13 reasons why

Just finished watching this show, did any of you faggots like it? I actually ended feeling genuinely bad for the chick in the poetry episode and the one with Clay, that was hard to watch. The ending just seemed gay as fuck, though, with him talking to the emo chick cause he's going to save her next or whatever. Not to mention it had the "storm off midway through a conversation for cheap drama" problem that a lot of shows have. Overall I give it 8/10. I originally started watching it cause I wanted to watch the suicide scene but then I ended up watching the whole thing.

Anyone else want to share their opinions?

I'm in love with Hannah.

She was a qt, yes.

I hated the scene where she was about to go on a date with the black guy, and talking to clay about it at the movie theater, and the faggot was so oblivious to her hints that he should ask her out instead, it was angering me how blind he was to this cute chick wanting his cock, I am a 22 year old virgin and even I can detect such blaringly obvious signals.

I feel exactly the same. Like what the fuck were the scenes in the roof when they watched the moon or when Clay escorted Hannah home and he fucking hugged her instead of kissing? Both were the perfect times to go for the kiss and he fucked it up. It's unrealistic, I'm a socially awkward KHV but even I would have realised to go in for the kiss at those moments. It pisses me off and frustrates me to no end, so I guess the show did its job.

I'm in love with Hannah.

The worst part is that they present him as socially awkward even though he is (1) witty, albeit in a pretty boring way, (2) at least a 6/10 but that can be written off as hollywood, (3) the skinny kid but his biceps are bigger than mine, (4) a socially awkward """"loser"""" yet three different girls want his cock throughout the show.

>talking to the emo chick cause he's going to save her
no he's not , the whole show clay is socially retarded, dosnt say what he wants and is a beta faggot . it is implied at more then one point that he wanted to hang out with skye but just assumed she didnt want to because she didnt approach him while she assumed the exact same thing .
at the end of the season clay is fed up with his betaness and just flat out and bluntly says whatever he wants to anyone.

that, my senpai is a character's story arc. if clay of a year before the show's time had the mentality of clay at the end of the show it wouldnt be '13 reasons why' it would be 'balls deep in hannah's aass 13 times a day' .

enjoy these moments guys, Sup Forumsacks are coming...

THEY
ARE
COMING...

he wasn't oblivious , just too beta . happened to me all the time senpai although its usually with girls im not interested with and rejecting them after a semi-ambiguous hint seems to invite more awkwardness so i just did nothing receiving hint after hint , makes me cringe for both me and the girl now desu.

Yeah that makes sense.

It's impossible to be that beta. She is literally begging for his cock in that scene, it's fucking pathetic.

Did anyone understand what the deal was with the stalker kid's gun collection? Is he planning to shoot up the school? Was there a book this was based on that might explain in more detail? I had thought the scene at the end was going to be him murdering someone else but then the albino kid who i thought was gay for 4 episodes, turned out to have shot himself. The stalker kid had a tec9 in his crate though which just screams school shooter. I can't tell if it was just left intentionally vague or if there was some subtext there i was meant to pick up on.

>he finally takes the hint and is going to give her the dick
>GET THE FUCK OUT

what the fuck was her problem?

This

its painfully obvious in retrospect or while watching from a third person perspective but when you're in that situation betaness fucks with your brain .
she also isnt without blame , girls for some reason believe that going on dates with lots of different guys will make the guy you like wanna ask you out. while for a faggot like clay it just seems like she has zero interest in him so she goes with marcus and justin.

teenagers are retarded

I also thought Tyler was going to either murder one of the jocks or shoot up the school. I guess it's for next season. Alex shooting himself was a surprise to me, I thought Justin was going to off himself at the end.

bad writing, they needed a reason to make Clay "too good for her"

Yes. Overall it's definitely the best high school drama show I've ever watched (I've watched a hell of a lot of them)

Probably the best Netflix show honestly

My only issue really is the ending, this is not a show that needs another 5 seasons like I think they're going to do. It only needed these 13 episodes, and it could have all been resolved without those stringing plot points (Justin leaving the city, Tyler about to go full Columbine, Alex blowing his head off) in a meaningful way

At best they should have a 2 hour, double episode special that wraps everything up and leave it like that. End the show on a truly perfect note,

better than the first 4 seasons of Skins?

>I guess it's for next season

WTF, there's another season of this? I thought they were actually doing a proper 1-shot series and not fucking it up by dragging it out until they are beating a dead-horse's abortion. Oh well.

>its painfully obvious in retrospect or while watching from a third person perspective but when you're in that situation betaness fucks with your brain .

