Name a sportsmen that’s had a longer peak than Ronaldo

Name a sportsmen that’s had a longer peak than Ronaldo.

He’s been at the top for 12 years now.

>He’s been at the top for 12 years now.
*14

played a Euro final in 2004

Messi.Unironically.

2004 Portugal was stacked.

>longer peak
>2 ligas in 12 years
lmao so cute

He only became world class 2006 onwards though.

Messi has literally same peak in terms of length of time. 2006 onwards.

Well he ain't winning la liga while playing in england

LelRoid been unarguably at the top for 10 years now on a more demanding schedule

well, it seems he ain't winning it either while playing in spain TOP KEKES

Mayweather's first world title fight was in '98 and his final one in 2015

Ok, that's actually a decent shout because Mayweather was pretty much at the top throughout his career.

mayweather only fought one undefeated player in his whole career, second rate diego corrales

>messifag complaining about stacked teams while Messi was carried by the best generation in the history of modern football
lmao

Attached: stacked.jpg (615x410, 290K)

His peak is over though. He's still at the top of the sport, but he's visibly a worse player than he used to be. Held his peak for 8/9 years, which is still impressive for a running heavy sport. There's probably a golfer or snooker player or some shit like that who outdoes him.

Forgetting Canelo and Hatton? An undefeated record means nothing in most cases anyway. Better to fight a proven world class guy with a couple of losses on his record than an untested unbeaten guy

Federer?

He's been at the top since 2003.

BUT his performance hasn't been consistent for the past 8 or so years. Ronaldo pretty much has been a top 3 player since 2006 whereas Federer has had some pretty poor seasons.

I don't think we can consider his 'peak' to be over if he's still the highest scorer player in Europe and continues to break scoring records. His 2018 tally is the best he's ever had in terms of calendar year starts.

His CL record seems to be improving every year as well.

I would definitely say that his peak is coming to an end though. But he's not past it, yet.

Shane Warne, 1993-2006 (with a brief interlude when he was banned for a year)

>tfw you can bowl better than pakis on their own roads

It's "nice Gaaaary" and "Bowlin' Shane." Pleb.

Phil Taylor was world darts champion 16 years in a row. Didn't need a team to carry him either.

talking about real sports fa m.

Yeah you're not wrong there mate, my bad

who gives a fuck about some fat darts player though.

maintaining peak performance in a sport that requires high levels of athleticism is way harder. even cricket is BARELY athletic.

> if you point out that 2004 Portugal had a great team including Costinha, CR7, Figo, Simão and Quaresma, it means that you're a fan of Messi and you hate CR7
You are definitely insane.

>cricket
>barely athletic
Yeah right bowling at 80-90 miles 30-40 overs a game or batting for hours at a time isn't athletic

Ronnie O'Sullivan desu, don't @ me.

>hasn't been consistent for the past 8 or so years

That's only because he was paired against 2 great players (not murray)

are you saying portugal 2004 wasn't stacked? ayyy
>gypsy intellectuals
lmao

>Forgetting Canelo and Hatton?
sorry I forgot those two bums
>An undefeated record means nothing in most cases anyway
yup, like in mayweather's case
>Better to fight a proven world class guy with a couple of losses on his record than an untested unbeaten guy
better to fight bums and fix any losses to build up an undefeated resume so cluelessfags think you had a long peak

GWAN RONNIE

Messi
Lebron
Federer

Next question.

that bald dude that fucks trannies has been at it just as long

Say what you will about the weakness of their opponents, but you can only fight the best at the time, and these two were the undisputed champs from 2004-2015

Attached: download.jpg (474x399, 47K)

>are you saying portugal 2004 wasn't stacked?
where did I say that you dumb fuck

this is a top level cricketer

The fact that he played both Maradona and Cristiano Ronaldo is mind boggling.

>the gypsy seethes again
lmao

>top level
>never played a single test match

:^)

Jack Nicklaus

So has buffon and he's still going.

janni at working for free

Roger Federer

quads confirm

literally an amateur cricketer

Gordie Howe was top-10 in NHL scoring for 21 consecutive years.

>top-10
jej

what's next, top 50?

does missing for months each season count as peak?

tom brady
john cena
wayne rooney
roger Federer

Messi is regularly invisible from March until September. someone should call him and tell him that's when important tournament games are played at the NT and club level.

>john cena
not a sportsman.

>wayne rooney
he had maybe a 5 year peak. And he wasn't even the best in the world at HIS best.

>No Serena Williams

I know she's a woman but she's been on top since the late 90s. She's only female tennis player that can ghost for months, come back on tour and still destroy every other player.

Marit Bjorgen (2005-2018), competed since 1999, achieved GOAT status after being the most winning winter olympian of all time in Peyongchang.
Olympic medals: 8 golds, 4 silver, 3 broze
World championship medals: 18 golds, 5 silver, 3 bronze

>murray isn't a great player

found the Engpaki

You can only consider Murray a great player if Nadal, Federer and Djokovic never existed.

>a player who has been consistently in the top 4 and making grand slam semi-finals and finals for 10 years is not great

stop being stupid.

he's not an all-time great in terms of grand slam titles. but by every single other metric he is.

the ATP website has a good statistic database containing loads of statistics like pic related. murray is top 10 in most of them.

Attached: 1499545211008[1].png (1491x2312, 531K)

>for longer than a divegrass player's entire career
jej indeed

That is only 13 years though.

Bjorndalen won olympic gold between 1998 and 2014 (also 16 years) and has 20 world championship golds between 1998 and 2016 (18 years).

Attached: bjørndalen.jpg (1500x1033, 187K)

Lmao you point out 4 wingers, one being cr7. And Quaresma wasn’t even called up.

>Costinha

Bjorndalen is a freak of nature though (in a good way)

yea skating takes a lot of training

kys kys kys badly and slowly you are the cancer of this board Bogdan just fucking kys

Martina Navratilova

Fourcade is unironcally the GOAT of the sport though.

Tori Black

True, but it's hard to compare the two

From 2003-2017, he had two seasons when his year end rank wasn't in the top 3: 2013 and 2016 (he played 1/3 season due to injury). From 2003-2018 he was ranked in the top 2 at some part of the season as well.

name a sportsmen who considers himself not guilty of the tax fraud charges is being accused of, wrote a blank cheque to the tax authorities to end up the case but they refuse it and are going through with criminal charges against them

She took a massive break between 2011 and 2017

I'd give her my massive break, if you know what I mean

Eddy Merckx won a WC title in his youth in '64 and won some six-day track races in '77.
Which makes it 13-14 years.

>He’s been at the top for 12 years now
funny how this period also contains the biggest defeats of madrid against barcelona in their whole history as a club LMAO

The answer is Michael Phelps

Tiger Woods

He hit his peak during rookie season, he just got smarter with years, its crazy

Michael Schumacher

And them winning the champions league an unprecedented amount of times

Noriaki Kasai

Japanese ski jumper whose first victory was in 1993 and the latest one in 2014. He has been in WC overall top 10 for the first time in 1991 and lately in 2016. Find me someone else who has been elite for 25 years. Hell, name me an active sportsman who has been good when USSR was still competing.

Phil Taylor. 1990-2018. 16 world titles, countless other majors.

Retired ranked #4 in the world at the age of 57.

Will forever be darts' greatest player. And I despise the lecherous attention-seeking cunt.
