or maybe people do understand, but just don't like what they were given.

Ultimate Man-K i n o

i fear shitty movies that waste 3 hours of my life.

Why do people pretend like this wasn't just another popular blockbuster? it made 800 million dollars. Yall act like it's some obscure arthouse film. It was a blockbuster that way underperformed because Snyder is a hack. Now he's bringing quips into Justice League because he has no artistic integrity. Can you stop spamming this movie?

...

It's literally the most expensive art house film. It also literally the greatest film ever

You faggots almost sound like you're being serious sometimes.

I know where your coming from. I used to be like you but then I actually watched the movie I realized it was a masterpiece. Watch it with an open mind sometime.

what movies have you marvelfaggots directed? i'll wait

I can't roll my eyes hard enough.

R/dc_cinematic friendo

they don't call him Zack "Kubrick" Snyder for nothing

Nice job stealing that from X-Men The Animated Series, faggot.

>if you can't make anything good on your own, steal

>what movies have you marvelfaggots directed?

Are you retarded? Have YOU directed anything? Or do you just spend your time sucking the dick of a guy who regurgitates superior work into your face but with the names changed so you can scream 'KINO!' ?

Pride comes before the fall

Reddit hates bvs and the only redditors who like it like it because they misunderstood the film and sympathized with luthor

Bravo Snyder.

>taking inspiration from religious art to help highlight a narrative point of how the world would react to a being like superman
>Stealing
Try harder

how does he do it, bros?

You're too much of a pleb to understand why you're a pleb.

I used to hate movies without seeing them too. I deemed movies I never saw as "pleb" like yourself but as a joke I decided to watch bvs and was pleasantly surprised

>people who don't like the film pretending the film is a masterpiece to trigger other people who don't like the film

...

>>if you can't make anything good on your own, steal
So Stanley kubricks a master theif right?

no memeing here BvS is 8.5/10. besides Sup Forums is a DC/Snyder stronghold

BvS:UE was fine, aside from shoehorned WW and Doomsday. But why is it always at the forefront of DC kino on this board? Man of Steel always takes the backseat whenever these films are discussed even though its infinitely more better than BvS and SS.

THIS is Zach Snyder's true masterpiece

This.

BvS will be a future cult classic don't get me wrong but the movie is too ahead of it's time,
i've seen it 8 times and i've only begun to scratch the surface at all the themes and ideas the movie tackles. it's genius.

MoS however is the perfect Superhero film. it embodies the true meaning of the american hero and so much more.
it is the Godfather of superhero films and will likely never be topped.

i would love if they did flashpoint paradox version and make him look emaciated

I'm in the same boat here, I loved the movie but I wonder how many people here say they did to trigger others. does Sup Forums really like it on average?

I agree with your criticisms of bvs but mos isn't perfect. Nolan kept Snyder from fulfilling a spectacular vision that could've been realized. Quite frankly there was too much mindless action without any emotions or motivation attached to it. They also botched the build up/origin story pretty bad, exploring it a little more would've helped break the pacing of the film better. There's also music and loud explosions constantly(before you say that doesn't matter watch this youtu.be/NUrTRjEXjSM )
Zod was a terrific villian though, one of the best I've seen done, the score was pretty good, and the third was nearly flawless but the first two are heavily flawed.

There are people who actually loved the movie but they aren't saying things like it's "too ahead of it's time" and "it's genius"

these are the people out to trigger and fortunately for them people are retarded and will snap up the bait

*third act

Upvoted for roleplaying the "MOS was good meme" to the next level

When 90% of questions, critiques, and talk about the movie misunderstands basic facts about it, I don't think people really understand it.

t. Pleb

Yeah bro...true...

>fucking 9fag.

Does that shithole site still exist?

People spam what they cannot sell.
archive.4plebs.org/tv/search/text/People fear what they don't understand/

Yes and it's considerably bigger than both Sup Forums and reddit.

>if you are a comic book reader, its a damn great awesome movie
i dont even know where to begin to show you how wrong is that sentence.

Is that why they made a shit Dark Knight rip-off Superman film hoping it would sell?

Nolan wishes he could do an action movie half as good as Zack "Kubrick" Snyder

>does that shithole site still exist
>in response to a week old meme

We must forgive the haters, for they know not what they do. Most people simply lack the mental facilities to understand. They transgress upon masterful art in there unwillful ignorance.

I literally cried in the theater when I finally understood the allusions and metaphors Synder put on display. I doubt we will see anything come close to this for at least 50 years, if not more.

The theatrical cut is actually the kino cut, patricians know this. Man of Steel is still better though, greatly agree.

So if I made a porn movie where a bunch of fat women was fucking horses in St. Peter's Basilica with a guy looking like Jesus walking in the background it would be kino according to Snyder autists?

Show me anything even close to this in DC garbage:

youtube.com/watch?v=4z09qIekuFg

Brian Singer is a faggot who fucks little boys on set, and his movies are oozing with homosexuality. He's a disgusting pederast and his movies reflect his sick worldview. The X-men are also a stand in for Jews, it's so hamfisted and self absorbed.

