>This IS the other place! Muhahaha

Oh, no... I get all the girls I want and everyone likes me and lets me win at everything. What a nightmare! You sure showed me, Satan.

What a way to miss the point.

>if this isnt bait.
well what can you expect from a loser that gets no girls and never wins in life. You can't just get everything handed to you and expect it to be as good as earning it.

>Can't spend the money on anything
>Fucking the same girl for eternity is boring

I don't know if your parents raised you at all but imagine being grounded in your room forever.

You don't have to fuck the same girl, though. You can fuck any girl you want!

Why do you need money if you can get everything you want for free?

Not a good thing desu

This episode kinda explains why being NEET is a bad thing, you wake up, eat some tendies, play vidya, watch anime... then what? Go to sleep and do it again?
It's repetitive, the same as being in jail. The females have no other personality than to serve you, the gambling will become monotonous. If you can't see the point as to why that is bad, then i'm afraid you are insane.

>what's the point of enjoying yourself if you don't have to work like a dog for everything?

God, I hate wagies. Their puny slave minds will never understand the NEET's aristocratic disdain for labor.

Except you don't have to just do those things. You can do literally anything else you want as well. NEETdom offers infinite possibilities. Wageslavery offers only one.

just rewatched this episode

> i want a girl that won't quit
> STACKED
> okay girls you wait in here.
> girls look at him longingly asking what he wants

surprisingly racy considering they can't even say "hell"

>You can do literally anything else you want as well. NEETdom offers infinite possibilities.

In real practice this isn't true. Tell me some of the things you think a NEET can do and I'll tell you how it would actually go.

It's because the main character is a dumb crook, the only thing he wants or desires is money and women. Maybe if he were a better person he could think of something else to get in hell, but then he wouldnt be there.

I think this episode was critiquing the super wealthy more than NEETs which weren't even really a phenomenon back then

I think they didnt use hell as an artistic choice not because it was taboo

>having a lot of time but no money to enjoy yourself
LUL im sure on your deathbed all that jerking off, playing video games, and watching anime will really make you feel like you lived a fulfilling life

Since apparently the person I responded to has left or doesn't have the courage to try to respond, I will respond to my own post.

Let's say you are a NEET and you decide you want to do something with your time. Let's say: you want to learn another language.

So what do you do? You go on a website that offers free lessons in that language and you try to start studying.

But then... your mind starts to wander. You have a very short attention span from the years of being on the internet hopping from page to page seeking instant gratification. You do not have a strong ability to focus on a single task because you have never developed it. You never had to stay focused on a task and work at it because you have been living the NEET life for years. Maybe in the past you had it, but it has atrophied over the years.

So that's your first hurdle. Just coming back to studying when Sup Forums, reddit, and porn are just a click away. And they are more "fun" and entertaining in the short term than trying to do something more constructive like learning a new skill.

Then there are some other things to consider. If you are a NEET you're probably not that healthy. You probably stay up all night a lot and drink coffee or energy drinks to get through the day. These things keep you awake but cloud your mind. It's hard to stay focused on studying, or remember the stuff you have already been over. Your brain gets fogged. Also you are probably overweight and dealing with some lingering health issues that distract you. You'll start studying as soon as you start feeling better, but that day never seems to come.

But let's say you overcome all of these things and start to make some progress. You've spend several hours, maybe some weeks studying your new language. Now you want to try speaking it to someone. Well, the only people to speak it to are your family, or maybe your one or two friends you see once a month. They can't help you much because they have no interest in this subject.

So your progress with learning the language is very slow. And there are other hurdles.

Most NEETs live with their parents. If you want to learn a language you will need to speak it out loud. This can create issues with your situation. When you are in you 20s living with your parents as a NEET you are not really allowed to be happy. Not truly happy that is. Not in the eyes of those who are providing for you. If you are caught laughing and joking and having too grand of a time they will begin to take issue with it because it seems like you are goofing off instead of focusing on getting your life together, getting a job, doing work around the house, etc.

When you are trying to learn a new language you will need to speak that language out loud. Your parents will hear you. They will question what you are doing. They will not understand why you are trying to do it. Especially if you are trying to learn a language like Japanese. This will make you seem like even more of a deluded loser in their eyes, and it is likely to cause them to try to "do something about you" very quickly. There can be a confrontation.

You have to be quiet as a NEET living with family. You are probably going to be up a lot at night because that is the only time you will have any privacy. But you can't be in your room talking out loud because other people in the house will hear it and complain about it. Their house, their rules, you are expected to comply.

So now you are trying to learn a language without speaking it out loud. It can still be done but man what a hassle. And you have no one to talk to about your personal pursuits because they either are not interested or are actively insulted by the sheer notion of it.

"Why don't you go find people to talk to?"

Well, it's hard since you're NEET and you have no money. Maybe you have a car, but that car needs gas and gas costs money. And if you are seen "running around" too much as a NEET it can upset the balance at home.

Mate, I learned Japanese and German during my time as a NEET and started up a pretty nice garden.
You're projecting very hard.

learned how to program while NEET and now make a decent salary at a respectable company.

nice try.

I'll reiterate that being NEET is always a balancing act. Always being careful not to be seen as being too upbeat. Playing video games in your room with the door open? At your age? That's a risk. If you've got time to play games you've got time to look for a job. You have to sort of mope around a lot of the time, or be elusive about what you're really up to. Some projects you can be honest about, especially if it is something that has a good chance of making money for yourself. Or if it's a chance to meet a woman. Parents are usually on board for those.

There are other risks to hobbies in NEETdom. A lot of hobbies need money, and NEETs don't have money. But like anyone else they still want things. It's very easy to get obsessed with a particular hobby and end up spending money on it you don't have. Credit card debt can easily pile up. This can happen even with "good" hobbies" like woodworking. You think you will be able to pay it off later but it's hard to keep the discipline. NEETs have stunted growth as adults because they never had the opportunity to develop these skills. Or they have slowly lost them. And once you're in the hole it's very difficult to dig yourself back out.

And it goes on and on. The life of a NEET is not just free time all day to do what you want. You're actually rather restricted. You are not "allowed" to do whatever you want because you are beholden to those you depend on. This is all assuming you are still a sane person and not some autist who abuses his mother's good graces and just doesn't give a shit about being a sponge forever.

The hell was tailored to him. How do you not get that?

I guarantee neither one of you were NEET and want to pretend you were. You have to be two years out from the last time you worked or were in school/training to be a NEET.

Additionally, NEETdom doesn't truly start until you are past college graduation age, around 23 or 24. Before that you can consider home-study to be a type of education. Things are much easier in those years.

incorrect

neither 'hell' or 'damn' could be said on tv until the mid 60s. Even then it was frowned upon.
Even as recently as the late 80s damn was still somewhat rare. Bart Simpson saying "Damn" was considered unusual at the time.

in the 50s you couldn't even say 'pregnant'
