Why would we need one?

To shitpost Ed Edd n Eddy memes?

what a cancerous mindset

Sad to see

Cartoon Network announces an EEnE reboot.

How do they ruin it?

Double D is gay.
Kevin is black.
Jimmy is a girl.

By announcing it's being rebooted

Every episode about Rolf is a heavy handed moral story about cultural sensitivity.

We actually learn where Rolf is from.

>Double D is gay.
but that's canon

You realize that "general" does not mean "recurring", right?

>trips of truth

What do you mean by that?

EW

Rolf would be removed like Ms. Bellum since he's an offensive character purely by existing.

Which is funny considering he taught me more about being culturally sensitive than most any other foreign culture character

dictionary.com/

I meant in the context of the board.
Isn't a general a recurring thread for a particular theme or subject by definition?

so accurate OMG.

Sarah vs. Vicky

Who wins?

Thinking about it now, Ralf wasn't really racist or anything just on virtue of that fact that the kids generally liked and respected him. He wasn't really an outsider and was shown to be best friends with Kevin a lot of the time. The kids at least tried with him.

No way he would fly in our post-9/11 times tho, not even because of "cultural sensitivity" or anything. Foreigners like Ralf just became too big of a loaded topic.

accurate again!

Why

Vicky can't hurt a minor.

If they handled it by simply portraying Rolf as a foreigner, not ever having an episode that focused on that dynamic, it could work.
But then he'd just be the token foreigner.

...

Kill yourself.

No squiggly outlines

Scamming is no longer the main premise of the show because that could teach kids negative morals.

Smooth line CA style of animation; outlines don't jitter.

Sarah is played as the victim of the Ed's abuse, not the manipulative bratty sister.

They make Jimmy officially gay instead of implied gay.

Pandering to shipping fags.

Overdue the running gags.

Why is that pan au chocolat so sad?

They just entirely overhaul the animation style.

>Double D is gay.
>Kevin is black.
Sounds hot desu

You forgot Johnny becoming a full-on demibungalow treekin there buddy.

Ed was the one being abused by his sister and neglected by his parents.
The only reason Jimmy was so feminine was because Sarah was the only who hung out with him, and Sarah was a spoiled brat so she would be pretty dominant and impress her girly interests and activities on him pretty early on.

If anything the show taught me to NOT scam because it always resulted in a negative outcome.

Ed, Edd n Eddy was treated surprisingly well, all things considered.

There was the first 'series finale' where all the kids are old but still live on the same cul-de-sac, revealing the entire series up to that point took part in Eddy's memories as an old man, which was sincere enough to be touching.

Then there were the longer holiday episodes - Valentine's, Hallowe'en, and Christmas - which were all neatly self-contained, extended episodes.

Then Seasons 5 and 6 kind of wobbled, after the kids went back to school during the autumn, and the show switched to digital colouring. Kind of the point where you could tell they were running low on ideas for episodes - Eddy reinvents himself as Carl, the kids each try and stop doing their annoying habits, Ed looks after Rolf's animals.

The 'Big Picture Show' might have wobbled a teeny tiny bit, too - the sunflower field and the gag factory just sort of happened - but the ending drew such a perfect line underneath the whole series. The teaser with Jonny and Plank at the end seemed like insurance, though.

...although, thinking about it, Season 5 had a genuine character moment for Ed when, after Edd gets a reputation for violence in school, Ed is the first to step in his way when he sees Sarah at risk. It's nice that the cartoon acknowledged Ed's love for his baby sister, even above how much he loved his friends and however much it tore him up inside!

That seems more like growing up and development rather than wobbling and teetering.
The sunflower field and gag factory were still part of the plot, though right? Like I'm pretty sure both scenes contributed to finding Eddy's brother.

And didn't Double D shit his pants when he saw Ed angry?

>That seems more like growing up and development
I think the only real, true example of this is Jimmy, and how his evil, mean-spirited streak came out of that episode where he sold Eddy a fridge-sized ice lollies scam. The rest of the kids never really 'grew up' the same way, as time went on.

The field and factory just felt like padding. I know they at least had a reason to go to the factory, but they spend that much time there - and the field was pretty much just for the 'sextant' joke - they were just running down the clock until Edd would have to come up with another clue as to where to go next.

But yeah, I can re-watch the movie any time and still smile a little at the way everyone gets a genuine 'happily ever after' ending.

...well, besides you-know-who.

I found this a few days ago. Old EEnE video game promotion reel and talk with the VA's and the director.

youtube.com/watch?v=u_-lIMpH2xc

Johnny?

Kind of a weird direction to take, and out of left field like that too, but then Jonny always was a little odd.

This is amazing

That was so much fun to watch. I didn't really care when they talked about the video game but the rest is so fun.

Not a lot on the sound design, huh. Kind of odd, considering the show's sound is arguably as unique as its animation

...

I really liked the game, is there some sort of hate for it?

>"I didn't think they MADE magazines like this..."

I remember enjoying it, though it's been almost a decade since I beat it so I don't know if it holds up.

I think I'll get a gamecube emulator and a Rom for it.
See if the challenges were challenging only because I was a ten year old with autism

Antonucci seems like a really cool guy: like he makes cartoons because he wants to.