>Brian Singer is a faggot who fucks little boys on set
True

>and his movies are oozing with homosexuality
Also true

> He's a disgusting pederast and his movies reflect his sick worldview.
Still following

>The X-men are also a stand in for Jews,
Only Magneto, the villain that's constantly forgiven his transgressions because of his tragic past.

Also, First Class wasn't made by Singer.

Only if you were very, very, very clear they weren't supposed to be jerking off to what is clearly pornography.

And to make that point, the way snyder does, all the women would have to be intensely hot.

I know how you feel, I feel such sadness for those who haven't even given Snyder a chance. Man of steel made me become a Christian.

No, because Snyder uses religious imigary as a story device to allude to larger themes. What you described would be buñuel tier

who here /martha/

>Snyder uses religious imigary as a story device to allude to larger themes

Feel free to post even a single example of this.

The scene when superman dies draws very strong allusions to the death of Christ. Supermans characters is an allegory for Christ and doomsday is an allegory for mans sins and superman sacrifices himself to defeat doomsday mirroring death dying for our sins. The scene is done in the same way many depictions of Christs death these could interpreted as a literal comparison or as a device to show us a human perception of a being of great power.

>another bvs thread

Okay.

How does that allude to larger themes?

>t. buttblasted marvlels who are frustated that DC proved itself to be too big for them to understand
pic related: a scene mareddit will never come close to emulating

It's pretty self explanatory but the messiah allegory ultimately goes back to the main themes of rising above the darkness of this world for valor. We see this themes expressed in a religious sense and secular sense through the different characters.

So you've gone into three things so far that are completely self-explanatory.

How do those things allude to larger themes?

>The theatrical cut is actually the kino cut, patricians know this

Agree 100%. The ultimate edition meme will die off soon hopefully.

I've pretty much explained it what more do you want?

How any of that alludes to larger themes.

I'm looking for something here that isn't completely obvious to the point of being insulting.

If you can't explain or connect to any larger themes, then you've failed to prove the initial assertion that snyder ever alludes to larger themes than what is patently obvious.

What is there not to understand. Superman destroys a city to set up the next movie where batman hates him for ~10minutes and then they become BFFs and team up to kill a giant CGI wubstep booger.

jfc Snyder is a genius.

what kind of man are you Snyder?

>If you can't explain or connect to any larger themes, then you've failed to prove the initial assertion that snyder ever alludes
You asked how Snyder alludes to larger themes through religious symbolism I explained that he uses to draw allusions between Christ and nietzschean philosophy to draw back to the main theme and to also present in a light similar to our increasing polarized world. If that doesn't answear your initial question than your just trying not to like the movie in the most contrarian way plausible. The thing that's made the movie so liked is that there are multiple ways themes and angles in the movies to analyze.

this is clearly your video

please try to be subtle when shilling

Again, those aren't larger themes. They're _the_ themes. They're the completely obvious and overt themes directly being established by the use of religious imagery.

I'm asking for how the use of religious imagery alludes to larger themes. You've done nothing but illustrate the completely flat, surface level, completely overt themes.

I just hate Lex Luthor so much. That faggot wannabe joker ruins the movie more than anything else.

>I just hate Lex Luthor so much.
what a fucking pleb. Eisenberg should have gotten an Oscar for his performance. fuck the haters

The religious symbolism used to draw the connections between the Christ allegory and as a device to contrast the nietzschean philosophy is used to present the theory of christus victor, a theory of atonement, and what the death of Christ/cross would achieve. The prophecy, is battle that takes place between the Son of Man and the Satan that would play out with Jesus and the devil ultimately striking each other simultaneously. We see this theologically rich metaphor played out in the end of bvs. We see the theroy expressed through other symbols such as the spear of batman being the spear of the Roman soldiers killing Christ and superman using it to kill doomsday shows even further that they are incorporating the theory to help express the divine exchange Jesus commited. The nietzschean theme being expressed is contrasted with the religious symbolism to highlight the idea man did create God in his own image but rather he created the devil in response to God's presence. The literal translation of übermench being superman

I know, I know my English isn't that great

>If God is all-powerful, he can't be all-good.
Okay, this could be interesting. Maybe something about how power corrupts? The freedom to make your own rules makes you disregard those of others?

>Because if he is all-good, then he can't be all-powerful.
Wait, WHAT?! This doesn't actually follow and it's just turned the whole thing into a terrible circle of bad reasoning.

Is this seriously what people think is good writing?

People fail to understand the brilliance of BvS because they can't think like a genius who is plagued by his own intelligence and demons. When Batman hears the name "Martha", he doesn't go "wow his mom has the same name as my mom", he goes "Whatever this alien has gone through in his life...he has become human." When Lex talks, it's because his narcissism and ego have convinced him he is as close to god as he can, and the presence of Niezche's Ubermensch threatens his status as a living god. He is scared, and it's the first time he's been scared since his father was alive.

