Military Planes General

What's your favorite plane and why is it the F-15E Strike Eagle?

>Like all F-15s, never lost a dogfight
>Badass laser targeted missiles
>Two seater so you won't die if you pass out from the G forces
>Two engines so you won't die if a bullet flies into it
>Better than its supposed replacement, the F-35E which has been "plagued with design flaws"
>Improves on the original F-15 in almost every way but especially in Air-to-Ground combat
>US designed and built, Russki planes like MiG-29s are shit in comparison
>Older than your dad but still cooler than him

I don't need a spoiler tag to tell you that you can't name a fighter jet better than this one

There is only 1 correct answer to that question.

Valkyrie XB-70 is the coolest fucking plane that's not an SR-71.

I also like FW-190s and Stuka G's.

SU-34?

Close, but not quite.

It's so futuristic.

May be a cheesy answer but I legitimately like the F-35 and am glad its finally getting its act together.

Its just a really cool sleek plane with tons of functions.
youtube.com/watch?v=ML2kyMMVszU

I like the F-16

>cute smile with air intake and sleek
>latest V variant gets AN/APG-83 SABR
>very agile
>great at wild weasel
>affordable and popular

Too bad the F-35 will replace us all once it irons out its kinks, I would love to see a Gen 4.5 F-16 though ;-;

The F-35 could be cool, but it only has one engine and one seat, so you're liable to get shot down and you don't have a wingman bro to hand out with.

The worst part about the engines on an F-35 is that if you drop a coin or a tool into it, you'll probably have to take the whole damn thing apart to get it out.

There is only one best plane. It was once the F-15.

Was.

Lewd.

Moar?

Lancaster

Two left in the world, one in Ontario.

Tu-160

>single engine
absolute shit tier

Two engines can be a liability. Check out engine failure stats; if one engine fails than the other engine is most likely going to fail as a result as well.

>ctrl f
>no brrrrrrrrrrrrt

It's like none of you were even grunts.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT

then*

When are you guys going to update your shitty Air Force?

You have like 70 geriatric, worn out Hornets, and a Burt Lancaster Bomber and some used up P-3 Orions. I thought Le Weed Cuck was all about spending money?

Looks like a prolapsed anus.

Not on cool stuff

>Harper wanted tons of F35s
>Dragged their feet
>Weed man enters
>"Imma give all the money to the navy"

My favorite is probably the Dassault Rafale but I also love the F-15's, F-16's, F-18's and the Su-27/35.

They will surely make a 2 seater version in the future like with the f-18

And the logic is that you could have another engine ready to go to be swapped out and easily avaliable because all branches use them and need these spare engines.

Not sure how similar engines are in the B vs A and C though

F-16 is shit compared to the F-15 in everything but turning circle

If you guys would stop fucking jacking up the price because of pork-barrel politics we'd probably already have ordered the F-35.

>Strike Eagle
>Dogfighting anything

The F-35 is not replacing the F-15 E. There is no F-35 E variant. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are a fucking idiot and should not be posting tonight.

>Weed man is holding another conpetition to replace the aging fleet.
>Vowed to cancel F-35 and never purchase.
>Competition results will come back in favor of F-35 for cost and lead time.
>Weed man cucked.

Not shit tier. One engine to maintain, higher sortie rate.

Needing two engines in 2016 makes you pleb tier.

>mfw i will never fly one of of these

Which is incredibly important in dogfighting

>F-15

I guess it's an OK plane, but we had to use bribery and pressure to get Cucknada to not produce their superior fighter.

Well, you guys do need a better Navy.

I got to take a tour of one of the Frigates a few years ago (Fredrickton). Nice ship. I like how the VLS silos are actually on the outside, above deck on the ship.

But you need vessels that can handle arctic patrol better, and also underway replenishment for humanitarian missions (So you can import more Dindu Terrorists, chinks, and Poos)

F-16 wins when you have more than one.

If you drop a coin or tool into any aircraft engine the entire thing is useless. It's called FOD and requires an engine change.

If you guys would stop cutting your order, we wouldn't have to.

Absolutely. One engine cutting out is end of mission anyways. Immediately declare emergency and fly back.

