Solving Pogba

I'm sick and tired of MU supporters everywhere (Sup Forums, Redcafe and r/reddevils in particular) choosing Pogboom as the scapegoat for our recent issues. First of all - what issues are we talking about in the first place? Mou's press statements, as controversial as they were, revealed the harsh truth. No shame in going out against one of the top Spanish clubs, no shame in being behind City with their oil funded superteam and shady Catalonian doping.
On his day, Pogba is an unstoppable beast bullying opposition for fun. Have his haters already fogotten about his performances against West Ham, Watford or Stoke? The point of this thread however - how do we make him perform like that on consistent basis? Well, just like in FIFA - when your tactics stop being effective, go back to what worked best before. I believe we should be inspired by Juve's 14/15 setup, that's when his star truly rose. Cont. below

I believe the key is playing teams like west ham watford and stoke

As you can see on the plan attached to OP, he was deployed as left side midfielder of a diamond/4-3-1-2. In so called "Pogba role" he pioneered, he was allowed to wreak havoc and decide matches on his own. But lets not forget about his midfield partners - Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal. To truly unlock Pogba's full potential, we should be inspired by such system and get someone to help him out with playmaking, get someone to help him out with box-to-box coverage and get someone to help him out with creating chance in the final third. I'm thinking:
--------------Naingollan
Pogboom--Verratti--Kroos

Of course, we're talking about +/- 250 million investment, but after all isn't that how much City spend every single transfer window these days, winter included? And isn't it a reasonable price to pay to TRULY unleash Pogba?
What do you think, fellow Red Devils?

>gets played out of position
>can't make 10 yard passes anymore

Sick of the excuses. Pogba is a fraud of a player.

Those are just random examples of Pogba's world class, the list goes on and on - vs Everon away (7.83 whoscored rating), vs CSKA (7.68), or Newcastle at home (8.59!!!)

I think it's a wee bit sad how much effort you are putting into shitposting

Mou has an ego the size of Texas. Paul is a lightheaded guy who lost himself in Mou mindtricks. Mou would rather destroy talent than letting the talent outshine him. Mou philosophy of the game absolutely does not fit Pogba.
They are not meant to win together.

wow why havent they made some foreign bandwagoner the head of player recruitment

Would you deploy prime Iniesta as a defensive midfielder and expect his usual performances? No, you'd make him the cornerstone of the team and copy Barcelona's tiki-taka to get the most out of him. That's perhaps the only issue I have with Mou. He insists on having players adapt themselves to his prefered tactics - and as effective as they are, sometimes it can be beneficial to set up a plan to suit your leading man's strenghts

Exactly. I'd hate to see either Pogba or Mou leave MU, we're only a few adjustments away from being an unstoppable machine

Pogba basically needs to realize his inner yaya

he has all the tools

No I wouldn't but if I did I would expect him to put in a competent performance. Just like I expect the same from Pogba regardless of where he is played. You know you would get it from Iniesta because he is the model professional. The same can't be said about Pogba.

How are they even comparable? Even during this so-called "poor run" Pogba is having, he's putting in performances that tower over prime Yaya Toure. He combines the qualities of Zidane, Platini and Scholes with Vieira's physique

>he's putting in performances that tower over prime Yaya Toure

you are demented

prime yaya shits all over pogba

I didn't choose the "DM Iniesta" analogy randomly - Mou basically plays Pogba in deep area where he used Makelele in the past, and yet Pogboom challenges pure AM like De Bruyne in number of assists. Isn't that "competent" to say the least?

13/14 season was Toure's peak - he ended up with 9 assists in 35 league matches, playing 2927 minutes. Pogba, apparently a "flop" according to ABUs, has as many in 17/18 in 19 matches, playing 1837 minutes. Need I say more?

did you miss the part where yaya scored 24 goals and was the best player in a title winning side

Based ABU Slovak

Do you expect a defensive midfielder to score 24 goals? Toure was basically a second striker, while Pogba is forced to track back, close down, intercept and help out CBs constantly. He's not allowed to surge forward and poach goals either, because the whole playmaking responsibility is on him. That's what this whole thread is about - lets sign midfield specialists to cover all those duties for him and then we'll see the true gem Pogba is.

this post is where I identify that you weren't even watching premier league football in 2013

Yaya Toure has always been a more effective defender than Pogba and basically played as a box to box that season. Nasri, Silva, and Navas all played further forwards than he did; Yaya Toure was incredibly influential at both ends of the pitch.

And I agree, you need to get some decent passers of the ball to supplement Pogba's off ball game so he can play with more freedom and have a season somewhere near as good as Yaya's 2013 season

Where was Pogba vs Spurs?
Fellaini?

As you can see, their defensive contributions are more or less equal, however there's one MAJOR decisive factor. Notice how Pogba "commits" almost twice as many fouls as Toure did back then, it's obvious he's singled out by the referees and with their anti-MU bias. That's why Pogba's defensive game looks average on paper, he's held back by dubious officiating. Everyone surely remembers the ridiculous red card against Arsenal for a challenge on Bellerin that shouldn't even qualify as a foul
>you need to get some decent passers
Correct. He can't be expected to run the whole midfield all by himself, even though he manages to do just that regulary

Mou sadly used him even deeper than usual PLUS on his weaker side, the right midfield. I would still consider it a decent performance, he obviously wasn't fully fit
