The original fucking point of the Power Rangers (and all sentai series) is basically to show off as many special effects as possible with an incredibly limited budget. Then people realized that kids loved them a shitload more than the simple Kaiju-model (still a classic, and sentai shows have a flare when it comes to monster battles) and you can more easily market toys.
These... these things do neither of those, failing spectacularly.
