I had it all. I had a meme folder that was very decent, a bane screencap collection that was getting very respectable.

It has the best cgi of 1999. Or 2010 - 2017 for that matter.

I was close to being complete.

The 15 year olds that adore it don't realise that it's a satire. So now the movie, with the fanbase, is steeped in irony.

DUDE NIHILISM LMAO

This.
Childhood is wanting to be Tyler
Growing up is becoming the narrator.

the attention to detail
everything is described to a T.

>why special

homoeroticism

Brad Pitt and his portrayal of the free archetypical male of that era, we all wanted to become as teens. As said in the movie "I look like you want to look, I act like you want to act, I fuck like you want to fuck"

>the attention to detail

Oh really? When they watched the skyscrapers being blow up, why didnt the windows shatter in their faces?

the """"subtle"""" homolust

>dubs confirm

it was fight club that made me go to the gym as a teen.

see, this is what the fucking liberal media did to you. searching faggotry in everything, bc it turned you as well faggots

It's pretty cool to watch. The whole film is a wild ride, unfortunately that's also the reason a lot of people miss the point.

They let Tyler seduce them with his charisma, they go from corporate slaves to cultists slaves, even Sebastian (the real name of the narrator) falls into this trap. In the end (which is more explicit in the book), he decides to take control of his life instead of having others take decisions for him (his boss, dad and Tyler). Sebastian does what he wants, he is looking for what is going to make him happy, he decides to start a life with Marla.

The film makes important points about the strange and somewhat meaningless materialistic demands of our society.

That's what I was told in my art class.

Honestly the movie was just fun to watch

the author is a faggot

favorite movie in my last year of high school
the theme of men being emasculated and losing their way in modern life is more relevant than ever

At the time this part was so cool in the theatre. It was wow no show or movie has ever done that

youtube.com/watch?v=_IziexciKCA

Sebastian isn't his real name. That is just his alias in Fight Club 2.

Nobody cares about the author.

>, he decides to start a life with Marla.
Something that always bothered me - are you a cuck if she fucked your alternate ego? I mean, fundamentally the genetic material is the same so it would not result in the negative effects of regular cuckoldry - but wouldn't you feel like a cuck?

A stylized and well directed film by Fincher. A character study with the theme of men being emasculated and striving to break free from the role that men had during the turn of the century. An engaging performance by Brad Pitt. Great visuals and camerawork. Dialogue can be a bit clunky at times but I feel like that is the point of it to showcase how men are just saying what they are told. A story with a good twist that is warranted and isn't just thrown together for the sake of it like a SAW movie. Some people like the gritty aesthetic.

Those are reasons I love it anyway. A lot of reasons why people hate it is because it is edgy and because the vocal fan base either don't really understand what the film is trying to portray through satire and come of looking like retards that think they are of a superior intellect.

It implied something was wrong with American life while a Democrat was in charge and the kikes didn't crack down on it yet.

You don't know where I've been Lou

That's his legal name. It's in his driver license which he used in FC1 to reveal to Marla his real name and his revealed in the sequel(Tyler doesn't call the narrator Sebastian because he feels that's his "fake" name). Sebastian, didn't liked his identity and was always trying to be someone else, in FC2 even with all his problems he accepts he is Sebastian and he must stop Tyler Durden.

its the first edgy film you discover as an eighth grader

Technically not. Especially because they mention that on the book
>Marla- I don't it's love, but I think I like you
>Sebastian-Marla likes me? No, she likes Tyler
>Marla-No, I want you. I know the difference between you and him

Fight Club is the most frankly and cheerfully fascist big-star movie since like ever. A celebration of violence in which the heroes write themselves a license to drink, smoke, screw and beat one another up.

Sometimes, for variety, they beat up themselves. It's macho porn -- the sex movie Hollywood has been moving toward for years, in which eroticism between the sexes is replaced by all-guy locker-room fights. Women, who have had a lifetime of practice at dealing with little-boy posturing, will instinctively see through it; men may get off on the testosterone rush.

I don't think it's love*

damn he actually looks good here

in that one pic of his whole body you always see he looks skinny as fuck, i was starting to think him having a good body in FC was just a meme

>movies women will never understand

It's just the identity he chooses to adopt to distance himself from Tyler. It may be his legal name in the sequel however that isn't the case in Fight Club 1.

dont know ive never seen it

wait theres a fight club 2?

Yeah it's a comic written by the original author. The first half is pretty interesting seeing what happens after the first book/film but the 2nd half goes down hill ad has an absolute dog shit ending that is trying way to hard to be meta.

there should be a special category for films like this and American History X. They lure you in with some message or something like that but you end up being shown a topless guy who youll never be like. Its still very much kino tier.

the book

Are you serious? Look at the people protesting today its basically porn for people who want to "rage against the machine'. Also Pitt looks like a god in the movie so that probably helps

This, Fight Club and American History X are absolute kinography

it was my first gay experience, I dled pictures of brad and even bought a tanktop to look like him. it was a weird relationship with my dad when he found the brad folder on the pc

I still struggle to understand the message of American History X but it is undeniably a 10/10 no discussion

I see it as 'hate begets hate'. As Danny said, "life's too short to be pissed off all the time". They lived in LA so saw the violent gangs like the Crips, although some blacks were great people like Sweeney. When they humiliated the Crips in the basketball game, they came to steal the truck as revenge, and Derek killed them. It was just constant escalation of violence.

yeah but they won fair and square, there was hardly any violence, they had no right to try to steal his truck

they were thugs, what do you expect

weird how it happened that the thugs were black

You are a fucking nigger.

im whiter than the cotton you get made to pick off the plantation

We're not special, we're the all singing all dancing crap of this world.

There's a Fight Club 2 book? When did that come out?
>1996
How did I not hear about that?
>comic book
Oh, that's why: it's not canon.

t. Jamal "Dindu" Nuffin

It's not that good either.

>What makes this film so special?

The year that it came out
If it came out today, it would be panned

lmao

Was Bob real ? or was he a hallucination like Tyler and Marla?

...

bullshit does it suck

It's patrician, that's why.

>It's the Reddit of movies

Whoever wrote that goes to Sup Forums a lot, I see.

please tell me that's some kind of joke?
>fantastic 4
>no American History X

These sorta get the point. It's an enjoyable movie to watch when you don't look any deeper, but I honestly think its a crash course for people into the justifications for nihilism and being critical of office life and contemporary American materialism.

1999 had 3 movies like this in Fight Club, American Beauty, and Office Space. Times were pretty good economically for the most part, but even so, you find that even in the best of times people seem to find issue with the structures and monotony of life around them.

just remove drive and mad max and you got yourself a good b8

..The Matrix, Cube, Existenz, The Idiots

Gattaca

Keeping it in is what makes it good bait though

It's fun and interesting with well-developed characters, funny dialogue and top tier acting.

Nothing but propaganda for adolescent males.

However, www.jackdurden.com sheds more light on the possible fact that both Marla and Tyler are fictional people. We already know about the latter, now it's a matter of trying to interpret what exactly happens with these characters. Personally I think the site's theories are marginally correct but tend to be a critical over-analysis of the film.
