don't feed the parasprite, love and tolerance everypony

>Me in the beret

Our little bundle of shame and regret, in a rebellious phase.

Note how much projection there is in that visage - Bronies obviously needed someone to act as a repository of their repulsiveness.

Sup Forums created the modern MLP fandom and the ruins can be found on /mlp/ in a small thread called /mlpg/ that was used as refuge by Sup Forums browsers after they got expelled to /mlp/ from Sup Forums after /mlp/ was created. Even before that mods tried to ban all talk about the show in march 2011 by auto banning based on word like "pony" and "mlp".

Ironically the vast majority of /mlp/ browsers and bronies never came from Sup Forums and they probably don't even know it all started here in october 2010.

Of course these days arbitrary bans, deleting of posts and forcing people to use /trash/ to discuss shows is common place and the future all you jeering sideliners chose when you got triggered by a show about candy colored equines.

Is it bad I kind of want to see this happen again? I would like to see some other media IP get banned away to its own board and see if it creates Fandom growth like it did with /mlp/. That would really speak levels to the foothold Sup Forums has on the internet.

The amount of Sup Forums stuff I've seen get forced to move to /trash/ based on nothing except shitty mods throwing their weight around is retarded. It's not even just """furry""" stuff

It's not the enemy- everyone are pictured as the fans

I hear that now all zootopia threads are getting /trash/ed. Fucking staff are cunts.

Delete the furryshit and move furrythreads but there's still plenty to discuss re a Sup Forums movie that has outsold BvS.

Steven Universe was almost the case, from march till October last year the show not only grew in size but the amount of autism shit it stirred on the internet, it really could've been another mlp but the hiatuses and zamii thankfully stopped that as interest died down due to many breaks but if the show did air continuously oh geez /sug/ would not only be banned but it probably would of been made into a new board.

People can say all the shit they want about the bombs but the truth is it saved the fandoms from reaching mop levels of toxic

It's very unlikely.

The reason /mlp/'s creation was such a deal is because of how fucking massive it was in the first place.

It was somewhat controlled here at Sup Forums thanks to the general, but outside people where driving themselves up walls.

Was SU exploding outside of Sup Forums, though?

Nah, SU never got as bad as MLP did. I saw some blatant troll threads on other boards, but never attempts to start off topic discussions all over the place, and I've never seen it spammed anywhere outside of Sup Forums.

Remember when they banned talkback threads, then generals for non-airing shows while only allowing generals and no other threads for currently airing shows, the let RWBYG keep its general and allowed Rick and Morty to have talkback threads and upwards of 8 threads running at a time when it was airing? All without any major announcement about new rules, just a solitary post in a couple of generals? Good stuff.

I still is, i feel sorry for Sup Forums sometimes

true
but consider that /mlp/ doesent get much of the autism that plagues the rest of the web we made a beast which we released on the world and got off pretty much scot free

tumblr

last time I went to the IRC to ask why mods were being obviously selective about stuff they delete, I got banned from the IRC. Mods are still fags, 2016.

I mean here at Sup Forums.

Mods will always be fags.

Even worse here because no mod is from the board, they don't fucking know the culture of the stuff the moderate.

'bronies' were depicted as fat NEETs obsessed with bestiality

SU fans are more associated with the tumblr boogeyman

That makes a huge difference in terms of how the media and public views the show

Me texting on the phone.

>MFW I got a warning when it started for suggesting that they make a sticky to explain the rules and prevent threads that they don't want from being made by people who don't frequent the board enough to have seen an vague, individual post in a general.

at least one of the mods watch SU

they also post in generals as a heads up as to when they're gonna start banning the threads

desustorage.org/co/search/text/steven universe/capcode/mod/

Well, it's marginally better now, I guess.

I WANT TO GO BACK TO 2011!!!

>Steven Universe was almost the case, from march till October last year the show not only grew in size but the amount of autism shit it stirred on the internet, it really could've been another mlp
Nah.

/sug/ is pretty weird, but I never got a sense of it growing explosively. In particular, discussion of Steven Universe is actually fairly well confined to the general. The only SU mentions outside /sug/ are when it's brought up for comparisons (like this), or the actions of a few dedicated shitposters who are very obviously trying to cause trouble. There's definitely no-one spamming Garnet in every thread or anything like that.

