Decide to watch harry potter for the first time

>decide to watch harry potter for the first time
>because anons had been autistically sperging so I knew something was up
>it turns out to be better than most shit I've seen recently
>it blows all modern blockbusters out of the water
>the magical world devolves into a witchcraft horror tale
>its heartfelt, comical and serious enough to be complete
>the tone and ever changing soundtracks and direction and atmosphere fits the story
>harry actually seems like a normie I can connect to
>the latter films have focus on harry and the trio and make you realize you actually care about these kids
>the cast is fantastic and ron and hermione are pretty fucking funny
>witchcraft is shown to be menacing with the 2nd one and the stakes get higher ever since
>after the fourth and voldemort returns the camera increasingly has more and more black and dark shots between the light as it goes on.
>the last two are filled with few instances of light and longer events of dark
>until harry dies and the screen is bright white for minutes and minutes

This shit was brilliant. Honestly, better than Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

>inb4 dullest franchise

>>it turns out to be better than most shit I've seen recently
try watch something besides capeshit some time

I liked it a lot deathly hallow 1+2 were my least favorite though.

It's got perfect atmosphere, music is 10/10, world building also 10/10

1-4 were really good

It's trash, sry. The beasts-movie is pretty gud tho

You're adorable Zach
Don't you have to make some reoberts threads?

You might call this a dull franchise, but I call this a serious ground for discussion of this heavily flawed series of so-called "literature". But what else could you expect from the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Based dullest franchise poster. Truly you are the hero Sup Forums needs.

Always hated that chart. Tolkien and Shakespeare are shit? What kind of crack are you autists snorting?

>le you watch capeshit argument
>posts cartoon
Lmfao everytime I'm sure you think 10cloverpleb lane is kino too

On a rewatch hallows are quite good. I always preferred part 1 though. Cant really hate 2 because it had to be a climax and all out. Glad you appreciate the atmosphere and world building and soundtracks I do too.
Nice try faggot FB is shit

Harry Potter is a great series, regardless of these so-called kino specialists shitting on it. The first two are the best ones (no cliffhangers either) third one is great too (only a cliffhanger if you give a fuck about Peter Pettigrew) from the fourth film onwards the series becomes different from the first three. The fourth one is still pretty good though, the fifth one is purely a filler. The sixth one is a fanfiction shipping fest where characters are forced into non-sensical relationships with each other, though the Malfoy side-story was arguably the best part of the story. The seventh and eighth one don't feel like Harry Potter; more like a blockbuster Twilight-esque movie. The seventh one at least had some interesting stuff (still awful) but the eighth one was just awful. Don't expect to recognize the earlier Potter films in the later installments except for the characters.

1-3: Best films
4 & 6: Decent
5: Bad
7-8: Shit

>entire post talks about the plot

When will you learn? Also 1 2 are good but not the best. 5 6 7 are underrated as fuck

...

They are nothing like twilight nothing. Blame rowling because her source material had romance. They are tonal masterpieces on film.

HAHAHA

What are you even trying to accomplish posting a dishonest film from 2011+5? Does anyone even give a shit about La La Land? Is anyone talking about La La Land now? Will they be in 5 years? Go make your own thread

>b-b-but rt!! -i-it doesn't count when the movies disagree with my pleb taste :((
