Creator of infamous Playpen website sentenced to 30 years in prison

>Steven Chase—creator of the world’s most notorious darknet child pornography site, Playpen—was sentenced to 30 years in prison earlier this week.

>By comparison, his two co-defendants pleaded guilty and were sentenced to 20 years each earlier this year for their involvement in Playpen. According to the plea agreement of one of Chase’s co-defendants, David Browning, Playpen hosted 215,000 user accounts and distributed 50,000 images and videos of child pornography before the site was taken down.

>A Friday press release published by the FBI notes that Chase launched the website in the summer of 2014, and the FBI rapidly began an investigation. However, the FBI was stymied by the fact that the site was hosted on a Tor-hidden service for a few months. But the feds eventually caught a lucky break and received a tip from a foreign law enforcement agency, which included Chase’s true IP address.

>"From that point we took normal investigative steps—seized a copy of the website, served search warrants for e-mail accounts, followed the money—and everything led back to Steven Chase," said FBI Special Agent Dan Alfin in the Friday statement.

>The statement also touted the fact that as a result of the Playpen bust, hundreds of people in the US have been arrested, dozens more were prosecuted, and 55 American children have been "successfully identified or rescued." More than 500 additional people associated with the site have been arrested overseas.

>However, the statement did not describe how the FBI seized Playpen's server in North Carolina in February 2015. The agency then ran the site and used malware for two additional weeks to monitor its users. In a handful of instances since, the government has dropped prosecutions rather than disclose the malware source code it used to discover the true IP addresses of Playpen users.

>you'd think pedo was a tiny market but i guess not
You are like a child. You have absolutely no idea the extent and scope.

Good. Hopefully they're all executed.

It's the one thing the Trump supporters actually get right.

WHAT

use google idiot

+ pedophilia and blacked

i know, but try not to think about that stuff

enlighten on what?

>he's just now realizing the government has zero days to monitor his cunnyposting
topjej

they do this all the time

it's easier to let someone go their disclose the malware and exploits used to find them

kind of random but figure this is as good a place as any to ask: anyone got that .webm of the guy running through his house (pretty sure it was DJ Qualls) running around deleting fucking everything when the cops walk up to his door?

Because they know what they did was completely unconstitutional and would get reamed up the ass by civil liberties and digital rights groups, and justifiably so.

Aren't there court decisions about how IP addresses don't mean shit because you can't prove who was using the computer?

If this website is so infamous, why have I never heard of it before this moment?

Yes. Only an IP address is not enough to convict because of too many variables involved, and no prosecutor would actually take up the case and expect to win with only that as evidence.

Reckon this will make the cunnyfaggots tone it down?

Did the FBI save Sup Forums?

Same reason you don't know about the most famous scuba diving or knitting websites in the world: you're not interested in that stuff.

fucking tard

how often do you use Tor?

That's fair, but I feel like the article just assumes everyone knows about this Playpen thing and how big a deal it is. I hate when they do that.

are you retarded?

We can only hope.

there have been something like 4 big busts like this and some even with users in canadia(where hes apparently from) since hes started
i doubt it

am i fucked if i create an account on any of those website? i did not post or commenting or using real email or anything. can they really trace me back?

>mfw saw a neckbeard in the newspaper this week in Australia that got done for lolicon.
Apparently it IS illegal here.

Because if people get their hands on the code they can protect themselves against it. Letting a few people get away with it is worth being able to catch a hundred more. And I think if you get that close to being prosecuted, it's probably enough of a scare to put you off child porn for a bit.

>mfw sweating hoping they never bust other TOR sites i've been on

You're fucked. Run dude. They have your IP. Try and make it to either Russia or China, neither country will extradite you.

Not anymore. They passed a bill back in December that now gave law enforcement a blanket warrant to use any means possible (hacking, phishing, etc) to get into your computer, or find out who you are if you "disguise your IP by any means". Listed under "by any means" was Tor and Torlike services as well as VPN's.

And this Bill was passes because of Playpen, and law enforcement inability to charge a lot of people because of the means they used.

Surely if that were the case then every Sup Forums user in Australia would be behind bars?

They already have.

they're already on the way, might as well just kill yourself and get it over with unless you think you'll enjoy being Bubba's bottom

>Because if people get their hands on the code they can protect themselves against it
That's a valid point, but in the end the exploit gets found and patched anyways. The only difference is a matter of time.

And you'd be incredibly naive to think that what they did likely wasn't unconstitutional. Lot's of times, the feds believe they are above the law, and they exhibit that through their actions.

>he doesn't know they're honeypots
Did you find them through the hiddenwiki/centralperk?

Did it actually get passed and actually written into the law, or was it just proposed, like the vast majority of clickbait headline "laws"?

>thesun.co.uk/news/3488318/pokemon-go-child-porn-stash-troll-Sup Forums/
>Grant Lindsay Thiel, 24, from Darwin, Australia, is “very distressed” to find possessing animated child porn he used to “stir s***” online was in fact against the law

riddle me this: why would you be insane enough to create a cp site

because they're pedos

why do pedos post cunny on Sup Forums?

The article even mentioned for Sup Forums. He said he just used it to "shitpost and troll people".
It said a co-worker saw him with it and then he got raided by police.
So I guess that's where he slipped up?

I'm glad I never took my broken HD in to get professionally fixed.

This
At least go do it from some third world shithole that doesn't extradite. The guy in OP is going to be murdered within his first week in the joint.

Lolicon is illegal in Australia, UK, and Canada. But so far they're not actively going out of there way to search for it. If your laptop or something gets checked at an Airport, you can be arrested if it has lolicon on it. Happened in Canada.

They're also arresting people who order those child realdolls.

