>Barnard College, a women’s liberal arts school in New York City, dropped its SAT Subject Test and SAT/ACT essay score requirements from their undergraduate applications in June.
>Barnard will be the fourth college of the Seven Sisters — a group of historically women’s liberal arts colleges in the Northeast — to nix the essay score requirement, and the third of the group to drop the Subject Test requisite. So applicants for future classes won’t have to submit these scores.
Thank fuck Despite having a 3.5 GPA, I didn't get accepted into any UC or State, fuck the SAT.
Jaxon Jackson
>implying Highschool GPA means anything anymore
I mean between Weighted AP scores, the dumbing down of material; it really doesn't serve as a good indicator of ability to preform at a higher level of learning.
t. 2.9 Highschool GPA perfect math and reading SAT scores
Liam Lee
This is for publicity. The truth is now the SAT and ACT will be "recommended" which we all know means required unless your jewish.
Also SAT is a pretty decent indicator of success and the reading/math section correlate well with IQ (assuming you know the tested content).
Samuel Myers
Does she still carry that mattress?
Mason Roberts
This is just a way to increase Affirmative Action. The less data driven an admissions process is the easier it is the game the system. Test scores are excellent predictors of success in mainly college subjects. Also notice that if you are asian or non-hispanic, non-jewish white you will need to submit test scores to have any chance of being admitted. This is purely to increase Affirmative Action without a data trail.
Jordan Wood
A bachelor's degree level of education is truly a continuation of high school at this point, they don't even try to hide it anymore.
Cooper Ward
>tfw when scored 33 on the ACT. >tfw Told parents and school I wasn't going to college >tfw High school guidance counsellor told me I would never amount to anything >Tfw Make $65k a year as a welder with no debt and a house with five acres. >Tfw everyone else in my generation who went to college is enslaved under crippling debt College is for cucks
Adam Martin

So you are white? Yeah, this isn't going to help you, it is going to hurt you even more. If the UC's adopt a no test score policy how will we be able to see if they are following Proposition 209 (no affirmative action)? We won't. No test scores means Affirmative Action. Get that through your head. You still don't in.
Ryder Sanders
>a women’s liberal arts school
Julian Walker
Cool story bro, I'm going to welding school soon. Gibs me hope.
Dominic Jenkins
The essay section is worse than useless.
When it's graded, it's not fact checked whatsoever. You can write blatant falsehoods, and it won't count against you. As long as it supports the point you're making, you can lie as much as you want. >part of the training that SAT essay scorers go through involves teaching them to ignore factual inaccuracies >you can make stuff up on the essay
The subject tests might be useful if you already know what you want to study. They're a lot more useful for grad school, though.
Carson Smith
It's the writing section you dunce. It's not MC so it's graded subjectively and gives poor indication of student's ability compared to ACT/SAT which correlated well with IQ.
Liam Gutierrez
Most Colleges just toss the writing section out, at least when I went through it.
But the other two sections were good.
Christopher Reed
UC schools don't accept Californian residents I got into UCSD with a 2.7 just by being out of state so they jew harder without in-state tuition.
Jordan Richardson
>Sleeping regularly with boyfriend >In the heat of sex, he grabs her tightly and puts his cock in the wrong hole >He stops pretty much immediately >She sends numerous texts afterwards asking for his cock >Later after they break up, she joins up with a social justice group, and suddenly "discovers" she was raped >Told the police, they just laughed >Refused to press charges or file a police report, because of how ludicrous her story is >Started a one-woman crusade for justice against rape, carrying a mattress everywhere >Gets massive social approval from SJW's. Her story lauded in the media. Gets easy A's on her essays writing about it. Suddenly gets scholarships, job offers.
Christian Perez
There is currently a 300+ point gap between asians and blacks at Harvard. This is just a way to make the absurd truth about Affirmative Action go away. The schools will admit minorities and jews under this policy and then they have deniability about their actual Affirmative Action policy.
This issue is currently pushed by Affirmative Action Groups and various education reform groups. The white test scores don't matter crowd are completely delusional. If we get rid of test scores, white kids with bad scores are at an even higher disadvantage. It is a dog a pony show. This is purely to let in more blacks and hispanics.
Caleb Bell
Welcome to mass higher education. I'm a Canadian doing my PhD in France and I get to be a TA in some classes. At least three quarters of the students don't belong there and are solely enrolled to postpone unemployment because there aren't any jobs in this socialist utopia. And it's a damn shame too because the brighter of them are dragged down by the gropings of the sub-educated. But oops! Can't select students based on merit! That's just a big no-no. And teachers are completely demoralized because it.
What's more, it's a lose-lose situation for everyone. The undeserving students waste four years that could have been spent acquire skills or directly entering the market (they will still be unemployed because the equivalent of a BSc is worthless); the teachers are overworked; the brighter students are penalized by being lumped with these retards; and the state wastes tons of money with this whole affair. It's so pitiful because all the teachers and staff are aware of this, but are probably too demoralized or too afraid to go against the hand that feeds them to do anything about it.
Colton Hill
This has nothing to do with the quality of the degree and everything to do with niggers not being able to pass tests. Don't you remember that one of BLM's demands at Mizzou was to get rid of a lot of that kind of stuff?
It's a win for these shitty SJW colleges because it means they get an influx of students, which is a lot more money for them. They don't actually care if you can graduate.
Brandon Rodriguez
>some girl claimed a german student at columbia raped her >she doesn't press charges >she gets all this shitty free publicity >he gets butthurt and turns in texts that say fuck me in the butt >she makes an ''''art''' video recreating her rape >loses all legitimacy and fades in irrelevancy That's pretty much it
Joshua Murphy
Ah, I know that story, I remember hearing about it on the news and never thought much about it afterward, I didn't know that she was Mattress Girl
This data is accurate (unlike private schools). By law UC's have to include all students. The average GPA is 4.13.
Don't trust everything you read on the internet.

