it is easy to live with female roommates and nobody thinks anything about it. you could be a complete perv, ugly autistic slob that secretly video tapes the girls taking a dump, but you could end up with 2- 5 qt chink girl roommates if you rent a flat in any tier 1 city, and they don't care.

Fuggin forget about 剩女 man. The real problem is 剩男. There's way more men than there is women in China and those guys are gonna die unmarried. The girls are fine, eventually they'll find someone that will settle on them, worst case scenario they can either marry a pathetic sexpat or go solo, which for a woman living in the city isn't SO bad.
Meanwhile, if you're a 剩男, there's a good chance you're a dude who lives in a village who has to take care of his elderly parents and don't have too many work prospects. You also don't live in a nice city with tons of luxury.
Again, everybody talks about the 剩女 problem and not the 剩男, I think we as humans are just naturally prejudiced against men because we think they can handle their own shit, and if they don't fuck 'em. But if we see a woman who's in some predicament, we all fall over our asses to try and save them, on the part of men it's white knight syndrome, on the part of women it's simple same-sex solidarity.
We must help the 剩男! 我们一定要保护中国的剩男们!

That's kind of an option, common culture and all that.
The only problem is a lot of 剩男 live in the village, and sure it's not as bad as it used to be, but I doubt women of foreign nationality are gonna want to move to China to marry a guy living in a village. If they were dudes who lived in the city I think it would be different. The thing is cities are chick magnets, women always follow da money. At one point Shenzhen had like a 7:3 ratio of women to men.
Fug, this happened to me too.
I ate like a king for cheap, didn't do any strenuous exercise, and still lost like twenty pounds over 8 months. I think part of it is diet for sure, and the other half is probably all the walking you have to do in China.
I miss China :^(
