>Implying Sup Forums knows how to discuss a film beyond talking about how cute the girls are

...

to all the 8 year olds who don't understand it, by the 12 year year olds who just graduated from "capekino"

>HEY JUDE starts playing

25 actually & while I like the Dceu, the kino fags are god damn cancer who can burn the fuck in hell.
The symbolism was a microscopic part of Mos and has no barring on its quality or lack there of.

Have you been to Sup Forums? Its full of retards, i remember trying to discuss Mushi-shi but they dont seem to be interested in anything other than "moe" shit.

you missed the point capeshiter. grow up and watch more film

Not a bad explanation, but like most Eva explanations, it barely scratches the surface and jumps to a few incorrect conclusions.

The first paragraph is fine. Perfect even. Only comment is a lot of that info isn't from Eva itself, but instead from supplimental material. I'd leave most of it out because it's not really necessary for someone just watching the show.

Second paragraph I noticed a couple things. First being that shinji doesn't "deny the situation". The congratulations scene is quite the opposite, it's him accepting the realities of life, both the good and the bad, essentially being the exact moment he rejects instromentality. You can even see this reflected in End of Evangelion. Right here, as matter of fact: youtu.be/z4-Q5mH6EaM
"I want to see them again. At the time, I know my feelings were real" and then smash cut to Lilith being killed. Notice the cloud backdrop and image with shinji and his friends. It's a direct tie-in to episode 26s ending. They happen at the same time.

Also regarding shinji strangling Asuka, while I do agree with your theory, it's still unconfirmed exactly why Anno had him strangling her. There is just no straight answer so it shouldn't be painted like you are. It will always be up for interpretation

>When your composer writes beautiful songs but you do not use them cause you are depressed
youtube.com/watch?v=Q7y8U29bfzE

Can someone explain this meme

the song that plays sounds like Hey Jude

One last thing, like all Eva explanations, it's leaving things out like Reis origins, the importance of kawaru, etc. Still pretty solid though

>tfw Sup Forums has become such a shitty hive mind that you get better anime discussion on Sup Forums

People really think this? I don't hear it at all.

This whole time I thought there was an inside joke I didn't get. I'm let down

This has always been true for every board, really. Sup Forums has the best anime threads, Sup Forums has the best video game threads, Sup Forums has the best comic and cartoon threads etc.

It's because the users of the boards the threads belong to are so fucking jaded they could never have a genuine conversation.

when you ignore every serious movie discussion thread because you're a huge anime and capeshit watching pleb, it makes sense you might think that

Kek. Are you seriously going to debate that Sup Forums and Sup Forums don't have better Godzilla threads, capeshit threads, etc? I'll give you this, Sup Forums is the only board with posters experienced enough to properly discuss arthouse and a lot of impactful films, but those threads are so few and far between it hardly is worth noting

I don't browse video game and cartoon boards. Maybe you're right about those.

the horns literally take the melody wholesale for a second there, when it gets going, and it's a structural 1:1 copy

>The congratulations scene is quite the opposite, it's him accepting the realities of life
But he hasn't accepted it, he is still in Instrumentality.
I don't recall anything in 26 implying he is going to undo or fix what has happened to the world.

because the show isnt about "what has happened to the world" it's about someone coming to terms with how to cope with existence

This. The last 2 episodes were a character study.
It's not Shinji coming to terms with instrumentality, its Shinji coming to terms with who he is and that he should accept himself, flaws and all.

Basically this:
We don't even know the world is ending in the show because that's not really the important part. We see the context of it in EoE when we realize that is him coming g to terms with himself and the world, realizing you need the bad to have the good, and rejecting instromentality

>He is still in instrumentality
It's been a while, but isn't he only still in there for a couple more minutes after that scene? It's basically just wrapping up and he's getting some final closure from his mother before the beach scene. Even if it's not the exact end of instrumentality, it's the catalyst that causes it to end

>the man child boards discuss man child shit
I fucking hate Sup Forumseddit so much. If you browse Sup Forums you have a mental deficiency

When will you guys get over yourselves and realize that Sup Forums is garbage as a whole and most boards are just as bad as each other with minor exceptions?

I don't browse Sup Forums, but I have been there enough to know it's exactly the same as this board

but it hurts while it happening

...

>when she don't give you the succ because of you're pit stains

That's hot coffre

>Chinese cartoons

The city of Sup Forumsmblr, everybody

...

DELETE THIS GARBAGE TOO JANNY
IF COWBOY BEBOP ISN'T ALLOWED THIS SHIT SHOULDN'T
GO FUCK YOURSELF

>mods are purging anime threads even though they create some of the best discussion this board has ever seen

But please, leave up the countless rick and morty and bill nye shitpost threads, you fucking morons.

Old /tg/ will forever be the holy grail of Sup Forums posting. Sup Forums in general before 2007 when the userbase was about 1% of what it is now was so massively different. I miss the days of being able to follow every thread on Sup Forums or Sup Forums because the board actually moved slow enough to do so. Now we have 3x the number of boards and you can barely formulate a reply longer than a paragraph on most of them before they 404.

Humans are made of TANGerines

The janitors sometimes delete anime threads and sometimes don't and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to what they're doing. They refuse to clarify if anime is allowed and under what conditions. They intentionally want to keep people in a state of FUD for who knows what reason.

This occurred to me too. You are the first person to bring it up that I've heard

Anime shows with cinema premiered movies should be allowed on Sup Forums

Anime only premiered in japanese tv shouldn't be allowed here tho.