They are both normed.

I wish France would adopt the German apprenticeship model instead of treating its vocational education like trash.
It is a much better alternative than to force everyone in shit-tier Universities. I swear, some of the students coming out of those degree mills are borderline retarded. At least we don't have to deal with the SJW shit yet.
Asher Taylor
>Some
Most. Sorry to break the news.
Isaiah Martin
Your 3.5GPA is literally meaningless if you can't get a decent score on the SAT or ACT. Those tests are a joke, I can't imagine you actually learned a single thing in high school if you couldn't get a decent score on them.
Joseph Hernandez
Hmm I'm going to have to make some guesses here since I don't know the norms in Commiefornia.
Here I took 7 classes every year for 4 years, a max of two of those classes a year was the limit on AP classes. My school never told me if different classes had different credit values, so i'm just going to have to say they all weight equally.
Theoretical max being close to 4.29 (4.285) would put 4.13 as 3.85 GPA without weighting.
Carson Martin
>women’s liberal arts colleges stop counting SAT/ACT
Fair enough, it's not like those are real degrees or educations. No need to prove intellect or expertise to enroll in a gender studies class when the only requirement to pass is to agree with all of the lecturer's opinions.
Isaac Robinson
Wtf is the sat subject test and essay

Basic Math Competency (Geometry, algebra, Trig) Reading Comprehension/Vocab Skills (Read a passage and be able to answer questions on it, be able to determine synonyms and antonyms) Writing (Write an essay on the topic given during the test)
The last one is largely ignored because it is entirely subjective
Owen Brooks
Even without high school, it should be fucking easy. Just teach yourself algebra and geometry, and do some reading every day.
>prose writing is subjective At that level, it isn't.

Mason Richardson
>took the ACT 5 times >scored a 33 on the 4th time >forgot to apply for the dual essay part >colleges wont accept it >have to take it again and get 31
where was the 'no essay' back in 2008? damn..
Jonathan Russell
This is because negroes score worse than all other races, and the gap persists even when controlling for socioeconomic status.
Benjamin Powell
Why does that determine somebody's chance of getting into university if it has little to do With the subject they want to study? We have a similar reading comprehension test here and the authors of the texts (which are usually opinion pieces from left wing magazines) usually score just slightly above average on the test, which just proves the entire subject is bullshit.
Jason Gomez
It is. Sorry but the other sections could be graded by a robot, the writing section must be graded by people and there is no 'correct' answer. It is worthless as a means to determine college aptitude.
I mean it is a good GPA but I would think that AP classes giving college credit would be enough of an incentive to take them. To slam Weighted grades on top means that if you just take normal classes you are pretty much going to never get into anywhere.
Jaxson Evans
Leftist keep telling dumbasses that test scores don't matter so they won't notice that colleges are actually just increasing Affirmative Action. It is an effective strategy. There are tons of middle class white people that actually believe this. It is possible to be smart and a bad test taker. That person would just be an extreme outlier though. It is rare to be both smart and a bad test taker. Leftist want to get rid of tests to admit more 'minority students' and not leave a paper trail.
Jace Rogers
You just need money and you'll get your lambskin.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with academia in the coming generation.
Academia sold out, big time.
Jeremiah Peterson
You need at last a 4.0 weighted GPA and a 1900 to get in a decent UC. I got a 4.5 GPA and 2250 and got into all UC's.
>t. south campus UCLA idiot
Nathaniel Rivera
The essay is a written essay which is literally hand graded by humans. It's not fact-checked whatsoever, so you can lie as much as you want if it supports your argument.
The subject tests are specific to different subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, US history, world history, etc. They're basically redundant with AP tests, which are the same thing, but grant college credit.
This is good, because the essay and subject tests were the least useful parts of the SAT and ACT.
Alexander Perry
Never took the ACT but I did take the SAT before they changed it to the version with the 2400 scale ( this was before 2005 graduated may of that year) Then apparently I saw they went back to the 1600 scale? God standardized tests are stupid.
Connor Mitchell
>Tfw Isaiah 14:2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Jeremiah Lewis
I took the SAT's once because of schedule conflicts and got ~1600 Sorry UCLA bro, I'm here with you.
Jayden Powell
was it getting to hard to exclude whites if they had any objective standards at all?
Matthew Jackson
The verbal and mathematical sections are pretty predictive of intelligence and college performance. High School GPA is more predictive, but that can be gamed by lax grading standards.
SAT and ACT scores create a level playing field that can't be gamed.
Logan Baker
It isn't about the right or wrong on the reading, it would be 'Identify who is speaking at marker 1' or "Who is John Doe sending the package to"
It is 'Can you read this and understand what is written." You don't have to agree with any of it.
Every Adult going past highschool and any adult who wishes to be a full citizen and not a drone needs to have complete understanding of their country's Language, and Math at least up to pre-calc and stats.