And these laws aren't far away from the US either, a couple of states have the child realdolls as illegal and some are pushing to make lolicon illegal.

Political Correctness has gone too fucking far.

...

by been on do you mean you just lurk or uploading stuff?

>Political Correctness has gone too fucking far.
No, it hasn't you pedo fuck. Watch your back, they're coming for YOU!!!!

>just lurk
As soon as an image loads into your browser you've "downloaded" it. There is no "just lurk" you fucking moron.

It was passed.

The child realdolls should definitely be illegal, but it seems strange that drawings should be too.
However, that may just be my years on Sup Forums talking. I can imagine if a normie saw some of these pictures they'd be revulsed.

Tor doesn't cache files. So any evidence from lurking is erased.

Whelp, doesn't help that king O'Nigger passed his EO to authorize all intelligence agencies to have shared access.

Pedophiles aside, we got fucked big in the ass on this one.

>a normie
That's the thing, YOU are desensitised by browsing Sup Forums but to the rest of the world a "cunny" thread is a disgusting abhorent CP thread.

They'll all die in prison

If a child sex doll stops a dude from raping a child... then I don't have a problem with it.

It doesn't save them, but it still loads them, besides your IP is being logged by the malware injected by the police. Read the article.

ANY free pedo site on tor is a honeytrap

God I'd love to be there in the interrogation room the moment when these sick fucks finally break and start weeping.

Maybe you have to have saved it onto your computer to be prosecuted. Otherwise 90% of Sup Forums should be arrested right now.

How would you know if a Sup Forumstard got arrested?

>The child realdolls should definitely be illegal

why

Only infected if you're a fucking moron. Who the hell turns Java on when they're using Tor (Tor Browser)

And that Malware only hit you if you had Java on.

>>The child realdolls should definitely be illegal
I can honestly understand it from a purely practical reason though, if you're enough of a pathetic fuck to buy a sex doll in the first place, it'd be nicer to have a lighter one.

Honestly, where do you draw the line? If you stick some massive tits on the child doll, does that make it okay?

What's stopping someone from buying any random toy doll of a baby, then drilling out a hole and putting a fleshlight inside it? It's absurd to think that silicone in a particular shape is somehow illegal.

You know how it says the Feds ran the site as a honeypot?

I have strong reason to believe Hiro does the same thing here. This is why those scumbag cunny posters never seem to stop. He's honey potting their user data until they eventually get turned over to the Feds. It's a brilliant plan honestly. Everyone knows you can't really hide behind proxies, vpn etc

If they used logic like that they wouldn't even go after you in the first place.
I'm guessing they wouldn't care and would prosecute you anyway.

What the fuck is the point of mentioning that he played Pokemon Go? I thought they were talking about the lolicon being Pokemon Go related and then I could try to pinpoint the source.

>Java
Don't you think the guy in OP had noscript? Of course he fucking did you spastic. And they still caught him.

It'd be like how murderers usually start by killing small animals. It's a stepping stone towards straight up child rape and it kind of normalises it.

why is this on Sup Forums

dont care desu

it's a slippery slope though...I think it'd be more likely that they'd get bored eventually and then feel emboldened by the act and want to move onto something even worse.

source: my ass though, I'm sure people have done studies on this shit but I don't really want to google things like that.

Lel

lol no.

infinity chan and the chan of master probably are though.

Finally Aussie shitposters are brought to justice

It's the implication that he's playing something used by children.

>those scumbag cunny posters

its only one guy you idiot

>be you
>downloads tor bundle
>turns on noscript
>HAHA I'm invisible!!!

holy kek, you're fucked.

...

>He is now a registered sex offender after pleading guilty to possessing child abuse material.
Holy shit

They caught him because of a foreign agency tracked account transfers to a bank in their country. They didn't bypass Tor at all. And only the morons who didn't disable Java are the ones who got hit by the Malware.

You know why inmates in prisons hate and often kill pedos?

I hate a corrections officer explain it to me. For the vast majority of them it's literally because they had horrible childhoods. Some of them are also parents, and despite being fucked up criminals they still retain a semblance of parental protective instinct.

It's pretty damn honorable when you think about it

Is it even worth it?
I mean taking the risk

It must be, it's literally the modern version of the forbidden fruit from biblical times. I'll choose not to partake, I'll stay in Eden even if it is a living hell. It's a hell without iron bars at least

why do you think people go out of there way to set up exit nodes?

Wrong. We already have evidence. Hiro is definitely handing your user data over to the Feds, pedo

Thank god that dangerous criminal was properly registered, just imagine what those poor fictional characters have been through.

Yeah and paying for sex is a stepping stone to rape... it's not. Rape isn't about the sex part for serial rapists, it's about the control.

It's simply a release. People who can't get laid have other options.

Pedophiles have zero options for release, and you're describing sociopaths. People with serious mental issues.

also a lot of pedos go after kids whose parent(s) are in prison

Wrong. You're talking about the guy from Canada, and he's definitely the most active. But there are many others

Funny how they call him an actual nerd. Haven't heard it used in it's original, derogatory meaning in ages.

It's not though. It's simply a release.

How much porn have you watched? Now have you moved on to raping people yet?

>not diddling kids is a literal hell
Top zozzle

Is that a knock at the door? Better go check, user.

Has anyone else noticed that ever since Trump became president the crackdown on pedos greatly increased? And not just in the states but all around the world

Enjoy prison.

>>Lolicon is illegal in Australia, UK, and Canada
also in France

Trump is the man.

Thank you ameribros.

>it's a slippery slope though...
Yeah man, as a kid, I played lots of violent video games, and now they just don't do it for me anymore.

I'm forced to go out into the streets and bash people's heads in with crowbars, and pull people out of their cars to run them over.
