exile 2 was my first run in with spiderweb games so its special to me, but in many ways 3 is better
if you want to play these games now you have to use virtualbox with an old OS, its too bad the avernum games were so streamlined

Likewise. I have a copy of windows 3.1 that i run through dosbox just to play Exile 2. Haven't tried any of the others yet, I spent a lot of time playing the shareware version of exile 2 when I was a kid. It was actually reasonably difficult as I recall to find the full version now as an adult.

I'm trying to remember a game I played on the mac in the 90's. It was a 4x game with minimal graphics, just circles for planets, and arrows for ships/fleets with a line in front indicating how far they'd move in a turn. Planets could spend their resources developing technology, infrastructure, or building ships. Notably each planet had it's own tech level and you could update a planet's tech level by sending a ship to it that has a high tech level. It had lots of green and red solid colors on a black background.

I think Starcraft 2 has really evolved into a great game. Once David Kim was replaced as the lead designer, I feel like the new leadership fixed a lot of the issues I had and the game has started to feel like starcraft should. It's not perfect, but I really feel like Starcraft 2 is a solid stand alone game, and these days I just put a lot more time into playing and watching SC2 then I ever did Broodwar.

There's Heart of the Abyss, a fan-made expansion that adds a new pirate faction and also fixes some of the issues with the original game (e.g. Necro and being overpowered as fuck, buffing towns like Tower, Inferno, etc.)
If you do want to play the original, I reccomend a program called Gameranger. It's good for you want have LAN parties with your friends, it has classic games like AoE, Stronghold, and most important of all, Borderlands 2.

Absolutely. This game is god tier.
Pretty much every modern shooter has an auto heal feature, this is one of the last of its kind where you have a limited, finite amount of health to get through a level. Some stages are absolutely brutal on perfect agent. I remember the time I spent earning all the cheats as a kid, after failing to find a back door solution. It was quite a sense of accomplishment at the end.

Eternal Darkness. Truly unique game, one of the best written games I've played. It's really interesting how the game changes as you lose sanity, all the halucinations that start popping up. Totally HP lovecraft style horror game.

Guys. Looking for a sort of puzzle/adventure game. I wanna say late 90s early 2000s. The game is a walking adventure game like Must/Riven. You wake up in a motel room and you're in this Western (like Texas) town. It was kind of creepy. Halp

Shitty game. Became quite decent when LoD was released but never reached the level of its predecessor (with Hellfire expo) although it was always a save choice for lan sessions. Nevertheless, one of the most overrated games ever: too colorful, annoying and partly unfair game mechanics (being cursed with Iron Maiden while WWing and stuff like that), grind for grind's sake (pindle fucking skin), stuff so stupidly op it was mandatory (hi, Enigma) and whatnot...
It always makes me mad when people say it's the greatest game ever because they clearly didn't play it during its so-called prime.
