It's funny but the other day I had access to HBO and their shows and their cast choices are so jarring. You have tv shows that in theory would appeal to men but the casts are full of women in all sorts of positions of power and the only men are usually black, maybe one or another typically white antagonist/rival. I remember reading some pasta about how the big bang theory was actually marketed at women because marketers came to the conclusion that if they get the female audience the male audience will soon follow. Theaters are doing so poorly because there's on-demand TV and netflix which are being outrageously successful. That's like claiming the drive-in theater died because monster movies were casting too many giant moths.
