Singapore and Japan

I've always heard good things about Japan's educational system, and the whole culture in general. I'm a huge anime fan, and I've started studying the language seriously recently.

Recently, I found out Singapore is in PISA's (an international educational test) first places. I did a little bit of research and found out Singapore went from being one of the most dangerous places on Asia, and Earth, to quite an advanced, educated and SAFE nation.

I'm very curious about what makes both nations great, specially Singapore, because of its huge, sudden leap-forward. Could anyone who's been there, or born and raise in the area illuminate me on these matters, please?

South Korea also ranks high in PISA. It actually saddened me to hear it is the #1 suicide nation in the world right now... I'd also like to know about S. Korea, if possible. Thank you.

japan is full

>recently I found out
>recently

kys

please elaborate in 'Japan is full'
I know it is like the #9 most populated country in the world, despite not being bigger than many countries in Europe, but you guys do not have an unemployment or poverty problem, do you?

fuck off

They wuz blessed by the Wing of Liberty and Prosperity™ and didn't fall for commie later, which guarantee 1000% prosperity.

thanks for actually responding to the post. I thought I'd get nothing but hate here.
Yes, I've read about how Japan almost became divided in a communist (trashy) communist north and capitalist south, just like Korea.

>What else can you tell me about Japan, and the other countries I mentioned?
>Have you ever been to Mexico, or anywhere in the american continent, friend?

That means he doesn't like that you come to his country and you will look like god compare to him, hook up japan girls.

We are successful because of our lack of Mexicans.

haha. i know what he meant. i just thought i could get him to be nice by being nice. i bet you'd be very popular among the japanese ladies, too, friend

To elaborate, consider the following:

Singapore:
No Mexicans
Little crime
No drugs
No cartels

Mexico:
Full of Mexicans
Lots of crime
Drugs everywhere
Cartels control huge swathes of territory

Fail for your comment
Win for Satania-chan
hahaha

Stupid Mexican

Campeche and the Islas Revilagigedo are Singaporean land. The rest is a wasteland.

you must be one of the few blockheads in Singapore, aren't you?

>liking 3D g*rls and w*men

well, hello to you, too, friend :)

Few? Singapore is a horrid country that's full of arseholes, chads and blockheads.

nigga, i LOVE YURU YURI!
We could be good friends if you just were nice!

ok, you got my attention.
Why don't you tell me a bit about what you do, where you live and why you think like that.
Your english is flawless, i'd say, you have that going for you

As long as you like Singapore I won't be nice to you. Shitty country.

I guess your expectation to discuss Japan with Japanese in here will definitely fail, since there're only Japanese with narrow chauvinism and serious lack of very basic common sense. However, if you are tolerant enough to accept my bad English, I can give you some ideas on Japan.

english is also a foreign language to me
Please, tell me everything you have to say, I'm very, very interested

That's because I'm a native speaker of English. It's the only language I'm fluent in.

>Why don't you tell me a bit about what you do, where you live and why you think like that.
I'm eighteen and finishing grade school on Friday. Which means that for the next two years I will be enslaved by the government in an army camp, surrounded by sweaty chads and their absolutely repulsive BO. Fortunately I got myself certified medically unfit for physical activity so I can go home every day and not have to sleep with those bydlos.

Now conscription in Singapore is very different from in the west. There's no such thing as conscientious objection here. You refuse, you get thrown in jail for three years. You're overseas and remain overseas, the government gets an arrest warrant against you so you can't go back, and they don't let you revoke your citizenship.

Other factors that make this place pathetic?

The weather is horrid, 30 degrees everyday with 80% humidity.

I'm gay and that means that sex is illegal here for me.

Suicide among children is a big thing.

Insanely high housing prices and car prices, the latter due to government quotas.

Literally no outdoors other than a jungle and a swamp. Singapore is the second most densely-populated country on earth, and that comes at a price. Close to everyone lives in rows upon rows of commieblocks.

Porn is fucking outlawed and the government blocks major porn sites. Or used to, the law hasn't changed but their block malfunctioned or something recently.