All things considered, the Nighthawk is probably the plane that was the best at what it was supposed to do, in the context of the era when it was made and all that.

What is OP and why is he a faggot?

answer: he posts non-political on Sup Forums

you gonna feel my redacted hit your implied unless you btfo and delete this post and take it somewhere else
like a faggoty aircraft fanboi board

If you lose one engine in an F-15 and you are flying a combat sortie you aren't getting back home. Fighter engines don't work like passenger jet engines.

Once you start putting too much high tech stuff in the F-16 you lose part of what made it cool in there first place. The F-16 was just supposed to be a good, cheap, solid fighter.

...

Looks like it is taking off from an LPH which increases our seagoing launch platforms tremendously.

Honestly, Canada shouldn't have F-35's.

You should have Super Hornets.

The F-35 program does benefit your tech and defense industry. But it's your own fault for having a lot of eggs in that basket.

At the end of the day, I'm expecting RCAF to get Super Hornets, or Saab Gripens if PETjr decides to have a little anti-american spat to save face.

The f22 is the best dogrifghter ever made fuck u talking about

>The F-16 was just supposed to be a good, cheap, solid fighter.
Just like the MiG-29's that got rekt by higher tech F-16's and F-15's in every engagement.

Nice timing

We haven't cut our order yet. It was 65 planes in 2009 and it's still 65 planes now. It's other countries that have slashed their orders - blame the Dutch and Brits.

Where did /k/ touch you user?

*cough* cough*

wew

>2 seater F-35

Uh. No they won't. The entire concept is to automate and network the entire battle. The role of the second cockpit is relegated to automation and commands over the battlespace network.

The plane that literally INVENTED supermaneuverability

Why shouldn't Canada have the F-35?

Sorry, there can be only one.

McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II

Situational awareness > maneuverability

Canada help build the fucking thing.

>Le Meme plane

The Arrow was a very narrow focus interceptor. It was obsolete by the time it had it's test flights. Literally only autistic Canadians (like Dan Ackroyd) argue it's merits.

If they had gone that way in the beginning then I would absolutely agree that it is the right choice. However, joining the F-35 program and investing in trade-offs that heavily influence the Canadian economy have come into play. Cuck man can't afford to call it a loss at this point on top of losing thousands of jobs that were created in Canada in support of the F-35 program.

...

Not like you have more than one pilot that could possibly fly one. Between your weed and degeneracy in general what did you expect?

>The plane that literally INVENTED supermaneuverability

That's an F22 Raptor... Not an F15

Technically haven't cut your planned order, however, you have delayed placing it.

Hey guys.

Want your mind to be blown?

airpigz.com/blog/2013/7/9/jack-ballys-manned-13-scale-b-17-nearly-ready-to-fly.html

Dude has been building this since the 90s.

Re-read his post you fucking idiot.

American planes are way too overrated. The F22 and f35 is garbage compared to the objectively superior Russian pak-fa and the Chinese j31. And these
>Muh f15
is pathetic too. It is a fact that the French Mirage 2000 is better and the most advanced 4th gen jet. Murricun patriotism is cancer.

how can you even compete

>airpigz.com/blog/2013/7/9/jack-ballys-manned-13-scale-b-17-nearly-ready-to-fly.html
Oh shit thats cool. Thanks user, I'll send it to my grandpa. He builds small aircraft from scratch.

limited range
limited threats
CA is comparatively poor
bleeding edge tech for an air force that has 3 major fighter bases, and relies mainly on forward deploying detachments of homeland based interceptor assets at civilian airports smaller millitary airfields.

Alright WilyB put down the bong.

Advanced Super Hornet is kinda sexy.

Honestly what do we use our planes for? 90% of it is escorting Russian bombers out of NATO airspace, or dropping 500lb bombs on people living in mud huts. So we need something that's a decent interceptor and a nice cheap bomb truck. Sad to say there really isn't a perfect plane for Canada. It's a shame our aerospace industry is largely too de-militarized (that all went south) to build our own stuff.

Yeah that's all political bullshit. We went through the same fucking thing 20 years ago replacing our naval choppers - the things had to start literally falling out of the fucking sky before the pencil pushers in Ottawa got off their asses.

