>DUDE IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE, I LOVE IT xD

I also don't know. I think I am in the wrong but, to me, his films seem like a really boring concept that has some over-the-top characters. Doesn't seem really interesting

he was Tim & Eric before Tim & Eric

His films are actual experiences, not the usual narratively based structures.
It's like experiencing a fucked up dream, the constant feeling of unease, I love it.

Also god tier sound design and editing.

>His films are actual experiences, not the usual narratively based structures.
>It's like experiencing a fucked up dream, the constant feeling of unease
Yes, I said that on the picture filename

I just don't see what's so good about it. What's the purpose of watching a movie to feel unconfortable? Logic works in the opposite way

There is no purpose, it's just one of many different experiences you can get from cinema. Do you have a purpose in mind every time you watch a film?

why do people want to explore the idea of dreaming and see a film with accurate dreamlike imagery and shit? no idea

might as well ask why surrealism exists, why psychedelic rock was so popular

fucin autist

>Do you have a purpose in mind every time you watch a film?
Yes, to feed my soul

>What's the purpose of watching a movie to feel unconfortable?

So you view films only as entertainment?
Why do people enjoy being uncomfortable by watching horror films?
Did you enjoy The Thing? The Shining? Seven? Alien?
All of those films are made to make you feel uncomfortable. And by experiencing fear/anxiety/unease you learn more about yourself as a person.

Escapism is for the weak, embrace the negative emotions.

>What's the purpose of watching a movie to feel unconfortable?

It's not just that feeling, it's about feeling an entire range of human emotion that often don't make sense but are subconscious premonitions trying to get through to you.

>So you view films only as entertainment?
No
>Why do people enjoy being uncomfortable by watching horror films?
Only teenagers "enjoy" horror films
>Did you enjoy The Thing? The Shining? Seven? Alien?
Not really

they are quirky but there's no substance to his works

>like experiencing a fucked up dream
>tfw you never experienced a fucked up dream, so you can't relate
>tfw his films demand people to relate to them to be considered good

>his films demand people to relate to them to be considered good

Not really.
You never experienced fighting in the trenches but you still enjoy watching war movies.

>You never experienced fighting in the trenches

He's pure genius, this is not up for debate.

Cheers.

It's also possible to like some things but not others, while still consider him very good. I'm a huge fan of Twin Peaks. I also saw Mulholland Dr many times and considered it one of my two favorite films. But a lot of his films fall flat to me. I think Blue Velvet, despite it being stylish, is a bit banal. I think the rehashing of themes from LH, MD, to IE is a bit unnecessary. I don't think Wild at Heart is good at all.
I still consider Lynch one of if not the most interesting directors there are. You don't have to be a fanboi or calling him a 100% hack OP you can employ critical thinking.

bbbbbbbbbbbbbut mai husbando Marku Kermoduru says his favourite film is The Exorcist

*nods*

he's a meme director, his movies are taylor made for reddit

you sound like my girlfriend. i was laughing my ass off while she was getting angry.

>dude just like dalí painted dreams
Nah, way more Buñuel than Dalí.
