Why wouldn’t he want the greatest job in the world? Because it’s a fuck ton of work for very little pay off. As President he would have to:
• Work 20 hours a day, literally. Even on vacation, Presidents typically work 8 hours a day and are on call 24 hours a day.
• Earn 400k/year, which is big bucks to us, but little to a CEO, who typically earns north of 10 million / year. And it’s nothing but fuck off pixie dust to a billionaire investor like Trump.
• Be a constant lightning rod for criticism and hatred every day for four straight years.
He started the campaign just to get more publicity for his reality TV show, which he always said that the intended to start after the Presidency (translation: after his Presidential bid failed). With all those Republican candidates in the field, he knew he wouldn’t win. So he signed up. And he engaged in battle.
But because his brain is wired to win at all times and at all costs, he just couldn’t bring himself to throw a match, even if he knew, intellectually, that it meant that he couldn’t drop out of the race. Like an addict, he ran on auto-pilot and kept winning and winning, bout after bout, like a man who couldn’t control himself. But deep down, he was screaming “Help me!”
But now he’s at the cliff’s edge. He’ll have to quit his bid very soon. He’ll put Pence in as his replacement. Best part: For Trump, it’ll STILL be a win-win situation. Why?
If Pence wins the Presidency, Trump can say that the GOP won because he sacrificed himself for the greater good. What a great, selfless man! And if Pence, loses, Trump can say that it’s the republican establishment’s fault, and that the GOP would have won, if only they had unified behind him and allowed him to continue.
TL;DR - All you faggots got taken for a ride. NO WALL FOR YOU.