>t. faggot posting in praise kek threads

Thats what I said.

>Le Corporate Welfare

>coolest looking
Looks like the derp plane.

I think it's pretty hard to go past a Hornet or SU-33 in the good looks department

He would just give those jobs away to Rapefugees anyways.

Canada can still build the parts for our F-35's. But they won't. Because of protectionist trade deals (Funny how the leafs hate trump over that)

dem kills.

...

serious question here lads

What kind of warplane (a fighter) would you recomend to a small nation like mine in relation to price?

Like, is it even worth having 5 or 10 F22? would that help at all in a modern conflict?

I guess with 5 F22 we could at least send them in a suicide mission gainst, for example, argentina or brazil. It would be succesful, the objetives would be destroyed, but after that what?

My point is that nowadays if you do not have a proper industry to mainten them or repair them or even better produce the parts you need, it is usless in a real conflict.

Looks like it's prolapsed rectal hole is going to drop a turd on the deck, lewd for sure.
Favorite plane is the airborne missile. Needs no pilot, can go like mach 2 and beyond and can turn pulling 10G, cheapest airplane going.

Truth be told, they only make missile magnets because of the contractor lobbies and unions, everyone knows they are redundant and there ain't no such thing as stealth. Most of the time pilots are scared to fly in a real war zone captains park their floating missile magnet carriers like 500 miles from the action. I like piloted war planes but they are redundant in the year of our Lord, 2020-4.

Posting god killer plane

super TUCANO!

That's why you had to beg (threaten and bribe) Cucknada not to make it huh?

All of our planes and military are silly and moot since Korea, because all we do is bully third world countries who can't fight back. Maybe until Vietnam, after that our military is just Israel's north American divisions.

F-35A and Super Hornet have practically the same range.

And what does limited threats even mean?

the upside-down rear elevator/ailerons are so dumb and really never worked

sexy aircraft comin through

the modern equipment is nice and all, but ww2 era fighters and bombers my favorite. we'll never see aerial combat like that again where skill and wit were on full display. do or die, no room for even one mistake. unfortunately aerial combat these days will be dominated by computers and launching missiles from miles away

>feeling the cold air of battle on your face
>no bullshit targeting systems, just you, your machine guns and the purity of mathematics
>being able to hear the screams of your enemies as you glide past their doomed flying contraption

>1970s avionics
>No countermeasures or AESA
>Short engine life, engines need to be replaced every 400 hours
>Lost in a simulated dogfight to an F4 Phantom....a fucking F4 Phantom
(Chinese su 27 vs Turkroach F4)

Russian planes are the best in price/quality ratio

Britain reporting in.
BTFO burgers.

>Will replace us

Planes so advance they can shitpost on Sup Forums

What a time to be alive lads.

>Avro Arrow first flight 1957
>F-15 first flight 1972
What the fuck, man. I'm offended by your ignorance, these aircraft had nothing to do with eachother.
Also
>f-15
>"okay"
You fucking fool, this is the most accomplished 4th generation fighter ever.
>limited range
F-35 has even more range than an F-14. Fucking triggered.
Pic related, fuck fighters, electronic attack is the best.
>mfw i'm listening to megalith right now

dude isn't the j31 a ripoff of the f35 because of hackers

Agreed Satan.

It was a pure display of skill, like old school Group B rally before it was banned.

No computers.
Human interface only.
Final Destination.

Yeah our superiour tech air force clearly outmaneuvered Putin in the battle of Crimea.

F-14 Tomcat is the coolest fighter jet of all time

If it wasn't for this plane and the movie Top Gun I wouldnt exist
>mfw my dad was a f14 pilot in top gun right as the movie came out
>mfw my mom saw the movie and then hooked up with a top gun pilot
>tfw I am only here because of a lame 80s movie

>
It means that USAF has already gone in and removed any real threats before RCAF will ever send in one of their jalopies as a token contribution to the "Joint effort".

You missed the point, you probably never had one of these launched off the flight deck with a full bomb loadout.

That is why they were the workhorse back then. Enough hardpoints to carry a tank.