>Ed, Edd, n' Eddy wasn't broadcast in Canada
Wat

Life imitating art

shame about the comments spoiling it

This got recommended to me today as well. Brought such a huge smile to my face.

I can't bear to look, is Rolf- IS THAT THE SUPPORT BEAM TO THE HOUSE?!

What's a support beam?

I know Sup Forums circle jerks the gag about an EEnE online game, but I really want to see a MOBA-esque thing made.

>*Wam!* "Forgot about the wall."

Not only that, but I feel as though I have consumed all the food within a five-block radius of my bed.

Shit, it wouldn't be hard to develop. Just needs people who know what they're doing and willing to make it happen.

It is the Hat of Discipline. DO YOU LIVE IN A CAVE?

I'm an amateur dev (and by amateur I mean I've only toyed around with MMF2, Unity, and UE4) but I'm confident in my ability to design.
Question is, would it be a MOBA or some TF2 inspired thing going on?

youtube.com/watch?v=qrqxPBFsTBY
And then The Claw was a TIE Fighter.

The meme mostly paints it as a MOBA/MMORPG hybrid, though personally I'd go with MOBA.

TF2 jokes and references would not be unwelcome though.

The main issues with development would be avoiding getting fucked by the long, hard cock of CN's lawyers and working out the server/client technical details.

Zapity zap-zap!

Well it'd have to be as non-profit as possible then.
Like, can't even take donations.

>EEnE thread

Well, time to rewatch an episode or two of it I suppose. What was your guys' favorite episode? Mine was the junkyard episode where they pretend to be on an alien planet. Kind of wish they did more episodes where they didn't just do scams and just had fun instead.

I'm such a hard core fan I can't pick a favorite.
There are some that CN kept re running for months on end that I grew to despise though

I've slowly been re-watching EEnE for the past week after seeing a thread about it. The show is so good, maybe not the first season but the rest is gold.

>"These pages are blank"
The episode where they try to make Johnny really annoying so they can get paid to get rid of him.

Without a doubt, EEnE is the best show to ever come out on CN, Courage the cowardly dog followed closely behind.

>sexifying anything EEnE
We've reached a new low

I FEEL IT
I FEEL THE ADRENALINE EDDY BABY

That one's great. I still love that van.

I need to rewatch it again, but I remember really liking the one with the turkey baster squirt guns.

>not the first season
what the fuck

>"moral sensitive"episodes
>no more ED BOI because its racist
>Plank is now a piece of recycled plastic
>no more kankers
pls dont touch what is sacred

My parents took them down, because I am grounded.

I have the first two seasons on DVD.
I think when I get the money I'm gonna buy the whole series and constantly re-binge it when I need to get my own place and it'll be the only company I have

meant for

1. Generals are cancer. Only true shitposting faggots want to repost and circle-jerk endlessly.
2. There is literally no discussion left to have. Only thing to talk about now is opinions and "what if"s that have zero chance of going anywhere.

The only thing new I can say about the show is that "I downloaded a torrent recently and the jokes still hold up". That is the extent of my contribution to this thread.

I think I hit a pipe.

I am re-watching all seasons as we speak and the first season just isn't nearly as funny as the rest.

OP here
Yeah, best not stretch too little butter over too much toast.
Still nice to have a thread about the show every once in a while.

Yeah I watched through the series on a whim and was worried it wasn't as funny as I remembered until I finally got through season 1

i think the only likely crime would be the sucking out of any child-like imagination, replaced with adults in cartoon kid bodies. Like a 'Sarah worries she's overweight after Eddy's gym scam backfires' episode, and of course the solution as told by Nazz is to be yourself and ignore the Kevins and Eddys of the world.

Season 1 had A Glass Of Warm Ed, which more than makes up for the rest. Maybe the Fad Freaky episode helps too.

This sounds the most likely

Cartoons aren't made by adults for kids anymore

They're made by emotionally stunted adults for emotionally stunted adults.

The only people who are still making cartoons like they used to are the people from that era who are still making cartoons

>mfw I was basically Double D as a kid
>mfw I'm still basically Double D
>mfw the idea of an assertive and slightly domineering girl gets my rocks off

That is a real good episode though, I'll give season 1 that.

A passion-project then...

I'll start working on character models.

Are you for real or are you just saying hopeful stuff?
Because I can help design and write.

Plank emotes

Half and half? I'm an animation student with skills in Maya and an interest in game development. With some other artists and some programmers with experience in Unity(probably the best free engine for a MOBA game with cartoonish graphics) it should be easy enough to do provided people actually work at it.

Also these are the only two character turnarounds I've been able to find.

Hell, you could mod an existing moba and re-make some particle effects and animations. Oh, and of course you would need tons of 3d modelling.

That's actually amazing
Several sprites of :plankhappy: and :planksad: and it's all the same face

>Who could possibly hope to find dish soap in this mess of a kitchen?
>There you are!

>There you are!
>Weird bottle, huh?

YOUR TRIPS ARE THE HERALD OF LIES!
D and May fo' life.

I lied, found Ed.

He doesn't know
