Why did he always try to attack Hogwarts anyway? its a fucking school

If he just wanted to kill Harry it would have been far easier to locate him during the summer and kill him then

He was not exactly secure with the Dursleys

Reddit.

He didn't "always attack" Hogwarts
>PS\SS
Dumbledore was hiding the stone in the school, he was just trying to pull off a heist
>CoS
The attack was engineered by Malfoy, who wanted to frame a Weasley for the attacks and kill the Muggle Protection Act, he was probably entirely unaware that the diary was literally a slice of voldemort
>PoA
Voldemort is not in this story
>GoF
Voldemort does not attack the school, he just has a man inside set up to isolate Harry at a crucial moment and teleport him across the country
>OotP
Voldemort attacks the Ministry of Magic after Harry is lured there, at no point does he attack the school
>HBP
Voldemort is engineering a coup and wants to kill the only man he thinks can stop him. To this end, he has a bunch of death eaters attack the school to make sure the assassination goes down
>DH
Voldemort has figured out that Harry is killing his soul bit by bit and is on the way to destroy the piece he hid at Hogwarts, forcing his hand and leading to a final confrontation at the school.

but of course, this doesn't matter, because dullest franchise in history, etc

>He was not exactly secure with the Dursleys
He was though. There are enough ploholes in Harry Potter without bringing up something she actually explains in detail. The magic that saves his life his bound to his mothers blood That's why he gets sent back there once a year.

Why didn't any of the wizards use magic guns to kill their enemies instead of silly spells?

style points and an inbreed population that looks down on anything muggle as inherently inferior

What the fuck does the mothers love have to do with Voldemort not finding out where Harry is in the summer

They were not in the same house where she died and no one there loved him

He did not cover his tracks going and coming from the house, he walked around in plain view out in fields and shit in the summer

All voldemort had to do was keep casting locating spells and find him moping at the playground, or just have an agent follow him from the trainstation

He was painfully easy to locate

He kept attacking out of frustration of being in the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

as long as he could call somewhere where his mother's family lived home, he was safe

who cares? its a series for children you pleb fucking tumblrina

voldemort could have taken his entire army to the weasleys house where harry was staying and killed him there

Why didn't Voldemort conjure a nuke on top of hogwarts?

good post

Because he was a villain written by the author of yhe dullest franchise of all time.

anti nuke wards

dumbledore probably had some kind of spell set up that would instantly alert him and the ministry if anyone who wasn't a weasly apparated near the burrow while harry was there

Couldnt Voldemort just hire a muggle not affected by magic to tail Harry, or put a tracking device on him

this is mostly true

I don't think him not knowing where harry was at a given moment was ever really an issue except for the last book/movie

What was Voldemorts tax policy?

Forget the taxes, we haven't even discussed the bonus situation yet.

Roll backs across the board and incentives for growth in the waifu sector

Incentives only for pure-blooded witch waifus

Voldemort had a thing for spectacle. He wanted to make Harry's death public and coincide with his return to power. But that return took time and planning and installing his agents in the right places. If he just murdered Harry outright, the entire wizard community would galvanize and crush him.

Also it didn't matter that no one in the house loved him. His Aunt carried his mom's blood so the magic still worked, regardless.

Why didnt harry just make a suit from is dead mothers skin and wear it so he is invincible

pansy is kinda qt. never really noticed her before. you just know she'd dom and tease the fuck outta you

damn fiction sucks there's not a single thing in that pic I'd want to read

The reason is fear of muggles

He is afraid the kind of confrontation it would require to kill the kid would be beyond his scope to contain and keep secret.

If muggles ever found out about magic folk, they would fill them with bullets.

It's the secret reason magic elite are prejudiced against muggle-bloods, they prove anyone could do magic not just special families, and bring the day they'll be found out closer.

There were Blood Wards on the house. Remember that shit that made Harry be able to kill Quirrell while Voldemort was in him in the first one? When he touches him and he dies? That's because of his Mother's love magic.

Basically, because Snape was a really good servant and he begged Voldemort like a little bitch to spare Lily because he was still all beta in love with her, Voldemort decided to give her the opportunity to run away that night he went to kill Harry. He literally told her to step aside and she wouldn't get hurt, but she stood her ground and died trying to protect Harry even though it was hopeless. Because of the fact that she did that willingly out of the incredible love for her child, it triggered some old ass primal magic that protected Harry from Voldemort.

