I hope so! It was a really good movie and now it seems so romantic to be Mexican and so connected with your family

your post is so un4chan

ahahhahahahah

CHI

you're a pretty good guy user

CHI

Yes, it's mostly a halloween type deal for most people tho, sincere belief and more traditional celebrations are usually relegated to small towns

You're alright

yes, it's a mix of both christian and pagan festivities
like carnival here in brazil & argentina

you sound p gay familia
I do and most people in rural mexico and with family in rural mexico do as well, it's my favorite day of the year tbqh, the usual altar, the food, the pumpkin desserts and the obligatory binge drinking with family.

It feels very different than carnaval tho, we also have that here

I meant that both carnival and day of the dead were product of sincretism

Based

>pumpkin desserts

You're right, that is correct, I just meant it's a very different feel and type of celebration

It's not a "celebration" it's a tradition lived differently across the nations that form México.
My family puts up an ofrenda and we pray those days, is something insightful and at a certain point gloomy, sometimes sad to look at the photos of our beolved "dead" and wonder where they are... if their spirits do come and now we remind of them while serving drinks at the altar. A friend's family does something really different and visits their neighbors, friends, give food presents, put lots and looots of candles all over the floor and the children and teens sing songs door to door all night long... three nights! It is fun and mystic.

>Do Messicans really celebrate Day of the Dead?

t. Never heard of all souls

Yea I thought it was a more personal family thing, but then the James bond thing and the mayor of mexico trying to make it into a tourist thing made things much, much clearer.

What is the best place in Mexico to visit during the Day of the dead to get the best experience?

It sounds fun desu

I imagine he's thinking stuff like pepitorias, tho some people do caramelizadas, buñuelos and pies. This is traditional here, along with beans and maize squash is a staple of indigenous diets, we've had winter pumpkins, the big orange ones, since prehispanic times.

Do you know of a family to take you in and let you stare at them while they do their mini funeral?

Mixquic or Patzcuaro, you have to book a place to stay well in advance for those

If you paid them enough money, I’m sure plenty would yeah

Just do the normal tourist thing, go to Mexico City for the James Bond parade and book a tour for a guided cemetery tour.

Oaxaca, Oaxaca
Any given pueblo mágico like Guanajuato would do as well

In Janitzio, that's Patzcuaro lake, you don't only get to enjoy what is considered along with Mixquic one of the most spectacular traditional celebrations

>like carnival
No it wasnt
Fucking James Bond movie made that happen
It was just a traditional ceremony for families and kids to eat sugar skulls

But you get to round up in one of the most beautiful traditional towns in the country and try their pescado blanco which you can have nowhere else in the world

...

fuck off

CHI

Be nice to nice people

The mayor has no family, he's a big fag haha.
Any town in the southeast, or Veracruz or the territory known as the "Huasteca". Very welcome. You're going to eat a LOT.

Janitzio, supposedly.

i really hate the mexican posters on this website t b h

they're all white btw

"Because I myself don't enjoy that indigenous trashy day called día de los muertos/ todos santos" Fuck you big time. There's nothing more pathetic that mexicans like you.

>not that user
why are you projecting this hard, senpai

Dunno. Why are you?

Yeah, I set up an altar every year.

>not that user
Guess you're one of those people that are functionally illiterate

you're not Mexican.

No, I never celebrate it, cause I don't give a fuck.

Neither are you

You are the one using memes "projecting this hard, senpai". What was your point, anyway?

we do the exact same in Sicily: we celebrate the dead and the dead give presents to children

ahhhh so you admit it!

so what are you? Honduran or some shit?

Chi here. Yes but mostly in rural areas of michochan