You and I know that, but that's because of /r9k/-tier autism which the writers have no concept of (made clear by their attempts to create a "socially awkward" character.)

Yeah season 2 is coming apparently. I didn't like season 1 so i don't give a fuck if they drag this plot further. I thought some of the reasons were forced and the kids' reactions were a little bit too much for me to believe them

if Clay is a socially awkward character I'm the Pope. Clearly high IQ, has some friends, on the school council, top of his class, is asked to tutor a jock, has a job during spare time...Imagine if he was a proper Shinji.

Yes, I would say it's better than Skins

I'm only going to watch it if Tyler goes full Columbine. I had him pegged for a school shooter from the moment I saw his hair. I will probably have forgotten about this show in another couple of weeks, I only watched it because I used to want to kill myself and thought the suicide scene would be good but in reality I just ended up getting annoyed that she picked THE most female method out there, and also one of the more painful.

contrary to how it seems while you have it yourself and you're in highschool , social retardation and beta faggotery is extremely common at that age and nearly every single person has it or displays it in some way . nearly all of the asshole moves made by the tape dudes were made out of highschool insecurities .
>the writers have no concept of
everyone has a concept of this because everyone knew\was a faggot like clay at some point .

>Probably the best Netflix show honestly

Better than House of Cards or the Lemony Snicket series? (though that one is really only good for nostalgia)

>THE most female method out there

no that's the book, where she takes pills

Hannah I feel needed to get over some of the stuff that happened, But get the story was it all piled on.

I enjoyed it a lot but it's frustrating that neither Clay or Hannah ever said how they felt about each other. Probably could save them a lot of grief and her life.

Did it make you want to kill yourself?

Apparently the world is on suicide watch because of this show.

I haven't read the book, but yeah I'll give you that. Pills are at least a good method, IF you use the right ones. Also I think they make less of a mess than a shotgun, except for you shitting yourself and what not. But slitting your wrists? Fucking why. Do your parents not own rope? Hanging hurts much less as far as I know.

>Did it make you want to kill yourself?

I felt sympathy for her and despite how retarded some of her actions were, I did understand why she did it in the end. Made me think about my own suicidal feelings a little bit, but all this "get help" fucking "talk to someone and make a connection" bullshit pissed me off so much I spent more time thinking about that. I really hate every anti-suicide campaign in the world because they get it all wrong. The show for all its bluntness was not as cynical as I had hoped: in reality usually no one gives a fuck about the suicidal kid, that's why he was suicidal, and everyone just cries croc tears to virtue-signal. At least that's how it was at my school. I also remember when "Rachel's Challenge" (some anti-bullying shit from the chick who died in Columbine) came to our school it pissed me off so much I wrote an essay about it and left it all over the school to trigger the teachers.

yeah that's fair. I keep forgetting they are high school kids

kek

apparently the reasoning from the showrunners is that they didn't want to portray suicide as easy or painless, because on some level they had to know the "message" of the show was "if you kill yourself everyone will be really sorry and it's a great way to get back at everyone who ever hurt you or even slightly annoyed you!"

ok i admit i sperged out a bit there, I just hate the entire anti-suicide infrastructure, and this show just seems to support it more.

>"if you kill yourself everyone will be really sorry and it's a great way to get back at everyone who ever hurt you or even slightly annoyed you!"

In some ways that is true, though. I guarantee if someone implicated you in their suicide like that you would feel pretty fucked up.

That said they could have showed her chocking on the rope or something it would have been about as bad. I just don't understand why she would pick such a painful method when she didn't seem to be suiciding out of actual self-hatred. It was a major plot hole for me, idk.

this, that's why the suicide scene hurt so much.

I didn't really like it. A lot of the time characters are acting in really retarded ways. Clay and Hannah are both incredibly unlikable and stupid. Was okay I guess 5/10.

>dad is a pharmacist
>easy access to pills
>kills self with razors in an extraordinarily painful way despite this

0/5

It hurt because I fucking hurts to kill yourself like that, jesus christ.

This.

Is everyone here autistic? I was referring to myself obviously.

so what's this flick about?
/r9k/?

>Dumb boring chick does basic bitch shit.
>Kills self
>Beta lapdog finds out why

*teleports behind you*

I know. And also the fact that you are in love with a TV show character is autistic in itself.

This show is terrible and I watched it because I like terrible things and shitposting.

The real reason this show sucks is because Hannah is a winy attention seeking cunt whose problems are primarily a result of her own behavior, but the show is unaware of this. Her decision to kill herself portrayed as tragic, and its very much the 13 fuckers fault, not her own. The few people in the show to speak against this are portrayed as wrong.

Not him but not autism, just the effect of crippling loneliness and numerous rejections.

