Romans 3 bruh - they were judged by the law of their hearts.

This.
And the they were probably jewish so that was OK back then.

But muh objective morality

Everyone will be given a chance to come to know the Lord

watched a russian movie where the missionaries from Byzantine come to convert the Rus
and the guy goes on how if they accept Christ after death they will be taken to heaven and such things
the elder(leader) of the Rus village asks him then "But what about our fathers, grandfathers, etc."
and the missionary just says "well they didnt accept christ, they will remain in hell."

>Virtuous pagans
Everyone gets a private judgement with God
God would know how good a life they lived
God would then ask if they believed in what they saw or thought it was an appartiton
If they profess belief they would go to purgatory and then heaven
If not then they go to hell

That's orthodoxy which will differ from Catholicism as I mentioned in my previous post

Bundling

Wait, so why'd they change the rules if that was fine before?

I think jesus went to hell and took all the good guys there to heaven or some shit like that

>
>Wait, so why'd they change the rules if that was fine before?

Exactly we could all just live as virtuous pagans why do we even need religion

Because the truth had been revealed to them and so if they denied Jesus as their Lord and saviour they would be condemned to hell

>explain the old testament in a Sup Forums post

>
>Because the truth had been revealed to them and so if they denied Jesus as their Lord and saviour they would be condemned to hell

Then stop revealing that "truth" and problem of religion solves itself

The Final Judgment

>11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

You either live your life willy nilly and then find out you did bad things and are condemned to death or taught your whole life how to achieve immortality and redemption so if you die at any point you know for sure you'll be saved

Its the same as those poor bastards on Sentinal Island and for mentally retarded people.

If you haven't heard the work or are unable to understand it (for example - a child) you are considered an innocent and get to go to heaven automatically

>and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them

to add to that evil people went to hell while non believers just took a big nap

>How do Christians explain what happens to the people born before Christianity ?

If you had actually read the Bible you would know the answer to that user.

So we should kill babies before they are old enough to understand things so that they can got straight to heaven and achieve immortality. Got it.

Yes and condemn the people who do the killing to hell

You think that Sup Forums is full of smart, rational people.
Then you realize they are just a bunch of fairy tale believers.

>Same god as mudslimes believes in.

Pls kys bitches.

They go to a special circle of hell that isn't quite as horrible as the others.

They dont belief in the same god , muhhamad twisted everything around on the torah

Purgatory. Boom, problem solved.

To get into heaven without Jesus, your righteousness would need to exceed that of the scribes and pharisees - you would need to be perfect. If you transgress part of the law, you transgress all of the law. Your own virtue would not save you, unless you are literally perfect.

I thought christians didn't think there was a 'before christianity'

Im of the opinion God judges with all factors considered. But for those of us who came after this is most poignant.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Literally

>if you don't believe this is doesn't matter how good you were in life you still go to a fiery hell

>rapists, murderers, and embezzlers go to heaven for accepting Jesus into their heart

That's a fucked up religion, bro. But what does anyone expect from an abrahamic desert religion?

Well its like going to trial for murder.

You acted in self defence yet when it came to presenting your case to the judge you refuse to argue it was in self defence.

What recourse then do you have but to be convicted of murder?

A bunch of people wrote the bible

P E O P L E
E
O
P

omg jesus was people

That's why sola scriptura is heresy user. The bible itself warns you of this

If they were good they went to the Limbo of the Fathers, and were released and ascended into heaven when Christ descended into the underworld, after His crucifixion and before His resurrection.

If they were evil they went to hell permanently, which ranges from a place of sheer torture to a place of rest, depending on how evil they were.

What's your point? A person wrote the Pythagorean formula, doesn't mean that it's wrong.

>before Christianity
Are you sure those aren't muslims, with their whole "age of ignorance"

To go to heaven before Christ's coming you had to:

>believe in God, the eternal, almighty, all-good, and benevolent creator of the world and perfect judge
>have hope that you would go to heaven / have hope that a redeemer would come to redeem mankind

Jesus was not Joseph's son.

Joseph always referred to him as "My wife's son".

Romans 1:22King James Version (KJV)

>22 Professing themselves to be wise, they
became fools

king james version is much better .Proffesing proffesor

Wtf I'm an atheist missile now

and even then, you couldn't actually go to heaven, you had to wait until Christ had redeemed mankind and liberated you from the underworld, as stated here: Nobody could go to heaven before the redemption of man that Christ accomplished on the cross.

So basicly man-eating Maya indians and savage niggers were ok?
God has no problems with cannibalistic tribes?

Jesus dying on the cross retroactively saved everyone, pretty much.

There was this thing called Ceremonial laws. They were old Jewish rituals that were to stand in place of the savior. They would sacrifice a lamb unto an altar on the day of atonement. There were 7 yearly festivals that each had its own series of rituals. Once Jesus died and was reborn, he nailed the ceremonial laws to the cross.

That is why we don't do the ritual anymore, because he was a sufficient sacrifice for all of humanity. Before he came, they needed to do the rituals (and follow the ten commandments, food laws...etc) to prove that they believed the messiah WOULD come. The ceremonial laws were a witness.

literally everything in the bible is a fabrication of the human mind.

and the Pythagorean formula can be applied and is correct every time. bad analogy, but not surprising coming from a weak-minded christfag

I can, but it works outside traditional views, to say the least.
Christianity is a redone version of a previous religion with the same or similar values and ethics. A religion that fits the bill for this would be Zoroastrianism. Zoroastrianism did not have a problem with reincarnation. Everyone keeps reincarnating until the end of days. Because by then, everyone will have had the chance to either reject or accept Christ(the Word) into their hearts and believe in him and that he died for our sins or not.

Read Dante, virtuous pagans are in Limbo, along with the unbaptised virtuous

Fuck off leaf

Niggers aren't humans, so of course they aren't subject to divine law.

You have to repent against such sins and /mean/ it. As in, you really, truly, feel bad for it, before death. You can't lie to an omnipotent and omniscient being.

John the Baptist preached to them in Hades, and when Jesus rose from the dead, He raised all of them to heaven.

And what about the neanderthals and other extinct homo species? All gone to hell?
