DESIGNATED STREET SHITTERS were offended by Ghandi's portrait in the series for some reason, even though he's one of the best characters in the show.

Indians are fucking stupid

It's a nice story, but completely implausible. Clone High was not broadcast outside of North America during its initial run, and those were the days before social media was a thing. Even if a few Poo In Loos were angry about a cartoon no one else in their country had seen, MTV wouldn't have given a shit.

And Teletoon cared even less, because they kept airing it after MTV stopped because of low ratings.

>Clone High was caught in a crossfire when citizens in the country conducted internet searches on the Maxim article but also found out about the show's Gandhi character on MTV's website. This sparked an outrage in India over the show's depiction of Gandhi.[9] On January 30, 2003, the 55th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination, approximately 150 protesters (including members of parliament) gathered in New Delhi and vowed to fast in response to Clone High.[10] Tom Freston, the head of Viacom (owner of MTV), was visiting the network's India branch and was "trapped in the building," according to Miller. In 2015, he recalled that protestors "basically threatened that they’d revoke MTV’s broadcasting license in India if they didn’t take the show off the air."[4]

Couldn't they just have removed Ghandi (arguably a tough move because he's such a great character) and continued on with the show?

Arg that cliffhanger ending also kills me so much, and yet at the same time feels kind of right, anyone else feel the same?

Couldn't they have explained he's not Ghandi, he's a kid who was cloned from Ghandi and named after him?

i believe they did, and the protesters responded that ghandi's will was so powerful that he would still be the same person, mind and all.

Fuck off pan

Apparently that's what the creators were planning (and probably what would've happened if the show also had gotten good ratings)

I don't want to imagine the show without Gandhi.

One thing they considered was revealing ghandi to be a clone of gary coleman instead of ghandi