What order do I watch this shit in

Even after watching the rebuilds the art still looks off to me. It just doesn't fit the franchise

26 episode series (Neon Genesis Evangelion) then the movie (The End of Evangelion)

Everything else is completely optional

thx lad

Every episode of the show (1-26) and then the film End of Evangelion. That is the way it was made to be watched and that is the way it was released

The TV show episodes 1-26
and End of Evangelion.

Skip Death and Rebirth, it's just a clip show. There's also the Rebuilds which are remakes/reboots but aren't necessary.

In the rebuilds, there is a scene where Asuka tries to slap Rei but is stopped. She sees the bandaids on Rei's hand greatly outnumber her own. They both got hurt trying to cook for Shinji, but Rei hurt herself a lot more because she is a silly autist. This makes Asuka decide to go pilot the new experimental evangelion on the day of the dinner because she realized Rei was willing to hurt herself to make Shinji happy. This is later realized when Rei gets absorbed into the angel trying to make sure Shinji never had to fight again.

>Asuka

In end of Evangelion, when Rei is going around breaking down A.T. fields, she only ever manifests herself as people who have died. Perhaps she can appear as the living, but that is not shown. She appears as Misato, Ritsuko, and Asuka, among others, who all have passed on before the climax.

For most people, love would be enough for your to open the wall of your heart and let her in, as it did for the two employees who had crushes on their bosses. But for other people, she has to use other tricks. She basically just brute forced her way into that one guy's field using fear as the emotional vehicle. For Gendo, well, I think it was guilt, but they also didn't take him into instrumentality, his corpse was the only one left on the ground that didn't evaporate out of the whole planet.

And for Shinji, it was anger. Rei appeared in the form of Asuka and got him to strangle her.

Also is the dub ok or should I get the subs?

Childhood traumas and fears are often manifest themselves as fetishes in adults. Fear and sexual arousal are tied very closely together, resulting in such fetishes as bondage. In Asuka's case, her trauma revolved around her mother strangling her, and this left a deep impression in her psyche, which guided her every move and action. The brash, brazen, and boastful Asuka was all a subconscious manifestion of her hidden desire. It was her way of getting what she truly wanted. Getting desperate, she tried to telegraph this more deliberately to Shinji, when she forcibly kissed him and held his nose shut, but became more aggravated than ever when he didn't get her message. Shinji only finally realized what Asuka had been seeking the whole time once he entered her mind and saw a fight they once had, but it ended differently in Asuka's head. He, for the first time, saw what Asuka had been after the whole time. When he is born again on the shores of the red sea, Asuka is beside him, and he rolls over and wraps his hands tightly around her neck, and she caresses him gently, for finally providing what she had longed for all this time.

>"Oh no Shinji's in trouble, quick send him more useless firearms!"

I'd still break though her AT field if you know what I mean.

The dub is pretty good

Asuka a best
A BEST

>one of the redos has the evas stopping people from aging, trapping asuka and rei in the bodies of 14 year old girls for the rest of their lives

>this is a bad thing

... in reality nerv would've had a secondary source of income from rich bitches wanting to be young forever.

It jumps around in quality. There are a few minor characters who sound aweful but everyone important sounds great and you will eventually get used to those minor characters. I did the dub my first viewing with no regrets, and now having seen the sub too, I would recommend the English dub

The dub is sufficient. Not the greatest because the voice actors were just anime fans they pulled from the street.

What the fuck, Sup Forums being cordial and helpful?
Is anime /oursavior/?

The curse of Eva is a meta joke referring to the fact they are cartoon characters who never age.

Sup Forums is actually fantastic at discussing anime

Better than Sup Forums for sure

watch them in the order they came out you retard
never watch dubs of anything unless you do it ironically like with Godzilla or kung fu movies

I'd say lurk more newfag but this is stuff that literally every human being should be able to figure out

because Sup Forums only discusses the 4 or 5 anime series that are any good

Every board on this website is better at discussing things that are not their respective main theme

Watch episode 1 -> 13
Then 25 -> 26
>Then 14 -> 24
Then EOA

An anime isn't bad just because you've never heard of it or because it isn't precision-engineered for Western consumption.

Sup Forums discussing porn is top kino threads

anime is generally bad

Jesus fucking christ

why in fuck would you do that

I'm not going to watch Evangelion until Hollywood does a live action version and casts a lot of white people in it.

it literally is

Then so is everything else.

It literally isn't.

everything is generally bad. But, anime's been in a really bad downswing for the last two decades now, though.

kys

>anime's been in a really bad downswing for the last two decades now, though
Meme.

I bet you can't list 10 good anime shows without including some mediocre at best garbage

Why is this garbage off topic thread still up, swaglord

I can, but I won't because this is a trap.

I bet I cant list 10 good anime shows without you blindly chosing one you have heard of and calling it shit just to support your argument, regardless of it's actual quality

I would go hiking with Asuka in the winding hills of Japan and she would sprain her ankle and I would have to give her a piggy back ride back down to the cabin. Slowly, she would slip down, from resting her hands on my shoulder and propping herself up, closer and closer, until she wrapped her arms around my chest and her red hair gently drapes around my head like a curtain, cutting off sight and sound from anything besides her soft breathing in my ear. Slowly, one of her soft hands would rise up and caress my cheek, before slowly guiding it to her waiting pillowy pink lip's embrace and kiss me sweetly.

Cat Planet Cuties

I'll start the list for you:

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Evangelion
Berserk

You're talking to caleb aka Rica patin the tourist that replies to everything.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Ghost in the Shell
Paranoia Agent

So you were going to say elfen lied, and you can't think of another show in it's place, and you know what people think of elfen lied?

Welcome to the NHK
JoJo
Attack on Titan
"muh mainstream"

No because Elfen lied is garbage

>Then so is everything else.
ummm no
films, for instance. those are good.
