Adam McKay to direct big screen adaptation of Irredeemable
20th Century Fox is gearing up for another big superhero movie, but this one won’t star the X-Men or Deadpool. Deadline brings word that Adam McKay (The Big Short) will direct a big screen adaptation of the Mark Waid and Peter Krouse comic book series, Irredeemable. Tommy Wirkola (Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) will pen the script for the film, which will be produced by Boom! Studios’ Ross Richie and Stephen Christy with McKay and Kevin Messick through their Gary Sanchez production banner.

McKay is no stranger to comic book adaptations, having previously been in line to direct both The Boys (based on the Garth Ennis series) and Marvel’s Ant-Man, eventually lending help with the script for the film. He’s also worked on the script for its sequel, 2018’s Ant-Man and The Wasp.

looks like some Miracleman rip off.

Get educated

Silly Adam. MoS and BvS all ready exist.

Snyder must be salty as fuck.

The movie hasn't even been made yet and already Sup Forums is weighing in.

Didn't Zack Snyder beat him to it? Oh wait.. that was with actual Superman and was shit.

Yes. Because Alan Moore rewriting a Captain Marvel knockoff in the 80s means he owns the copyright on 'What if Superman turned evil?'

kek how will hack snyder ever be able to out-edge this?

>kek how will hack snyder ever be able to out-edge this?

Superman will break his neck in the crossover.

Making a serious realistic Superman that kills when needed like a cop IS NOT COMPARABLE TO A PURE FUCKING EVIL SADIST WHO KILLS BILLIONS JUST BECAUSE HE CAN YOU INSANE MOTHER FUCKERS!

Salty because Plutonian will wreck more than Superman?

No joke, I'm a little annoyed this is coming when Man of Steel and Batman v Superman have already shit on Superman's good name.

Where's the Samaritan movie? Where's the Supreme movie?

You're right. We need to adapt Superboy-Prime.

>We need to adapt Superboy-Prime.

I was about to rant about how awful it would be, but then I realized that I actually really do want to see it.

>You're right. We need to adapt Superboy-Prime.

YES

...

Honestly I'd rather see this on the big screen.

This is a comedy or it's serious?

Why did I find Irredeemable more comfier than The Boys?

Id actually be interested in a DC movie again.

Mainly serious with a little bit of comedy. Think The Big Short except with murderous superheroes instead of banking problems,

I'd rather have a Superior movie. The first scene, when the main character is at the movies with his friend, could be easily re-written to where they're watching a DCEU-style Superior movie.

>yfw they get hack snyder to direct and he fucks it up like usual
>can't even do superman right when he's SUPPOSED to be grimderp
I'd honestly laugh.

Haven't read Irredeemable/Incorruptible in a few years is it still ok?

Well this will never happen

>is it still ok

What the fuck does this even mean fuck Sup Forumss hivemind circlejerk make up your own damn mind

it ended

>that was with actual Superman
Plutonian becomes actual Superman in the end.

Does this mean we could get an Incorruptible movie down the line?

You know Seth Rogan wants to adapt it, right?

If you haven't, go read Preacher and then read the synopsis of his adaptation about to go up on AMC.

>Yes. Because Alan Moore rewriting a Captain Marvel knockoff in the 80s means he owns the copyright on 'What if Superman turned evil?'

It would not surprise me if he did think that.

According to the flash and the knightmare scene. He actually goes full plutonian.
Batman is always right

Now we need an incorruptible movie.
We need Max damage to show the plutonian what it means to be a man and a real hero.
Also MoS related jokes

>Cassidy isn't wearing sunglasses because it's "too hard to emote" with them on

kill me

The premise was cool but then got fucked completely by showing he was rotten from the start. What's the point of having a what-if-superman-went-nuclear story if he was never superman but superboy prime to beign with?

>20th Century Fox

Okay?

No, it used to be okay but then it went bad with mold, you utter retard.

You do remember that the series ends with him becoming Superman, right?