Anything about yourself, a normal person, is interesting to me. Tell me about your life, your work, your aspirations, where you picture yourself in the next 5 years...

Also, about the country in general. I know Japan is doing good in a statistical way, which only means it is doing good as a whole, but it doesn't really tell me much about the average citizen's way of life, living-expenses, renting, etc... I have way too many questions, so whatever you feel is important, IS important.

Thank you

Are you just going to ignore my textwall??? give me attention!!

I did read your long post. Sorry to hear that you don't like the place you live much.. i guess we sort of have that in common..
It also saddens me a bit to hear Singapore isn't as nice as stats and traveling videos make it look/sound, but, sincerely, I cannot really say it surprises me...
I'll be here for a couple more hours, so, if there's anything else you want to share, I'm all ears, friend

I am a university student. As you said you are crazy about animu, you prefer my high school days' story. As you may know, high school students in Japan mostly participate in a club activity. There is a great variety of it, and usually one school has 15~20 clubs such as football, baseball, basketball, orchestra, manga. I was engaged in football club in my high school days, but I was skipping it and fucked around with my mates, playing card gambling lol. Since club activities are considered to be real pleasure of high school, students usually do it so enthusiastically, but I was kinda underachiever at that time, I felt kinda out of place. It was two years ago

Of course it isn't. Grass is always greener on the other side.

>traveling videos
Visiting a country always makes it seem far better than living in it. Tourists only go to the city, where it's clean and has modern infrastructure. They don't go to anywhere else, since there's nothing elsewhere (apart from zoos) and all the hotels are in the city centre. So they don't see the filthy alleyways, hawker centres and commieblocks that litter the rest of the country.

You can describe my high school days as 男子高校生の日常(Danshikoukousei no nichijou). Although I was almost dropping out, mates didn't abandon me and always gave me courtesy, and we were always doing stupid stuff, like climbing a neighboring mountain of school and watch sunrise in December(we were almost frozen to death), walking 24 hour in a row to go to a small shrine which was said to have supernatural phenomenon. It was nice. I can say parts of my high school days were literally "anime" :D Though I'm still a kissless virgin lol

Did they trick you into crossdressing like in that animu?

I love singapore
>ywn do ns with your bros
youtube.com/watch?v=3gI0s1r6_HQ
please trade citizenship with me

2bqh I was crossdressed in my junior high school, not high school

>wanting to do - may Allah forgive me for saying this - NS with the local chads in a fucking forest while under the command of an even bigger chad on a power trip
would trade, but sadly that's not an option

Very cute!

Yeah at that time I was too premature to see the pleasure and just felt upset, though

>kissless virgin
what is the deal with japanese men becoming grass-eaters? (not dating or having sex)
I've had sex with several women, and it is great.. women are the one who aren't so great haha they are like Candy Crush Game
>At the beggining they are simple, and fun
>Later, they get complicated and start asking for money
I'm not saying that as if it was universal, though. That's my own personal problem.

I'm quite interested in this social phenomenon, which seems to be very important in Japan right now, to the point population is declining, could you illuminate me on this matter?

I thought the anti sodomy law was just on the books and not actually enforced?

>what is the deal with japanese men becoming grass-eaters? (not dating or having sex)

First I must say it's not a serious problem. The stereotype is extremely exaggerated abroad and often cited as an example of "weird Japan". In every developed countries people have less babies, so is Japan, and some of them still have a sexual relationship with others. When it comes to their personality, dunno why. However, I can say young generation are much more sensitive than older generation. The stereotype is formed by older generation (like millennium generation and boomers in America " back in era, I was working so hard! Why are you so lazy my son ?!") naturally my generation seems weird to them, who are more "competitive and sexually active". but it's not a big problem. Moreover, our attitudes toward women are not regarded bad, rather good, since they feel they are not treated like a "subordinate"

What's so bad about that?
Our NS is just 10 weeks of camping, cleaning up some recreation spots, visiting orphanage, raising our pet snake and scorpions, bathing in waterfall all the time,picnic,3x meal +3x snack time and the instructor gets you fresh mountain water every morning.
Fun times.

