White man takes land from Indians

>White man takes land from Indians
>(((They))) take land from white man
>heroes of the movie work to distribute justice

Is this /our movie/ ?

Yes. MOTY 2016

Never seen a western?

No one is going to remember this movie.

Wait when did they give the land back to the Indians?

Why did the movie lol at the fact that the brother killed a bunch of innocent people?

Didn't really on the count that he got killed

The movie revels in and justifies his murders and suicide-by-cop actions just so Chris Pine can continue staring at a half-mile of dirt.

yes

All style but no substance the movie. It's Sup Forums's movie according to OP, but not /ourmovie/ since Sup Forums actually has good taste.

overrated trash

lol did you even watch the movie you sassy child

>no actual arguments
ok, bud

Okay. The movie tries so hard to subvert expectations and cliches that it forgot to have payoffs. Also ironically filled with cliches.
>old casually racist stoic white guy but will get to show his heart of gold and emotionality when his minority side kick dies (literally every Clint Eastwood movie)
>Member cowboys and injuns westerns? What if what if like we make it in modern times with the same characters and plot that's been beat to death? Haha so ebin and fresh.
>what if we make heros' crimes justified with currently relevant issues? Haha big bad banks amirite? Dude housing crisis was so evil. Lel.
>member big final showdown in westerns? Naw too obvious, it'll be ebin if the characters just talk instead instead of shooting. Haha totally psyched you.
It's shit and overrated by plebs.

Didn't even watch it

(You) forgot the part where the sheriff was actually harboring feelings for his pahd nah

wait he was gay?

You have to be an unremarkable middle class philistine to think this movie was good.

Or just want a movie-length episode of Sons of Anarchy

Same qualifier for SoA.

LET THE WORLD CALL ME A FOOL!

WHEN THINGS AINT RIGHT BETWEEN ME AND YOU

Yes, I should have made that more clear. The two things are remarkably similar and seem to share the same core audience.

what the fuck happened?

Texas seems like a fucking wild place

Most movies are based on the same basic plots. Disregarding a great narrative job because it's plot is not fundamentally new is dumb

It does more than most movies, but the film is still boring porn for film plebs.

>No Country teased the specter of cosmic (and comic) nihilism, impressing audiences with cleverness yet leaving them desolate. But Mackenzie and Sheridan start out with a sense of home-grown desolation. They reverse the Coens’ process, bringing realism to myth and connecting the Howards’ anti-social grievance to the weary, old-fashioned pragmatism of white Texas Ranger Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and his bi-racial deputy, Alberto Parker (Gil Birmingham).

>All genre movies are contrived, but both Hell or High Water and Blood Father dramatize genuine emotion. Chris Pine’s intense, suffering movie-star blue eyes (as bright and romantic as Gibson’s used to be) match the gravity of Bridges’s and Birmingham’s lived-in humor and cynicism. Their complicated differences meet in a final scene — a moral draw — that defines how we live today.

>Individual and communal American realities distinguish Hell or High Water and Blood Father. Toby laments, “I been poor my whole life. It’s like a disease passing from generation to generation.” And in Blood Father, screenwriter Andrea Berloff (Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center) reveals another political truth: “This country even turns radicals into commodities.” These two modern westerns confide the toughest Obama-era observations that Hollywood has yet dared. Better than the Coens’ slick treatment of hipster pessimism, these unpretentious B-movies speak truth to hipness.

I hated this movie but I can see a lot of merit to this criticism.

I don't know what any of that means but I enjoyed the movie.

>plot
I spoke mostly of characterization and storytelling technique. I didn't even get to the retarded plot because that's too basic.

nice

Shitty movie, reminds me of the way people on here never stop going on about shitty Sicario.
At least Sicario had that one continuous scene near the beginning.

Yeah this is a good example of false-Kino.
