Ireland has good writers, but not anywhere close to the same level as Britain, France, or the US. Ireland just had good 19th and early 20th century national literature, kind of like Russia. Also Russia has the best dancers. And France has the best painters. The only thing I would probably agree with is actors and musicians, although Britain definitely has an argument for musicians, and actors from who don't speak English are hard for me to judge.
