All capeshit is bad aside from the Dark Knight trilogy. And only the second one was great. There are no exceptions to this.

Fuck off disney shill

Stronger film than the first.

nice blog post

>Dark Knight
>Not edgy teenage bs

It really was not good at all. Every time a character punctuated a joke with some forced laughing and pointing out the joke I died a little more inside. All of the serious moments felt super out of place tonally. It felt like a retread of all of marvels ideas, and worse it played out like a bad episode of a Saturday morning cartoon. You could tell it was trying really hard to be fun and funny too. On the positive side, it was very pretty.

Doctor Strange?

who the fuck is adam and what does he do

This pasta is stale already. I demand fresh pasta.

what is there to discuss

Marvel wins again.

Probably Adam Warlock

Character important to the Infinity Wars, beats the shit out of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet

its a good thor2 / 10

it tries so fucking hard to have ackward moments which takes u way out of the "immersion" plot goes nowhere. starlord is sitting on a couch for 1 hour.
kid humor.
baby groot for babies

special effects are awesome.
lots of nice easter eggs and cameos.
Uatu watches you

Started off strong. When Ego got introduced, the pacing got a little weird. Climax was longer than it should have been, as was the movie. Pretty all right movie, beats your average nu Marvel movie.

LOOOOOL. BABY GROOT! THAT'S RANDOM!!!! *HOLDS UP SPORK*

Mantis is cute! CUTE! I want her to touch me and feel my love for her!

I knew it was going to be a cringefest when that 10 minute long baby Groot opening sequence started.

Am I the only one who felt like it was just an episode in a TV series instead of a movie? I don't know if it was pacing or the Marvel formula but it felt like it had the perfectly predictable character arcs for a TV episode

omg I loled so hard everytime baby groot said I AM GROOT LMAO
oh boy I wish I could have upvoted every time I heard a character talk about genitalia and intercourse in a disney film

something's not right

laughed harder during this movie than at anything else in recent memory. Fuck the haters, I support things that tend to not make me feel like shit.

I saw it yesterday evening. It was mediocre and very forgettable, but not outright bad when compared to some capeshit out there (looking at you, Thor). Far too quippy and the bad guy didn't have any real weight to him. He's a god and yet he says dumb shit like "you're pissing me off, peter!" during the final battle? Not even remotely tense.

This shit caught me off guard. I very rarely laugh out loud at all, but this moment was so perfect I was in the theater fucking laughing and clapping, some other guy started clapping with me. I would pay full price and watch this flick just for this scene.

You must have a retarded child's sense of humour, then

Which one?

Begone, shill

Taserface starts similing was a great... man & deserved a better life. Taserface giggles was the leader of best Ravager faction & Taserface start laughing died in the best way with the best name.
R.I.P. Scrotum He... I-I mean Taserface

I don't see how it's not the best of the Marvel Studios flicks due to the fact it has an antagonist who is an actual fucking character. This, Iron Man 1, and Captain America 2 are the only Marvel movies really worth a second watch.

Audio-visual porn with a serviceable plot and characters, doesn't try to be something it's not. Melodrama can be a bit much and the excessive quips are awful ("Welcome to the Guardians of the freaking Galaxy - but he didn't say freaking" ruined a great moment, along with "you are beautiful on the inside" towards the ending). Still enjoyable!

That scene got a mild chuckle from the audience in my theater. It just isn't that funny.

Wow are there people on this board that actually went out and saw this shit?

>I don't see how it's not the best of the Marvel Studios flicks due to the fact it has an antagonist who is an actual fucking character.
What? Ego doesn't even feel remotely believable. You can smell the evil dripping off of him from the very first scene, unless you're mentally handicapped.

>This, Iron Man 1, and Captain America 2 are the only Marvel movies really worth a second watch.
>Captain America 2
>Good
Winter soldier was fucking garbage, opinion discarded

>iPhone
user...

>Winter soldier was fucking garbage, opinion discarded
Different user here. I thought it was garbage on the first run through because for an "espionage/thriller" it was so plodding and predictable. I left the theater ready to fall asleep. I ended up watching it again last year and enjoyed it much more at face value of just being standard capeshit. Which it was.

I think the first Captain America is better in every way, though. Except for the fact that the movie offers no real closure within itself because the ending just serves to set up Avengers.

>Winter soldier was fucking garbage, opinion discarded
T-thanks y-you too

>You can smell the evil dripping off of him from the very first scene, unless you're mentally handicapped.
Doesn't exclude the fact he's a character that passes the "describe them without plot relevance" test compared to Yellowjacket, Dormammu, Iron Monger, Zemo, etc

What was your favorite Marvel movie kinomaester?