I wouldn't go that far. But it's up there with skins (Gen 1 and 2) no doubt.

honestly the reasons hannah killed herself are pretty stupid but the over all message of the show that plays out in the end is perfect

>hannah kills herself because everyones too focused on other things, they dont see/notice her increasing symptoms of suicidal tendencies

>we didnt realize alex had suicidal tendencies because we were so focused on hannah, but through out the show his symptoms increase gradually, and there are many cues and hints at his inevitable demise

people watching the show were thinking "oh i could so tell hannah was suicidal" but it was right in front of our faces with alex and we didnt even think anything of it. the message is that its very easy for these things to go unnoticed, and they portrayed that perfectly with alex

>tfw you will never hang out at bryce's pool house with your bros
>tfw bryce will never buy you basketball shoes and tell you he had a spair pair because hes too humble
>tfw you'll never shoot the shit, smoking weed, and playing video games while talking about life with bryce

why even live?

bryce was the coolest chad

t. bryce

bryce was a cross-eyed rapist pos.

Wait, I thought Tyler killed Alex? Tyler just got the gun, and took Alex's picture down, so I figured he was killing everyone on the tapes one by one.

That's a good point, I didn't even realize that.

>tfw no bro Chad like Jeff who would've carried you through high school

i'm not really in love with Hannah lmao, don't take that literally, she's just cute as fuck.
that's not true though, I've been in a relationship for 4 years now actually

>rich kids high school (at least middle class)
>autistic beta kids
>entitle cunts
>muh first world problems
I watched it but it gets kind of boring. Btw how retard can the parents be?

Post the essay. That came to my school too.

I'm baffled Sup Forums loves this at best 'okay' series so much, but whatever.

I thought it was obvious Alex was gonna kill himself. I was just confused because they made it seem like stalker killed him

Shit, I don't think the book even mentions how she kills herself.

did any of these people have pets?

maybe next time Hannah should buy a dog instead of killing herself

THIS

The series did not need to last 13 hours, I can tell you that much.

This serie is very unrelatable for me. Part of it is because it felt very American.

clay seems to eat a lot of candy
im a bit into episode 12 btw

I'm from a slavland and I felt it was relatable on numerous occasions, I even see myself in Clay in some ways.

I'm not from America either, my high school experience was way less cliquey than how it is depicted in the show, or any high school movie. I was able to relate to it often as well though, but I mostly paid attention to how the show was written and how the writers managed to create tensions and keep the viewer entertained anyways. Also I thought the dialogue was very well done.

I just want to have sex with Hannah

No

>unironically thinking this show is good

...

Welcome to your tape user.

kek

What will you have, Sup Forums?

This is a 17 year old in America

quintuple americano

Yeah why do they cast grandma's to play 17 year olds?

I think the kid Clay is a pretty good actor. Especially given such a shit boring storyline.

>complaining about 17 year old grandma's

>posts 27 year old grandma

He was good in Don't Breath

holy shit, quit making threads asking "did people like 13 reasons why"

there have been threads for like a month talking about the show, just make a general thread if you want to talk about it

yeah when the show started I didn't like him so much but by the end he had some really good scenes
I also didn't expect to sympathize with justin, unless he does something completely unforgivable in the last episode because thats the only one I haven't seen yet

And his character was a beta friendzoned guy in that too. Is he doomed to only play those kind of roles?

Probably. He has the face for it

>watches a rape
>does nothing about it
>makes tapes calling everyone else out

Mr. Jenson is the best character.

thats not tony

Tony's an unreal character. I mean he looks and acts like something out of Saturday Night Fever, yet people somehow take him seriously in the show.

I thought he was full of shit at the end of Marcus' episode but I'm right there with you about sympathizing with him. Dude is like Alex who just wants to fit in except he has the athletic prowess and good looks to get by. And of course the dude is lonely, he has no brothers or dad he can hang out with.

Also agreed on Clay's acting. Kinda shitty at first but god damn he killed it in episode 11.

That's not Jeff. Jeff was the fucking man.

Just binge watched the first half hour of the first episode, when does this get good?

It made me nostalic for highschool. I did not got bullied but i could have made so much more out of it...

Tyler's tape.

Anyone else like Zach? He really didn't do anything all that wrong and Hannah freaked out on him

The actress who playa Hannah is an aussie.

Zach could be a dick but I felt really bad for him. I was not expecting him to still have Hannah's note. It's ironic dude was lashing out against Hannah because of his pain and Hannah was completely oblivious to it and probably should have been more compassionate.

Interesting how he stopped helping Justin and started helping Alex too.
