Lol mechanoids btfo

Are you stupid? These bipedal robots are just toys used to draw publicity an will only be used in niche areas.Human-like bipedal transport is inferior to many other engineered alternative transport methods.

The point is not to emulate a human-like design that emerged ad-hoc through evoluntionary interplay of selection and adaption. The point is to engineer machines that surpass human limitations.

old pic.

Nice cope, r*Bots

stupid fucking robots lmao

Robots are going to take all our jobs, we will never have to work again. Universal basic income will ensure we all get whatever we want. There will be no more money.

why is it walking around like it badly wants to take a piss?

also job well done, domo arigato mr roboto

It will get better.

>being this deluded
Do you think the R*ches will gib you frei moni for any chance? They'll just kill you all. Class genocide is the eventual final of capitalism.

aaaw poor thing :(

LOL

Yeah I heard we'd have flying cars, robots doing all our household chores and peace on earth with zero poverty or hunger by the year 2000 too.

Stay coping or get rich and dont get gassed by the Richies soon

future robots will be white people as they work and toil many hours a day to feed and provide a sustaining life to muds and niggers they they breed out of control

oh wow the future is already here!!!

>we will never have to work again mom!
That is simply not true.See Star Trek?
>no wars
>no food shortage
>people are still ''working'' as ship crews
>administrators
>diplomats
>doctors
>scientists
Robots will always need supervision. The moment they stop needing us they would've become a synthetic life form.

this

I would love a clumsy robot friend.

>eventual final
*eventual final destination

>Robots are going to take all our jobs

They certainly will, but it's probably something like 200 years in the future.

This outcome will require a new a large social movement the scale of the one of the last great industrialization or else current technological advancements will only benefit a very small a selected class of people.

Me too

Only the Japanese are serious about building robots

Robots in all other countries look like undergrad Summer projects at Engineering Schools

TIL Boston dynamics is a Japanese company

Build them faster I don't want to work

>Only the Japanese are serious about building robots

yeah thats right, but we all know for what greater agenda. Oh eternal scheming samurai

I want to pilot a mech 2bh.

>universal basic income will be implemented when robots do all the work
fucking idiot
why would the owners of robots throw away their income

So they can make us their de facto slave

HOW THE FUCK CAN WE COMPETE ROBOBROS

Standing on two legs requires dynamic balance. Our muscles are working non stop while we stand.Realistically replicating the human movement is not an easy task to do, it is yet to be done actually.A human moving while in peak condition is really far from the current capabilities of the robots we have right now.

youtube.com/watch?v=go1QJlFaj1E

We have 4 billion years of evolution up on them.Even if only a few million years of those 4 billion are directly responsible for the way we move.

why would they need slaves?
they have robots
they will probably just let us die out

It feels good to have slaves
You can fuck them, beat them, and literally eat them whenever and wherever you want.

Actually, a japanese company owns it

Look at what it can do.

Sup Forums is owned by an incompetent de facto neet Japanese but everybody calls it an American website

ITT people who don't realise that there are already lots of jobs that are being automated away today:

1. Clerical jobs, have decreased massively. A piece of software can keep everything in order and retrieve records for you, instantly. The work of 10 clerks is now being done by one person.

2. Farming is heavily automated. Tractors can do everything on autopilot now. Not everyone uses the technology yet but it's there.

3. Mining is also heavily automated. There are mines in Australia that are entirely running on autopilot, trucks driving themselves and diggers digging on autopilot and loaders on autopilot too.

4. Warehouses are being automated away to the point where the only jobs left for humans are the hard dexterity jobs, like literally picking objects and putting them in boxes.

5. Road freight is going to be automated soon. The technology is not quite there yet but will be here in 10 years, tops.

If you want a future proof career you need on of the following:

1. job that in STEM
2. job that relies heavily on social intelligence
3. job that requires lots of dexterity, something that robots are really shit at, right now

that is not very much better?

Goddamn it I just want to pat its head and say well done

Do you know what happens if you change the hight of either ramp by 10 cm?

I need to go back to school... my job will be automated

yeah. Capitalism sucks

Well atleast he does a better job than the swedes here in Norway

It's good if you have money though. Get rich and become the porky

I'll be working with neural networks. I'm going to make like half of your poor saps(the non-NEETs) unemployed during the next two decades, bwahaha.

and this thread was doing so well until the leaf frog posted.

Yeah, but if it was something that everybody could do, then everybody would do it.

Or do you think that people just choose to be poor, lol?

I though 1st worlders only need to work a few months to buy a bitcoin rig and NEET the rest of his life while money rolls in.

I'm too late for being rich tho
I'm only high school graduate and literally have fucking nothing

People get rich every day though I think you just need to actually try

Maybe because the website is hosted in America? dumb fucking gook

If you want the science of what jobs will be automated check out the table on the last page of this study:

oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/downloads/academic/The_Future_of_Employment.pdf

I'm a mathematician. You'll be coming to me with all your stupid questions cause you lot have no clue when it comes to math. Pathetic fucks.

>1. job that in STEM
>2. job that relies heavily on social intelligence
>3. job that requires lots of dexterity, something that robots are really shit at, right now

can I reload from when I was 18?

That's what I was talking about, stop being retarded

I invested in bitcoin and lost 5k

Bitcoin mining is not profitable on that scale, anymore.

You need to invest lots of $$$$ to get a rig that makes a profit and it's dependent on where you life. Electricity prices in most of the developed world are quite high.

That's because you are a retard. How could you possibly have lost money... when did you sell and why

I'll be the meth dealer who you will sell you your fix after working 60 hours a week and 69% of your earnings taxed.

yeah robots will definitely be able to support and feed 7 billion people, nice naive logic

>stop being retarded
>I invested in bitcoin and lost 5k

If you look at the linked pdf, you can find lots of easy to train for jobs that are very hard to automate.