There is literally nothing wrong with goypple

Pretty solid movie.

Better action sequences than the first movie. They were more aggressive with the jokes, and not all of them worked, but they had more hits than misses.

Marvel needs to let more directors run with their franchises like they're letting Gunn.

>Winter soldier was fucking garbage, opinion discarded

Was solid. I didn't like the dramatic moments in his movie though.

It's always two characters yelling and then one character has an emotional breakthrough and says something vulnerable and then they both pause.

Very formulaic

DUDE DANCE OFF LMAO

How many times did Drax laugh? I feel that was a running gag in this film.

>Winter soldier was fucking garbage, opinion discarded

this. It's so predictable and nothing sets it apart from other Marvel "films". People often quote the duuuude it's a political thriller not a capemovie but just simply stating that doesn't make it so.

>I thought it was garbage on the first run through because for an "espionage/thriller" it was so plodding and predictable. I left the theater ready to fall asleep.
This is how I felt. An abundance of cgi, essentially one long, awful boring action scene where Cap beats down hordes of bad guys. It very nearly did put me to sleep. I thought the whole plot was really dumb as well. Really there is not a single good thing I can say about that turd.

>What was your favorite Marvel movie kinomaester?
Iron Man 1 is objectively the best Marvel movie. The original GotG was pretty good, and so was the original Captain America. The rest of the Marvel cinematic universe is a sea of formulaic mediocrity and utter trash

LOGAN is far better

I'd say a different sort of film than the first.
vol.2 was very character backstory driven. Am I the only one that felt some of the pacing was off with it?

Oh, if we're counting Logan then that puts the rest of the Marvel kiddycrap to shame.

Why would Peter's Mom make a mix tape for her son that includes Father and Son if Peter was so sensitive about not having a dad?

ego mentioned how he visited her 3-4 times after, so I am guessing she made the tape and expected him to come back and meet peter but he had already tumored her to die.

Why didn't he know what the fuck a fin looked like?

How would Ego construct a perfect Human form before he even knew there was other life in the universe?

>Really there is not a single good thing I can say about that turd.
I think the one point in the movie I got excited was when they found the bunker with Dr. Zola's brain on a huge computer. I thought they were going to do something really interesting with that, because that was the kind of crazy time-hi-jinks I was hoping for in this movie. Instead he was just used to dump exposition and reveal the laziest villain reveal ever:
>"By the way, Steve, tons of evil stuff totally happened while you were frozen for 70 years. We've never really talked about it or shown it, but here are some newspaper clippings. And guess what. It was all Hydra. Hah!"
Then they blew him up. I felt kind of burned. Even more so when they revealed they had planned for Zola to do more and be in a robot body and fight Cap, because that actually would have been cool as fuck, but they said they "couldn't make it work". And here I thought Marvel was all about "fun".

because he's a tree.

Saw it just a few hours ago.

Its just about as good and maybe bettwr than the first. If you liked that you'll like this.

I simply appreciate that a movie like it was made under a corporation like Disney. Its cohesive under James Gunn since he wrote and directed, its got some stylish direction, an insane amount of color and effects, and overall fun cheesy scifi comedy.

If you expected more then yoj went in with the wrong idea bu i thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was. Some of the story arcs were a bit by the numbers and some retread but i was surprised by how caught up in the experience i was.

Enjoy the visuals and comedic parts and the much better 3rd act.

I know this thread is cancer just by this salty cuntIf you thought SS was stylish and colorful then GoG2 would give you a fucking seizure.

Peter wasn't that sensitive about at the time she made the mix-tape because he was a child. His resentment and sensitivity develops later.

>If you liked that you'll like this
False. I really liked the first one and was so utterly disappointed by the plodding, predictable nature of this one. And far too much comedy, not enough adventure

All capeshit is shit no exceptions. Disney and Time Warner literally hire out armies of shills to gaslight you into having opinions about these "films" that are not your own.

> Muh Captain America 2 was a thrillur!
It was the worst thriller ever its a garbage movie same with the Batman movies and Logan and all the other Marvel shit. If you take away the brand recognition and the paid shilling and hype on YouTube and stop being told what to feel about those movies they instantly become garbage when held on their own merits. That being said GOTG is a shitty kids movie but I kinda liked it

Overall id say solid 6.5 or 7/10

Its weird and colorful which distinguishes it from any other movie that will come out this year even if the rest is mediocre or stays the course.

