Greece is holding a forum for Ancient Civilizations.
>Apart from Greece and China, the countries invited are Egypt, Bolivia, India, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Mexico and Peru which represent ancient civilizations such as the Egyptian, the Roman, the Persian, the Chinese, the Mesopotamian, the Mayas, the Incas, and those of the Indus Valley.
no from Egyptian heiroglyphics via heiratic egyptian, proto-sinaitic and phoenician
Jaxon Martin
yes.. apparently, cuneiform couldn't develop any further.
Aiden Cox
>indian education Cuneiform has no child systems. Every modern writing system in the world (except for Chinese) is ultimately descended from Egyptian hieroglyphs.
Brandon Lee
Why couldn't Greeks come up with their own writing system??
Isaac Garcia
I am not saying it's the same of course but there many similarities, especially negative ones if you look closely at how they behaved
Matthew Gutierrez
I'm interested in these similarities mainly because Greece thrived under paganism but didn't thrive under Christianity could explain a lot
Daniel Jenkins
>Why couldn't Greeks come up with their own writing system?? Why wouldn't they build on others knowledge? No need to reinvent the wheel.
Austin Cooper
They did, but it went extinct.
Cooper Clark
what said. It would be inefficient and the purpose of language is efficient communication
Nathan Jackson
>didn't thrive under Christianity That's a meme though, great stuff came from Byzantium even if it was a rotting corpse for most of its existance. Similarities? Lazy, not interested in education(100 philosophers=/= entire of antiquity), constant bickering, GAYSEX, easili influenced by others (persian dealings with spartans in the pel/nesian war), easily conquered, naming kids after grandparent, the language itself, too bored to continue

The historical retardation in this thread is triggering my autism beyond belief. The Greek alphabet has nothing to do with Egypt. The earliest written form of the Greek language was the cuneiform Linear B which was used by the Mycenaeans. Eventually the Greeks adopted the Phoenician abjad (it wasn't an alphabet contrary to belief) and added the usage of vowels (instead of just the consonants like in the Phoenician abjad). This makes Greek technically the first alphabet. Also theres some stuff about Cretan hieroglyphs and Linear A but since they're indecipherable theres not much to say about them except for historians are sure that they are not related to Linear B and the Greek language.
Oliver Kelly
Come on... the influence of pagan Rome adn Greece was hidden (mostly deliberately) until Renaissance.
Isaiah Ward
>The historical retardation in this thread is triggering my autism beyond belief. Well what did you expect
Jose Allen
YES!I agree with your statement, it was hidden, but it was there nonetheless, you can't argue with Platonic Influence. Why do you think Gnostics came to being?
Mason Myers
maybe you should edit wiki, then.
Robert Cook
SOME LEVEL OF DECORUM
Alexander Wright
Someone explain to me why people say Alexander the Great is not Greek.
Thomas Robinson
Dinaric trash not allowed in this thread, go somewhere else roundhead
Noah Hernandez
>wiki laddy don't make my fly to india
Luis Murphy
He is Greek. Only FYROM idiots think he is not. They are the world's greatest LARPers.
Julian Stewart
Why weren't we invited?
Nathaniel Martinez
Are we invited?
Jackson Adams
Nothing wrong with it. The Greek alphabet did not arise independently. They just built off of other systems.
Hunter Reed
don't blame me. I don't bother much about humanity.

argue wtih > grab me my popcorn.
Mason Price
I don't really understand it either. Maybe Macedonia just wants invitation to The Gentleman's Club.