Most of those will be lower middle class, "never gonna be rich" jobs but at least you'll be employed.

Even newton lost money you dummy

if I am medical laboratory scientist or doctor I am good yes?

>Invests in something
>The fundamentals haven't changed, it just dips
>"BETTER SELL NOW. BUY HIGH SELL LOW"

Did you buy cuckcoin because you heard about it on tv you moron

What exactly were u thinking? When did you sell and why. The only possible way is if you buy at ATH then sold immediately as it slightly dipped...

>bragging about a 9-5 job for mr shekelstein for 40+ years

Automation isn't going to be able to replace every job, which means that there will be much higher competition for the jobs that do exist, along with a class split by people with and without jobs. Even with UBI factored in, the future is bleak.

Guess you are right, never thought about your electricity cost.
The automated drip irrigation is really efficient though, we build a trial facility and the farm can collect rainwater and run straight for 3 weeks without external water supply in this hot weather.

>bragging about being a leech

t. Reddits intellectual

Are you just some lab assistant slave that is checking samples for a hospital or a doing real research? If you are the former you are highly likely to get put out of work.

>bragging about supporting a system that encourages savages to come and exploit it

>medical laboratory scientist

Depends on what you mean by this. The guy who works in the hospital laboratory to do the blood tests? Very bad. 90% chance of automation.

If you mean a scientist in a university, that's safe, same with doctors, although some of their tasks are being automated, it's never going to be a fully automated job. But diagnostics are heavily automated, even today, so we might see a slight decrease in demand for GPs.

>being that savage

>Not developing Nazi robots

Damn, how is it so good at simulating Russian labourers?

>making assumptions because you ran out of arguments

Well? Answer you Korean monkey

>implying billionaire wont let the poors with nothing and kill those who threatened them with robot police.

You don't really seem to get that people pay only tax because they don't have the choice. If you don't have the power anymore to force rich people to give you stuff they won't give you shit.

after a bachelor in economics I got into a math major (stochastics) because I was scared of this shit, since I'm too autistic for social jobs.

Too bad I'm a brainlet and I don't understand a fuckall

I am the former but I'm also in medical school for my 2nd degree

How do I best take advantage of AI and robots as an early adopter?

you are right
instead i should have asked if you are so goddamn retarded that you think socialism is viable

Invest lots of sterlings in robotics companies.

How though

Join the anti-automation CIA faction funded 'moderate freedom fighters' to fight da robots.

The way things are going now, it's more likely that the ones who own the robots will get richer and richer, until most major cities have been replaced by vast pleasure domes, used exclusively by the excelciites, who are the neo-upperclass.
Meanwhile, the hordes of displaced lower class depth grovelers live underground in tiered cities, endlessly toiling away for nuggets of neoplasmin. It's not a bright future but it's where we're headed.

That's the right decision then. All of these assistant jobs whether in laboratories, law firms(paralegals) or accounting will completely vanish within the next 10-25 years but also other services, like in the food or transport service industry.

thats how the world will look if the evil yurotrash are allowed to call the global shots.

but most parts of the world will prevent that from happening

We can only hope that this second Social Question will spark a new social movement that will try to alleviate some of the effects of this new industrial revolution like during the beginning of this century.

But looking at how things are moving today we are going straight into the opposite direction.

fuck smart people

grandpa, it can self adjust with it's programming. it's not jumping a predetermined height on its own. it can decide how high it jumps depending on its sensors.

Not sure if I agree with point 3... there probably are robots which can put things in boxes the way a human can, they're just too expensive compared to a human on minimum wage. But it's just a matter of time, basically anything that happens on a conveyor belt will be automated away.
On the other hand, jobs like plumber or electrician will be very hard to automate, not just because of the required dexterity but because there are a lot of variables to figure out what you actually have to do, you have to operate in tight spaces, etc. etc. Same goes for anything else where you have to come into people's homes and fix something for them. These jobs don't pay well, but they're safe from automation for at least 40 years I'd say.

>the ones who own the robots will get richer and richer

mmm I have dubts about it.

literally me at work

> If you don't have the power anymore to force rich people to give you stuff they won't give you shit
They will once you threaten them with violence. Unfortunately for you froggos and the rest of us old-world serfs, that will not be an option for us. Americans, however, have both the means and the spirit required to combat and defeat authoritarian technocracy; all they lack now is a leader to unite them in the struggle against corporate tyranny.

That would be their worst choice.

Industrial society will collapse under its own weight or survive, turning what´s left of civilized society into a nightmarish big-brother dystopia. Resistance is vital.

He can jump any height, he has no limitations.

If nobody works who wil buy them shit to keep them rich?

When there's enough jobless people that feel stepped on, they'll get violent until the rich or the state gives them some crumbs to feed on. Unless they're Scandinavian neets that live better than 99.9% of poor people with jobs elsewhere in the world.

bipeds are such a fucking dumb idea for robots, heck everyone on the field agree that they are so utterly inefficient.
Machine learning applied into manufacturing fields is where the money is at, human workforce is inefficient on itself but humans can be disciplined like monkeys to be as efficient as posible up to the point of calculating finger movements and steps.
That's such an amazing dream to me, not a single penny wasted on blue collar scum.

>He can jump any height,

Bipedal robots are the ultimate goal. You want robots that can mimic human conditions. Imagine the militaristic options.

humans are inefficient both in energy and space usage, socially wise bipeds and human-like robots are a nightmare.
creating smart spaces with smart simple solutions is the ultimate goal, not having equally inefficient homunculus occupying vital and ever more valued space in our homes.