Id be wary of the polarized opinions here. Its neither terrible nor lmao amazing. People are just edgy cunts try to fit in by posing in their capeshit cliches

Worked for me man. I thought they were equally as predictable.

Was there ever any doubt that the GotG would win in either? Theyre just particularly well executed scifi comedy imo which suits me fine.

But its hard to have nuance in detail here

Really gets the noggin' joggin'

both my dad and i preferred the first, we thought they tried too hard with the jokes. the characters felt more relaxed though especially gamora, she was super stiff in the first.
Anyway, the strong scenes were strong but i don't know if the rest is even worth watching.

I don't consider GOTG to be capeshit. It's more like whacky space adventures with witty racoon who kills people made for kids. It's superior to everything in its genre that is DCU fi fantasy for example GOTG is better than Star Trek reboot, The Star Wars prequels and sequels, The Hobbit films the shitty Hunger games franchise standalone shit like Jupiter Ascending it's really the best Sci Fantasy geared for kids for the past 20 years or so

Well put user.

I knew he was the villain before seeing it and didnt notice excessive foreshadowing.

Its not like its a fucking mystery or arthouse sublety but its not "dripping evil" you have to have a very preconcieved or skewed idea of the movie to get that interpretation.

House of Mouse strikes again

I'm not a shill I swear! You can't prove me wrong btw

I'm curious about these two.
Stallone plays Stakar, the dude on the left.
Michelle Yeoh plays Aleta, on the right.

There's a lot of bullshit comic book continuity between the two. Do you think they'll even go the Starhawk route at all with them?

>GOTG is better than Star Trek reboot,
Fucking no. The 2009 Star Trek movie is a great movie with awesome cinematography, action, characterization and score. People just hated it because it was "not muh".

Only if you're a pathetic Star Trek fanfaggot

Awesome characterization? By turning each crew member into a ninja turtle with a single personality trait?

Mary poppins

I forgot.
What was the point of Mantis's ability to put Ego to sleep?

Yeah I'm sure everyone but you is retarded

Nope felt it too. For me it felt like the first one was better.

>his dad is the antagonist
Wow didn't see that one coming at all right?

Also most of the good scenes were ruined for me because I saw it in the trailer.

I enjoyed it because it doesn't shove diversity down your throat. Yeah I get Gamora is black, but because she is green she looks hot.

Because he was cranky and needed a nap. Literally no idea what an immortal planet needs with sleep

Apparently he's not in Infinity War though.

I don't know why but the part I laughed the hardest was when Rocket and Yondu were screaming and their faces were getting distorted.

I already fucking miss him. I haven't cried like that since I was a kid.

Realistically this movie is a 6.5/10 for neutral movie goers who don't really care about the Marvel brand, maybe a 7/10 depending on if your sense of humor mixed well with the jokes.

>tfw Peter loses both his biological and adoptive fathers in the span of about 5 minutes

Don't think he cares about the former considering what happened.

I couldn't hold back the tears when the final scene with Yondu came up. Peter desperately removing the filter trying to save him and Yondu just calmly holds Peter's face while he's dying.

>crying over forced drama in capeshit
>crying over literally who the character dying for no reason
Pathetic.

>tfw the funeral scene when the other ravagers came
I felt as much joy as Gunn's brother

It's good but not 10/10 pace god Winter Soldier is.

You're lucky I still have some supply. So here, have a pity (You)

so 3 months ago then?

faggot

@82514467
not even worth a (You) imo

Unrelated but did that Thor trailer seriously start with
>So you're wondering how I got in this situation
>We're going to have to go all the way back
Fucking why

Everything is quipfest now. Even Ragnarok. I'm surprised that scandinavians are okay with their mythology turned into joke in all terms.

I didn't see it, but Mike Stoklasa and Jay Bauman made a pretty good case for it being good, so I like it. Decent flick, 8/10, recommended.

They just built up his character through the entire movie.

>exile from the Ravagers
>mutiny
>humiliation by crew
>reflection in the cage
>bonding with Rocket and helping Rocket with his issues
>helping the GotG
>Peter's flashback in the Ego fight to Yondu teaching him
>saving Peter
>"he was your father but he wasn't your daddy"
>"glad you were my boy"
>putting the suit on Peter and touching his face
>Peter's eulogy
>Ravager send-off

Serious fucking feels man.

looked great, kurt russell as the bad guy was pretty good. suffers from the same problem as the first movie (cutting the tone of a scene in half with a joke) and a few of the action setpieces were boring and tension-free. i laughed a bunch of times. was satisfied. not great, certainly not terrible or even bad. decent.

Man his character arc was a real treat. I just wished he didn't die so soon.