Since he was staying at a blood relatives house, the blood wards kept him safe from Voldemort while he was in the house. He was vulnerable after he left, but that was just him being a stupid kid and Voldemort being too pussy to attack him until book seven when he went full Sheev, and had control of the government.

One major plot hole though is, after book four he did that ritual to bypass the blood protection, because he had Hary's blood in his veins after he used it to make his new body, so technically he should have been able to enter the house after that, but maybe there was some other shit Dumbledore did that Im forgetting about.

I guess there's a different spell that if he lived with a relative while still a minor then he couldn't be touched

So whatever, I guess

Guns are banned in the UK dummy

>BtFO

While Voldemort could still touch him, he feared Harry.
>Harry survived an attack as a baby.
>Harry defeated Quirrell.
>Harry destroyed the diary.
>Harry managed to survive again in the graveyard (while also managing to summon specters, and Voldemort fears death and the dead more than anything)
>Harry could inhabit Voldemort's mind effortlessly, but Voldemort couldn't possess Harry without feeling immense pain.

Even after Voldemort cast the killing curse in the Forbidden Forest, he still sent Narcissa to investigate Harry's corpse. He was still afraid to approach Harry until he could confirm that the boy was finally dead.

Also, Dumbledore seemed to hint that deeper magic is pretty subtle. He anticipated that Harry sparing Wormtail would eventually work to Harry's favor (when Wormtail felt a tinge of guilt or regret in regards to Harry, the silver hand choked him to death) and when Harry saved Draco in the Room of Requirement, it worked in his favor since Narcissa only lied about Harry being dead because she wanted to get into the castle and find her son. There's a chance that Voldemort felt a sort of mortal terror at the idea of attacking Harry at the Dursley's home, even if he didn't understand why he'd feel that way. Once he built his body with Harry's blood, he incorporated the protection that Lily's sacrifice provided.

I think Rowling's intention was that Voldemort continually made himself weaker with every step he took to make himself stronger. He didn't value the power of a complete soul, so he sought to carve his soul into as many pieces as possible, to the point where he could no longer control how much his soul fractured (unintentionally and unknowingly turning Harry into a Horcrux and giving Harry the sorts of protections that a Horcrux possesses). Because he didn't value love, he underestimated what Lily's sacrifice would do, and what Harry's sacrifice did (his most dangerous spells failed to have any real effect on people).

Because Voldemort didn't value the protection that Lily's sacrifice gave to Harry, he rebuilt his body with the blood of the single person who he should have avoided. By using Harry's blood, he gave the boy even more protection, since he was now tethered to Voldemort's life as long as Voldemort was still alive (and Voldemort couldn't die as long as Harry was a Horcrux). Since Harry was able to hold his own against Voldemort in the graveyard, and since his wand was a twin to Voldemort's, the wand was able to absorb some of Voldemort's own skill and power, which Harry was able to inadvertently use against him in the escape from the Dursley's.

Blah blah blah, ambition is bad, love conquers all, blah blah blah.

Why was Voldemort so obssessed with the Elder Wand? When he could have searched for the invisible cloak and cloak his Horcruxes or fit Nagini with the cloak so you have an invisible invincible snake reking in the battlefield

...

Probably too many moving parts for wizards to understand.

Baldymort couldn't touch him when he was at the Dursley's.

How would Voldemort have fared against Solid Snake?

Why did Moody make the Triwizard Cup a portkey, which required Harry winning in order to touch, instead of just a random pencil and handing that to Harry in person? This is the single biggest plot hole of all

>hogwarts is a school that teaches magic and only magic
>wizards have a 5th grade level of knowledge of math, science, literature, and history
is this why the series is so dumb because everyone are brainlets?

Nigger who needs algebra when you can literally zap shit and levitate luggage?

Threads like this are why you'll die alone.

Could Easy Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the US Army under the command of Captain Winters have defeated Voldermort?

Nothin personnel kid

>which required Harry winning
To be fair, Moody was pretty much guaranteeing that by Imperio-ing/incapacitating the others.

it's books/movies for kids much like LotR

>This happened in 1990

with gohnerreah in a magical electric wheelchair- yes

Because many magics are suppressed within the Hogwards grounds, but these wards were briefly removed for the duration of the task?
