogame player to find this impressive?

There's a lot of build up to that scene that makes it a legitimately exhilarating experience in theaters.

Pretty sure it's coming to Blu-ray on July 5th

I'm still mindblown by how good this fucking movie is. It's not really about Godzilla though

Where'd you hear this friendo?

muh Pearl Harbor

Gesundheit

It's this perfect scene ruined by his retarded fucking eyes.

probably, but mostly they weren't needed as a military buffer against a neighboring communist power the way west germany and south korea were

err not that sk was an enemy power of course, just that if there was a soviet-occupied 'north japan' or maybe if china had been taken more seriously at the time they'd have been built up the same way.

>that elevator music

is this supposed to be a comedy?

I waited around until the full uncut rip surfaced. Watched it with good subs last night that included not only well localized dialogue but translations of the names and positions each character had when they popped up on screen. And it still felt underhanded.

I don't want to use the word "lackluster" because everything involving Godzilla, his evolution, and his abilities is some of the best kaiju porn I've ever seen. But the super fast pace, switching between too many characters that I never found myself terribly invested in, getting entirely too involved in the geopolitical repercussions of an event like this, left me feeling a little cold.

That said, it was miles better and more entertaining than Gareth Edward's reboot, and the Asian-American liaison with her poor english got my dick hard. The last fifteen minutes and the stinger were great, but it still felt like heavy potential underutilized.

The CGI was abysmal too, specifically when Godzilla was still in his early form slithering through the city.

I used to like the idea of pacifist Japan but not anymore because
1. It's not really pacifist in the first place. It has an army not called army
2. The pacifist part only creates red tapes in situations like earthquakes
3. There really isn't anything wrong with having an army. You spend your own money and hire your own men to defend your country and balance the region

4. There is nothing right about having American army to do the army thing for you

>It's not really about Godzilla though
How? The movie begins with him, completely revolves around him, and ends with him.

Does anybody have a link to the Blu Ray bonus content?

that slithering Godzilla was some of the weirdest shit I've seen

Why do americans liike to make godzilla pro human

The cgi was shit but the design was amazing. I was spooped even though it looked fake

americans are weak and need a strong masculine daddy figure to fill their fatherless childhoods causing a mass of cultural femininity

Yeah I was, too. It was bad, but that added to it's creepiness for me. Thought it was pretty cool.

Anno did found a way

Nice PS2 graphics, you could probbly find better fanmade movies on youtube

But his eyes isn't retarded in this form

Yes it was the two movies made in America that made Godzilla pro-human not the years of movies made in Japan that portrayed Godzilla more heroically

Kongs lucky he's fighting burgerzilla and not shin godzilla the only true godzilla

DUDE SUIT LMAO

yeah, it's shit

Only Mothra is pro-human, Godzilla is pro-itself.

its a godzilla movie akin to the first one. Godzilla feels and acts like a pure destructive force

The US is thier Army. That's sort of what this movie was commenting on. The relationship between the US and Japan and the consequences of Japan's actions during WW2

this shit had the worst pacing in a finished feature film I've ever fucking seen

>CGI was shit
Godzilla looked like a high budget JRPG cutscene model during some close up daytime scenes but it looked great at night. They more than made up for it with the animation and smart camera angles.

>camera pans to people walking to another room

Only if they build mechas

Way exceeded my expectations. Easily better than Gareth Edwards'. The only thing I didn't like was the Engrish Japanese woman who somehow thinks shes going to be President of the US.

Just watched it again last night. So good

This is literally unnerving af. How can you not see that? Quit being such a fag

What're they gonna do in the sequel with little humanoid godzillas?

Too much boring dialogue, not enough action.

...

Agreed. I'm pretty surprised how many people don't like that form. I think it's absolutely terrifying.

>weebcucks praising literal shit just because it came from muh Eva dude

She really looks like a rabbit

try watching the patlabor movies, they suck even more

topkek, no wonder they released the night time bit first, you can see how retarded it looks in the day
Bravo Japan, this is the best thing since 12 year old girls driving tanks