Honestly, I think one MLP may have been enough for everyone.

>didn't we create the bronies?

MLPG here

We still miss you guys

Please let us back, /mlp/ fucking sucks

>didn't we create the bronies?
yeah and then we herded them into a concentration board and never looked back.

Honestly, that's basically what /mlp/ was back in the day.

The Sup Forums bronies respected the general. It was shitposters that mostly made posts outside.

The problem was that /mlp/ was bigger than just Sup Forums, and the other boards were a mess.

/sug/ never quite reached that growth (in Sup Forums, I know it's everywhere outside).

no
I do like seeing mlpg drawfags in other threads though, nobby's been in the poppy opossum threads along with Klondike lately
makes the site feel a bit closer knit

>Announcing reports
Reported.

No, fuck you. Stay on your house fucker containment board.

Nothing can ever be a new MLP, no cartoon can explode that much in so little time.

I think it's possible, but not until MLP is long gone and forgotten.
There's just not room for two MLP's, and I've seen quite a few people actively trying to steer away from competing for the place. No-one WANTS to be the next MLP.

I guess you could say invader zim was the mlp back in the early 2000's

>I guess you could say invader zim was the mlp back in the early 2000's
I never saw any of that show myself, but that sounds plausible chronologically.

Like Dr. Frankenstein, when we saw what we created we recoiled in horror and rejected it.

Steven Universe was/is at that point though, you had the show's week-long premieres with plot, tons of fanart, everything on youtube (animations, songs, YTPs, events), and I've seen merchandise. CN's scheduling is holding it back with "Steven Bombs" because they want consistently good ratings.

>using ponies to depict Sup Forums as the bad guy

exactly, steven bombs have saved this series and the fans should be grateful it's not titled as scum of the internet (yet)

A lot of it had to do with people constantly bitching about the show every time they saw an SU image
The mods freaked out because to a lot of people it could have been another mlp on their hands. So they just got rid of SU all together without warning

I want to paraphrase the that last speech from The Dark Knight and say that people use Sup Forums as a scapegoat because we can take it and they need someone to chase and blame.

But I'm too lazy to do that.

>fans should be grateful it's not titled as scum of the internet (yet)

Oh thank god, for a second there I was worried that someone on the internet might not like me! I'm so grateful.

Jesus fucking Christ, was this drawn in MSPaint

>but there's still plenty to discuss

Like fucking what? No movies needs a general for longer than maybe two months after its release and even that is a stretch.

Have you been to the old /frz/ generals back then? That was literally a circlerjerk where nobody talked about the movie anymore.

The Zootopia general is on its way of getting to that exact point.

I'm not giving views to some shitty YouTube video. Anybody want to summarize?

What's up with the Army dude if it's about Sup Forums? Not to mention fat tits McGee in the background there.

PPG parody with ponies
We're the birthplace of bronies yet are an enemy.

In all honesty I'm more surprised that furries were in there.

Autisitic thinks that Sup Forums neckbeards, people who critic the cartoon and hasbto are the ones giving the fandom a bad image

Instead of him shoving his cartoon on everyones face

...

It wasn't just SU though, it was meant to apply to all generals and talkback threads. You can see that to this day for the most part, although a talkback thread occasionally slides through. The Rick and Morty threads and RWBYG were in pretty direct violation of that, which is one of the reasons people got pissed. SU in particular was supposed to be allowed on-topic threads, but those got put on a premature bump limit or outright deleted for several months.

I'm a fan of the theory of them just being lazy fucks, SU threads while they're airing are legitimately in the fastest threads on Sup Forums, if not the fastest period.

>House fucker

They actively delete and ban things like anti-tranny shit but not the hysteric tumblrites who keep making pro-tranny threads and plug lesbian shit non-stop every single day.
Sup Forums is officially a worse board than Sup Forums because of this, the mods silence everything that doesn't fit the agenda under the excuse that it's somehow off-topic, while a thread titled "I want Disney to make Elsa homosexual" somehow is apparently great despite doing NOTHING than invite shitposting and arguments.

Asian Moot needs to get this shit in check.

I thought Sonic was the MLP of its time

>anouncing reports to a reporter

/trash/ is the new Sup Forums

Remember how Mojo Jojo gave the girls superpowers by accident?