Hard to say, they enforce it if they can. So sporadically (for obvious reasons), people are still charged here and there.

Normie cunt

I loathe social situations, and Singaporean chads are horrid
And I don't like being ordered around by someone I don't like! Nor having to camp in a fucking humid jungle without Internet, or showering for six days.

You shouldn't be forced to do it, end of story.

Also, people have less babies because they cannot afford to bring up their babies. Nurseries and educational expenses are expensive. Plus they don't have to make them engaged in working unlike African countries. There are no values in Japan that " More babies are better".

It's not correct to attribute the less number of baby to a flood of sexual contents in Japan.

It looks like a fun party!
youtu.be/gxmp8nwQ43Q

Of you are in the army will there be a lot of poos and malays around or is it mostly chink? That's one reason why I'd never join the US army. I don't wanna serve alongside shitskins.

As I've mentioned it's mandatory m8. So the ethnic makeup is the same as the national averages. 70% chink.

Stop posting this retarded s*ngaporean shit! Disgusting!

>ah boys to men

here people have way too many kids.
problem is quality, not so much quatity: People with money and education have 1 or 2 or none (i have and want none) BUT idiots with no education, poor loser criminals have like 4 or more...

Next question: What do you study in college?
Do you live with your parents or with roomies?
How much percent of your income is spent on living expenses, and how much on leisure/fun?

I am currently studying linguistics, but wondering if I change my major to anthropology, for I read Tristes Tropiques, written by Levi Strauss and was really impressed.

I live with my parents. In Japan, living with parents is totally normal. So I depend on them for any kind of stuff. However, I earn money for leisure. I monthly earn 100000yen(1000$). I'm kinda backpacker and love to travel around the world, so that's my purpose to do a part time job. I went to Iran, Caucasian region, Turkey, former Yugoslavia, Italy France Spain and Morocco last summer. It totally cost 3000$ including plane tickets and took 2 months.

Exacto.

Stay strong

i also ive with my parents and im almost 30 years old, i think that may be a global trend right now, since most of the world's wealth is accumulating around very few super-rich people. I also want to travel the world soon, when I'm done with my specialization. I study Education (yes, thats a subject in college), thats how I became interested in Singapore, Japan and S. Korea, since they are so upstanding in that aspect.
> I will read that Levi Strauss book when I get the chance
I don't read many books lately, and Im not so sure you can find the ones I like in japanese or english... So I'll recommend movies:
> The Boondocks Saints (2000, by Troy Duffy)
> Heat (1998, by Martin Scorcese)
> Robocop (1987, by Verhoven)
I hope you enjoy them. I'll totally check Danshi Kōkōsei no Nichijō when I get the chance :)

Anything else you want to share with me? Everything you've said has been quite insightful to me!

>tiende a caricaturizar

I guess Heat was filmed by Michael Mann even though Al Pachino is cast :D my preference of movies is
>Lawrence of Arabia
>Once Upon a Time in America

OK your major is Education, so I will give you some examples.
Since your major is Education, I think you already know education in Japan is not good compared to those in Europe, especially Scandinavian (; ;) Especially, English education is shit af as you can see my Anglais. We(East Asian cunts like Japan Korea China and maybe Singapore?) are exposed to a highly stressful exam competition. As a result, students sometimes commit a suicide. I don't say this educational system is a big failure because some statistics show students in East Asia do better at exams than most of students from the rest of the world. However we are said to be " standardized, normalized" compared to other students whose individualities are highly esteemed. So this is where we should change.

>It actually saddened me to hear it is the #1 suicide nation in the world right now

all I can say is that there is not any place for you in Japan. As for S.Korea, a typical successful country by globalism, I have no idea if it welcomes you because unemployment rate is fucked up even though its GDP is expanding continuously. speaking Singapore, which is notorious for a country regarding foreigners as just the buffer to deal with recession just in case.
