Which was dumber, Trump or Brexit?

My inherent biases aside, I feel like Brexit was dumber. Trump will go away, but Brexit was a form of national seppuku. It's gonna leave a mark.

I'd mostly agree but it all depends on how much of a retard Trump goes in the next 3 years, on just dismantling your government he's already in for a good decade's worth of damage.

Norway option (including freedom of movement) is a better deal for UK than remaining was tbqh. Shame they won't do it

Trump is funny. Brexit is kind of tragic.

The positive will outweigh the negative in the long run; the Trump calamity has awoken many Americans to a newfound respect for and sense of protectiveness over their civic institutions

He will make America great again, but it will come at the expense of him, his family, his associates, and his co-conspirators

Merkel since Germany has no term limits. :^)

This, why did the people even want Brexit?

neither
the EU is a mafia who is overruling its members' democracies and has it against brits
and hillary is a worthless bitch

Despite Trump possibly fracturing the Republican party beyond repair and , and it just being funny. Hillary would've been better. It also would've saved Sup Forums since right-wingers would've fucked off after he lost.

none of these are dumb
t.7x dimensional chess pro

Found a picture of you, OP.

Brexit was good because the EU could never function as intended with the UK as a member, that's why DeGaulle blocked them for so long

idk about Trump but what has he even done that's so awful? the economy is doing well and my American stocks have gone up since

They don't want to gradually surrender their sovereignty to Germany.

Dude I'm a rightist and along with ruining the culture of the right-wing he's damaged the party and our image beyond repair

You tradcon mongrels are so keen to project your existential insecurities at the drop of a hat. I'd almost feel bad for you if you were a decent human being under all the cancerous rhetoric, but you're not.

He successfully appointed a right-wing judge to fill Scalia’s vacancy, so as far as I’m concerned his job is done.

The "culture" of the American right has been in tatters since Newt Gingrich's Contract with America. If anything, Trump is the mericful bullet to its head.

I know, I know. Those darn Christian conservatives are holding back wonderful gays like us.

>completely missing his point
You can do something other than namecalling and sarcasm you know
That's what I'm saying, the only thing he's helped with is that he seems to understand the importance of the supreme court as said, I'm seriously disillusioned with this country and am voting democrat next time. If not fucking leaving.

you have to go back m8, you know where

>If not fucking leaving

Lol no you won’t.

>the left wing completely collapsed under Obama, completely focusing on identity politics and disillusioning the work class and old school labor democrats, creating a serious identity problems
>the right wing is completely collapsing under Trump, completely focusing on patriotism and identity politics, disillusioning the religious and the rich who are the reason they don't lose every election
Why is this country doing this?
Yes, I will. Probably to an another anglo country but still.

It was funny at first but Sup Forums is not for discussing reactionary politics 24/7, the moment Trump support became unironic was the moment it was seriously damaged.
It's like Chanology.

Trump is a puppet of the deep state, so nothing will really change in the end.

However, I'd argue that Brexit was actually the right choice, but will have a much stronger, more negative impact in the short term, so it seems like it was a mistake. Brits need to accept that keeping their sovereignty demands a painfully high price, they're going to get fucked no matter what, and that the battle isn't over yet. Depending how the negotiations go, they could very well end up leaving the EU yet still end up beholden to them and sacrificing that which they chose to fight for in the first place.

why do people think brexit was so damaging? it's just a fucking trade agreement

Britain being in the EU weakened the EU. We joined the union knowing they had the eventual goal of integrating it's members into one state, and yet we blocked further integration and slowed it down at every turn. To add to this, the UK has always been more "rightwing" and American in it's mindset than it has been European. Leaving the EU will weaken the UK but ultimately be for the better. The UK does not identify with Europe nor will it ever. We are an island nation and think of ourselves as such. The French and Germans are not our neighbours or brothers, they are foreigners from across the channel. It doesn't help that we are part of a commonwealth of countries far more similar to us than Europe could ever dream to be. A European Britain is bad for the EU as a whole. It is better we instead work as partners rather than a disinterested, disobedient subordinate. No doubt Brexit will hurt our economy. In fact I fully expect a recession. But we will recover. I have faith in capitalism. I'm more concerned with how our Parliament's handling it. The two major parties seem to be placing party interests above the country's. Politicking in a time such as this never bodes well. If the UK wishes to land on it's feet running, it must stand united. But it isn't, our leaders are weak. And so it appears the UK may very well enter a generation long recession. If so, expect a rise in both nationalism and perhaps even socialism.

>Why is this country doing this?
to prepare for radical centrism

Hr's probably that rich self-hating New England Bernout who's been threatening to move to Norway for years, but never actually does it.

This. Trump shook the establishment even if he goes to lunch with the establishment. The entire election made people question the legitimacy of both the republican and democrat parties. Westerners haven't given a shit about the sorry state of their governments until they discovered that their apathy gets people like trump elected.

Trump is the hero we needed.

DDUMPF!

...

>the Trump calamity has awoken many Americans to a newfound respect for and sense of protectiveness over their civic institutions

I don't think bitching that "white people ruined everything good about America because Trump" = "respect and protectiveness over civic institutions"

fuck off

IMPEACH!

If Trump wasn't cracking down on immigration and engaging in all this loose talk about getting rid of trade agreements he'd be a fairly decent President desu

Brexit otoh is just stupid

If he stopped tweeting that would go a long way desu

>If Trump wasn't cracking down on immigration and engaging in all this loose talk about getting rid of trade agreements he'd be a fairly decent President desu
LOS

>t. Literall shill

can I get brexit explained to me in terms of pros and cons. Like what are the bad and good things that happen for british citizens.

>non-americans defending Trump
like clockwork

You're too fucking transparent faggot

In theory being able to make their own, looser regulatory policy could be really good for Britain. But since, in practice, policy is going to be made by either Theresa May or a fucking communist, there are no pros

Instead, they surrendered it to Ireland