Essentially, reddit doesn't understand the psychopath unless he's yelling out CHIMICHANGA or WUB A LUB A DUB DUB

Why do people act like this flick is so complicated?

This movie literally has a scene in the middle of the movie where it cuts to Perry White in his office yelling about where Clark Kent is. Any logical film would obviously then cut to Clark Kent doing Clark Kent things or being Superman.

But no it cuts to Lois Lane. Why? Bad editing.

If bad editing, ham fisted religious diatribes, and religious imagery make a film kino. Then around 80% of capeshit is kino.

Marvel and DC are both trash.

But Snyder trash is the worst. Because it thinks its smart, when in reality it isn't and people like you assume because it isn't well received is because it's too smart for everyone else.

This movie will be forgot in 5 years.

And those who think Snyder is the modern Kubrick have to be brain dead.

Snyder can frame great shots, yeah cool.

Listen to his commentaries. He has no insight. He literally made things up on the day of shoots because he thought they looked cool.

He is a frat boy who pretends to love Ayn Rand objectivist trash.

Stop shilling this trash.

Oh by the way The Secret Life of Pets made more money then this garbage.

Also you have to love how people spout out that Zack Snyder is some auteur film maker. Yet his Justice league has the exact same formula as that shit Avengers movie.

-Mcguffin cubes need to be found.
-Big primary color villain wants them
-Sends his subordinate with a horned helmet to retrieve it.
-Army of grey worthless CGI soldiers
-Heroes fight

Hell I wont be surprised if Snyder has the exact same reveal for Darkseid as Thanos.

Fuck capeshit is cancer

Only neckbeards on Sup Forums call him that.

>primary colours
>in a snyder capeshit

user please, it'll be a dark monotone grey or black villain

>this one cut was bad, therefore I have objective proof the whole movies bad
This is what marvelshills actually think

Then Superman Returns is ultra Kino.

Oh and if you say otherwise its because you dont get it

>Man of steel, structured around platos republic
>Bvs, structured around the bible and nietzsches philosophical writings
b-but justice league will be marvel tier.
See the picture from

>this doesn't cut the way I think it should so it's bad

I've literally never made the argument that people disliked bvs because they didn't get. They disliked it because they saw the objectivity worst theatrical cut or had preconceived notions and hated it before seeing it.

YOu realize this wasnt directed by Bryan Singer right?

SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THE FUCK THEIR HANDS DO NOT CONNECT WHEN SUPERMAN TRIES TO PUNCH BATMAN AND HE BLOCKS IT

>The X-men are also a stand in for Jews,
They stand for anyone thats different.

They were created to represent the Civil Rights movement.

Martin Luther King = Prof. X
Malcolm X= Magneto

Fact.

Funny dont remember Jesus ever breaking anyones neck.

Whats the religious imagery of Superman letting Jimmy Olsen die? Then saving Lois Lane and then killing a middle eastern man by throwing him through like 5 stone walls

How are these too smart for everyone? Every single person ive talked to about this understood the imagery.

doesnt stop it from being a bad movie.

It doesnt deserve its RT score. But it doesnt deserve much higher

Funny because you all hate Max Landis and Eisenberg has said he based his mannerisms off of Landis

I never ever said it was too smart for anyone. He asked me about the religious symbols and I explained it.

I was explaining the scenes that were based off religious/theological moments. Some of the scenes serve different elements other than to be solely a a comparison to Jesus. For example in certain scenes superman parallels Joseph and in others the archangel Michael

So having religious imagery that is obvious to well everyone makes this a good movie? okay got it.

Maybe if it was more subtle I could agree. The Death of Superman was always a story that was supposed to be about the crucifixion.

Pretending Snyder did something groundbreaking by having him stabbed by a spear as well is bullshit.

Superman has always been an allegory for Jesus.

Maybe if in Snyders films they showed him doing whatever he could do to truly save others it would work better.

ha implying anything Marvel has made is good.

This is the biggest problem with the defense of this film. If you dont like it, that means you must love Marvel.

Marvel is trash.

Ive always appreciated DC characters more but they are just as trash.

I think it's the mixture of religious allegory mixed with the nietzsche to mirror our political climate is what people liked not just the messiah allegory.

The point of the spear was to suggest the theory of christus victor which suggest Jesus consciously knew what his sacrifice would do and sought it out. Having superman himself plunge the spear in doomsday to sacrifice himself suggest Jesus willingness to sacrifice himself to save man from sin

It's honestly just a meme to bring up marvel shills in these discussions. Only autist from Sup Forums take it seriously. But one of the reasons why bvs is liked because it actually did something different than marvels template that a lot of people are sick of.

can anyone shop harry potter's face on this poster please ?

again, dude, for the fourth time, you've just reiterated the very basic themes established by the imagery. You've yet to quantify at all any sort of "larger theme" the imagery was alluding to.

Give me an example of what you mean then

That's a really good poster

this is the only decent scene in the whole movie
