>Dover Boys not #1

Decent list but
>coal black and de sebben dwarfs
Wow

>tfw no radiocative man in the DC universe
He'd fit in better there than Marvel desu

DAMN I forgot about Old Mill.

>The Cat Concerto makes the list
>Magical Maestro doesn't

Ah well. At least Black Luck Blackie got on the list, and King Size Canary made the top ten.

Looks pretty good. There were a few that I did not recognize or see.

The 50's must have been a hell of a time for cartoons. You either had Looney Tunes or semi-abstracted simple cartoons here and there. I wonder if people reacted to that stuff the same way we react to all the AT/noodle-folkish animation.

What would you replace with, in that case, though?

...

Do you have a link to that Radioactive Man video? I can't find it anywhere.

No, I dont, but I just remembered

>MY EYES!
>THE GOOGLES DO NOTHING!

Sucks because I've been looking for it, it's one of my favorite Simpsons moments.

>The Cat Came Back even on the list.
Okay.

All this list does for me is reveal how little I know about animation history. I’ve seen almost none of these. And even then, I haven’t seen anywhere near enough cartoons not on this list to even understand why these specific cartoons were the ones voted on.

Thanks for making me feel ignorant, user. I really appreciate it.

>Bambi meets Godzilla
Why the fuck is that even on the list?

>by taking votes from 1000 people working in the animation industry

that's just vague enough for me to be skeptical

as for the list i'm not a connoisseur of old-timey cartoons but it looks alright.

kind of curious about the big snit?

It’s, uh, interesting

It's easy to overlook, but it's not just a clickbait article: it's a published book from 1994. The hows and whys were no doubt printed inside, but the site here only lists with no explanation.

Truly ahead of its time, I remember watching it all the time back then in Cartoon Network

Its a pretty rad book actually. The commentary and extras of every cartoon are great.

I am wondering what a modern version of the list would like. I think most of the classical shorts will be retained but the independent shorts i.e. the cat came back, the big snit, will be replaced with something like don hertzfeldt's work or something similar.

No, I really don't agree that cartoons stopped being great after 1960.

I love WoY as much as the next guy but I don't think it belongs on this list.

>1994
Well that explains why Baby Doll from Batman:TAS is conspicuously absent.

The list was made in 1994 and it includes cartoons made in the late 80's. At least read the damn thing before shitposting.

>AAAAAAAAAAAAAACUTUALLY
Sorry. "Normies" do this thing where we speak in hyperbole in to make a point. If I said "I don't think half this list needs to be from the 1930's" that would also not be an invitation to count how many are no matter how much your autism compelled you to.

I think my point stands just fine in the face of a staggering five exceptions. I think most of these cartoons are fine but not great and if the list were done again today half of them wouldn't make the cut in favor of things from the 90's or later.

>no anime
Not memeing, I really think this is a pretty huge oversight.

It's pretty evident that 'Western' is implied.

this list is older than most of the posters on this board.

I genuinely think it does. Give it 10 years and people will remember it more fondly. Wander Over Yonder is the magnum opus of one of the few living legends of western animation and will be remembered as such.

I think most people would agree with you and not me but I think the reason for that is the same reason this list from the 90's is full of cartoons from the 30s and 40s. The older something is, the safer people fell in calling it great.

Well I'm calling it now. Fuck it.

Rabbit of Seville > What's Opera Doc

Fucking this, I don't know why everyone thinks otherwise.

it is?
where?

huh.
yeah that's pretty good.

It's nice. But why it's in top 50?

>coal black and de sebben dwarfs
brave choice.

also brave : The Three Little Pigs