Gavin Thomas
>$65k a year How's poverty treating you?
Carter Ward
Depends on your race
Mason Gray
I took it the first year they added the essay, they basically told us that it didn't matter to admissions
same thing with the LSAT, they just use it to make sure you actually wrote your own admissions essay
Luke Garcia
I hear the SAT is better if you don't plan on studying. The ACT is apparently the better test to prepare for. This is after the recent SAT switch.
Jack Jenkins
You are Fucked.
I don't think a Gay Islamic Nigger could ride those scores to College
Jason Long
Holy shit nigger go to community college first
Ethan Gray
Welders typically don't live in places like San Francisco, and thus have relatively low living costs.
Sebastian Nelson
Yeah I am sort of glad at the time they didn't have an essay part
Eli Martin
If you really want to go to a UC, think about going to a California community college. They have guaranteed admission for all UC's except Cal, LA, and SD through the TAG program. You don't need a SAT or ACT score if you transfer and it is significantly easier to get in than as a freshman.
Michael Campbell
>poverty So you must live in a lib shithole to have that mentality

and yet she graduated with her mattress. there's fucking footage of it.
america's university are a joke

I fucking hated the essay. On the ACT I had three 35's and a 32 but my essay was an 8.
Also I don't have legible handwriting and it looks like a monkey wrote my essay. So that's also against me. I also suck with words
Christopher Campbell
>65k a year and caling other people cucks
Even my mother made more than that
Jordan Turner
Same. My verbal and mathematics scores were above the 90th percentile. My writing score was at the 50th percentile.
Zachary Miller
Good. The SAT is a bunch of bullshit. They should have their own aptitude tests for applicants.
Adrian Morales
have fun sucking cock in a back alley for a living

Yeah man fuck the writing. As long as you're not illiterate you'll be able to write just fine in the real world as long as you're not a journalist, writer, or maybe a lawyer
Evan James
professional victim is a viable career path now

Haha, who cares. Who wants to go to a liberal arts college?
t. 5.0 weighted GPA, valedictorian, 34 on ACT
Elijah Perry
most people are astonishingly bad writers, even in the fields you listed
Xavier Baker
The sat and act are kind of erroneous. More and more colleges are dropping them because they're finding that the sat/act don't really determine if a student is actually college ready particularly with basic responsibilities like taking care of yourself or basic social interaction
Isaiah Green
>now At the very least it has been so since 1945
Eli Wood
Most parts of the country $65k and no debt is better than $120k in San Franciso or NYC with $100k debt.
Levi Bailey
They're getting flooded with Asians and Indians who do nothing but cheat.
Caleb Ortiz
This
The math doesn't test if you're good at college math, classes or applications. It just tells if you're good at basic fucking high-school algebra
Same with the "science" portion of the act. Doesn't actually measure if you're good at sciences it tells if you're good at reading a fucking graph. There's no science in it at all
Angel Fisher
Not really
Jonathan Sanchez
Where did you go? Research university?I think even on Mars 65K is better than only 20K truly...... ACT saved my ass. Had grades of a retard my first two years. Miraculously turned things around and the ACT solidified that, so I'm the rare case that thanks the ACT Went to high school at a predominately korean school. They cheat like motherfuckers. It's mostly to compare you to others- levels the playing field, but the smart can still excel because it's easy to fuck up. All they really care is your percentile score.
Isaac Martin
>5.0 weighted gpa was valedictorian
Nice public school senpai

There was calculus on my ACT when I took it back in 2008, got a perfect math score on it too.
Jackson Hughes
>gets a 3.5 but can't get a decent SAT sorry to break it to you, but you're stupid.
Ayden Nguyen
And yet these tests correlate better than grades for the science and math subjects. But your head tells you different, so ignore the plethora of data studies that say otherwise.
Isaac Foster
I live in Cali and I got into UCSB. My grades weren't even that good, either.