I remember MLPG hitting bump limits in 30 minutes on episode days

This would be a really good video for a cringe thread. But then again bronies are easymode with that shit. Also I'm surprised the mod or the barneyfag never found this thread.

More like cast them off in disdain. Kinda like getting a wart removed.

"mlpg" was shit WAY before /mlp/ was created. Checked it there a couple times, it's the same as the rest of the fucking board, except condensed in one thread.

Wait... isn't their idea of the average 4channer pretty much just what the average brony looks like IRL?

>Mods will always be fags.
This is true. Consider for a moment the type of person who would want authority on an Indonesian shadow puppet discussion newsletter, especially one with the reputation Sup Forums has.

We dreamed of creating the world's most autistic fanbase , and we succeeded.

/mlp/ should just had become /toon/, mlp is not as big as it was in 2011-12

Half of /trash/ is furry and or cartoon "waifu" dump and rule34 anyways.

and dont talk me about /aco/ that shit is Afro/central in drawn form, an offshot of exhentai and SA goons.

...

In /vp/ there was a thread about the show

You obviously were not here during the pony thing if you think this is true

Every artist has a work that they are ashamed off

Bronies are one of those things

>Sup Forums gets a wrestling board
>/tg/ gets a quest board
>Sup Forums still can't get a cape board
I'm tired of big two shit
They can still be on Sup Forums, I just want some of the excess threads to have a place of their own.

Remember when rick and morty aired there were like 20 threads daily.

I'm a capeshit and I rather we have a separate board so I don't have to sift through anthro furry waifus and loli threads.
Sure there's some loli cape threads but not as much as you manchild underages make.

SPLIT CartOons FROM CApe !!!

Now EVERY general thread unrelated to MLP is the same type of cancer.

Bronies and Sup Forums users aren't much different from each other. We're all kissless virgin autists, even if some of us have actually had sex.

>/tg/ gets a quest board
They-never-asked-for-this (except they always did)

fuck me I can't even watch it
it's too autistic
I can't stand people who act all self masturbatory about how great it is that they watch ponies

I even fucking watch the show but I know how to keep it to myself and not treat it as a significant part of my life

I really don't get it. Why was this show so fucking popular?

I watched a very good portion of it, and what I saw was average animation with copy/paste characters, inconsistent/sometimes lazy writing, not the best humor, and awful villains. Yeah the voice acting is good, but aside from that and porn what is there to actually go crazy about?

It was literally people on Sup Forums pretending that it was some godsend as a joke because it exceeded expectations of being complete garbage, and some people taking it seriously. It's a better example of a lot of people making themselves like something, or acting that they like something, more than they do at heart to try and fit in. More or less, a fanbase that began at the worst stage that a fanbase could reach.

I remember, around the time that MLP got its own board, the people that started things made a small thread apologizing, basically saying that things got way out of hand.

Well that wasn't what I wanted to post.

In the early days, it fell into the 'comfy' category - Small scale, character driven plots with recurring locations. Just in general a pleasant thing to watch. Kind of like WBB in a way, just set in a fantasy world instead of 2016 san francisco

Over time the show became more 'cartoony' - the small scale plots became larger, more one-off locations, plots became more 'event' based than character driven, lots more 'exaggeration' pushing the 'realism' eg clones, getting sucked into a comic book, turning into a vampire etc. With the most recent season they've almost entirely returned to the original format of small scale character based plots, although since the status quo of the show

It's a cold feeling, clinging to a dying fandom. I won't try to make excuses for liking the things I like, but watching people slip off the ride is harrowing.

Maybe the movie will help, or maybe not.

>being a fan of the fandom
Watch the show for the show's sake, not for any faggot-ass community

The show should finish with the movie, I'm ready for it to end

The quest board is pretty comfy though.
Like, I couldn't care less about /tg/ but I've been going there occasionally for random quest threads.

The show is the core, but it accumulated a thick mantle of fan content -- some of it quality, some of it "quality." And while the core should keep you grounded, there's no shame in enjoying parts of the culture that grow around it.

>the enemies of ponies are regular people

Nah, people legit liked it.

The whole ironic fandom is a construct made by people that juat can't get why people might like watching cute pastel horses doing cute/funny things.

I'm ready for the show to end, but I want Sunset to show up first, even if for just one episode.

Also, I kinda want EqG to continue for a while longer.
