More Aeon Cux lmao

I was supposed to see this in like 6th grade for my friend's birthday but instead his cousin convinced everyone to see Rent.

All I remember from Rent was that a girl flashed her ass towards the end and there was some stuff about homosex and AIDS and shit

I rewatched it a couple years ago for the first time since its original run when I was a kid. Still doesn't make much sense. It's great to look at, though. Kinda like a Tarsem Singh flick.

The mute shorts are very good. The real episodes are good too but a little less so. Certain episodes were amazing though like Thanataphobia and Ether Drift Theory.

Considering the format they originally aired in I think that's par the course.

Liquid Television was basically a collage of animator reels and other weirs stuff

>I was supposed to see this in like 6th grade for my friend's birthday but instead his cousin convinced everyone to see Rent.

I'm dying. What a fucking shitty cousin. Who thinks seeing fucking Rent is good viewing for a 6th grade boys birthday party?

Big fan. I feel bad tho, since almost none of my friends remember it from mtv.

>Æon Flux? Was there a chick with big boobs?
>y-yes, b-but...

I find it so strange and distant, that I actually never mention it when talking about shows and animation. It's kinda beyond that.

The movie had some good stuff in it, but all in all was crappy. Seeing how modern cinema and remakes are doing, I'd hate to see another remake.

Well his cousin was a female so there you have it.

A Last Time For Everything is probably my fav episode

i watched it recently, made me feel some kind of way, indescribable

It was pretty good but I had more favored liquid television segments

>that's par the course

>strange and distant

Good way to put it. His other show, Alexander (aka Reign: The Conqueror) wound up there by the end, too.

>made me feel some kind of way, indescribable

exactly

It means that it's just the way it is. The show was probably meant to be more visually interesting than make sense in a story telling sense.

the movie was SHIT

but the cartoon was and remains pretty solid - weird, at times intentionally off putting, but always crescent fresh

reddit flux

>crescent fresh

Fuckin' hell. MTV oldfags up in here.

Man I remember when this was stickied on Sup Forums around 2010 or so

one of those where I don't recommend or tell anyone I've watched it for how off putting it might make them think of me if they googled it.

yeah that took a fucking trip at the end im glad i got to see it on tv though

>how off putting it might make them think of me if they googled it.

I doubt someone will actually understand it, if they haven't at least heard of it. The very reason that it stands out from the convenient mainstream animation style, confuses people and they get scared. I doubt that specifically Æon Flux will make people thing something out of ordinary about you. Try them with Superjail or some other over the top shit like that.

I guess you are around your 30s, so people you meet should have similar experience with the pop culture they grew up with. Try explaining mtv shows to shits born after 95'. I've tried..more than once. I've been called an old man more than once. I'm only 28. I remember Æon Flux vaguely when it originally aired. But I saw it again in the late 90's. Watched everything, over and over again around 2009-2010. Still watch occasionally an episode or two, when in the mood. That's right. You have to be in the mood for this show. I usually have it around Autumn.

Uh man, I remember watching Daria and B&B and had nobody to talk to about it, cause everyone was watching Beast Wars..fug

loool my man i'm only 19, so the second part applies. nothing to be ashamed of, just nothing to be going around telling others about it as well.

>The movie had some good stuff in it, but all in all was crappy. Seeing how modern cinema and remakes are doing, I'd hate to see another remake.

try making a big hollywood film and telling the investors "it doesn't make any sense, that's the appeal". see how far you get.

lol, you are a good news then

If you can't make it - don't. I liked it tho, besides its flaws. It was better than nothing back then. That's where got into Charlize Theron. What a time to be alive.

The Liquid TV shorts were superb
Never been anything quite like them

...

>he doesnt know what a par of a course is
based retards

...

What was the point of her dying in every Liquid TV short? Was each one a different clone? Each story set in a different universe? That shit puzzled the fuck out of me.

I have the box set it's kino as fuck very philosophical. last time I watched it I was smoking lots of meth with my friend and he started getting really scared because aeon was being sexual with a young boy and I was saying "dude I don't remember this episode I've seen all the episodes multiple times" it was fun we were getting all noided and scared.

Inb4 the autist posts his Reddit image

It was designed as a parody of all the X-TREME comics and cartoons in the 90s, the shorts weren't really meant to be developed too much. Ultimately it's about Trevor Goodchild and the war with Monica and all this stuff, but none of that actually mattered.

what reddit image?

Watching this show was like watching a really great porno and then suddenly there would be a hardcore fucked up fetish scene in the middle of it and you weren't sure if you were supposed to fap or turn it off.

Was he gonna fuck that kid? He looks real mad when the alarm goes off.

this is the kind of shit that happens when you fail a QTE in games.

One from the movie to finish

Earlier some guy spammed every thread that had the word "kino" in the op a picture of the Reddit alien.

puddipuddipuddipuddi

This one's good.

Spoiler that shit

Fuck I remember that one

That movie was a terrible adaptation of Aeon Flux though. It's one of those movies that was like, "What was she thinking?"

The 30 minute episodes were 2deep4me, but I did enjoy the shorts.

they also thought the idea would be interesting for short animations to make it different

This show gave me a snuff fetish

r u me?
Same age, same experience. Never had anyone else who I could talk about these shows with. Beavis and Butthead gets some recognition sometimes, though.

Is Aeon Flux the only non-comedy adult oriented Western cartoon?

Still can't believe the same guy made rugrats

Spawn is good, just started watching it as some one put the whole thing on youtube and I found it after watch some shlock anime movies.

animated rugrats, not made.

also mtv bruddahs in here, get on myspleen and get your fuckin MAXX, THE HEAD, brothers grunt, beavis and butthead, daria etc.

now if only someone would upload a full mtv oddities block, i would be happy.

People can only differ so much, there's always a limit.

Maxx was..weird? I mean it was quite dark, but it had its goofy moments.

Great shit, very nice atmosphere and depictions of weirdo future. It was like mix of ancient rome, dune, moebius and all kinds of surreal and dreamlike things

you just can't transfer aeon flux on film properly, it was stupid thing anyway. Things like architecture, color scheme and grotesque-sexy -characters add huge amount to cartoons strangeness

something's just don't belong on film

I think the point of his snarky emoji picture was to draw attention to the fact that the saying is actually "Par FOR the course." Idiot.

same dude who made aeon flux made the rugrats. if you watch older episode of the rugrats you'll see a very similar animation and even weird story style between the two.

Chucky french kisses Phil and Lil

I have the high ground Anakin, don't try it.

>that episode where Trevor tries to enslave the demiurge

Crazy shit.

Are there any movies like Aeon Flux?

Surreal, disjointed, unique setting, unique technology, grotesque imagery, and so on.

I saw 1 episode of this long ago on MTV. Scantily clad chick, gunbattling w/ unknowns while traversing an unfinished building.
The Amurrican version of Section 9?

I loved it

I miss crazy unique things like that
the 90s where really special

>the 90s where really special

Fuck this, I'm pouring alcohol..

Same

Is there some way to watch Liquid Television episodes these days?

I watched all the episodes on kisscartoon, too bad that shit just shut down
