Like almond milk

...

Go ahead and do better

You have no idea of the complexities involved in DCC

>that floor snapping into place

not an argument

I'm sorry your lizard bro died, but it's been a zillion years Obi Wan. Go shoot sand niggers or something.

stfu lucas

...

That's not even cgi, it's just a painting on the wall

> embarrassing
you can literally see individual scales

...

It's a bad CG backdrop. See the floor snapping into place.

The steps snap into place, to be specific, not the floor in general.

Nothing stands out more than the Star Wars special editions.

Look at this AMAZEBALLS cgi we added to this creaky old film and YAAAAWNFEST puppets.

Now, it looks like something from a fucking Sega Saturn game.

Even as a child I thought this looked like fucking shit

I remember watching a movie when I was younger

There was a big scene where the helicopter crashed right next to them, but they somehow they filmed with a different camera or something cause you can easily tell it's a screen behnd them it looks so bad

Wish I knew the movie

Almost every single time anyone has tried to replace a living object with CGI looks terrible, new or old.

CGI is for world building and accenting ONLY.

Was this supposed to be spooky? I laugh every time

DELETE THIS

i thought about this aswell

i remember that show was very frustrating to watch, somehow i always hoped he'd succeed catching that smug fucker

...

Same here. I just got depressed seeing his hopes quashed over and over again by that vengeful trickster god.

Same with the Tom&Jerry cartoons where Tom gets punished.

Palpatine's office was a real set.

It's odd, though. It seems like Lucas didn't shoot this scene on the real set, but rather shot background footage of the set, then put them in front of a green screen for this scene. That or he shot it and did some touch-ups. Either way, something fucky is going on with this. For instance, Palpatine's nose briefly disappears behind a background lamp around 0:04.

The CGI work in the window, though, is really good, it's just all the unnecessary CGI that's really hurting it. Also, that hallway at the end of that webm looks like a piss poor matte painting.

I don't know what movie is that but I fucking hate it.

I'm still mad about the musketeer episode where tom gets the guillottine because jerry can't fucking stop stealing food.

>itt we make fun of an emerging technology

It was in ROTS. That webm is from AOTC.

This looks good

No, was are making fun of the misuse of technology.

Jurassic Park came out in fucking 1993, and it used CGI properly, to augment/complement animatronics/puppetry which is why it still looks good to this day.

The original King Kong is primitive by today's standards but still awesome. Bad CGI is just shit.

He got his marker out.

To be fair, the technology was still new and, if Lucas and others hadn't experimented with it, it really wouldn't be nearly as good as it is today.

The CGI of the creature is still good. Just look at the detail of the scales and feathers. All that dirt flying around was the problem.

...

...

It was a real set in AotC, too.

>just checked
>its true

It seems to me they had a problem with compositing, not the CGI itself.

...

This is fake right

I'm so sorry for Chris Pine. Hopefully for him he at least got to fuck her.

OP said CGI, not practical effects - the pic you posted is Daisy Ridley in prosthetics which isn't CGI

You fucker, kek

needs a higher res texture

This looks fine.

Isn't he gay?

Now this is embarrassing.

Holy fuck

Obi-Wan looks bad tho.

He is? Well, maybe he fucked Ben Foster.

Wait, this makes it worse, why's he in this shit if it's not for the poon?

This.

Die Hard

For some reason that frame looks really Star-Warsy to me.

The lighting and expression on his face work well.

Ah, what could have been...

...

CUT THE GREEN SCREENS JESUS CHRIST IT LOOKS LIKE 3 SHOTS AWKWARDLY PASTED NEXT TO EACH OTHER WHAT THE FUCK AAAAA

The texture looks fine the way it is.

> Imagine being Christopher Tolkien
> Father told you these tales as a child
> Brought both of you closer together
> Entrusts his work to you after his death
> Continue his legacy and argue his legitimacy for decades
> sees pic related...

This shot has so many wrong things going on, like shadows is completely messed up.

>Tfw you'll never become the Start Wars

WHAT THE MOTHER FUCK

>dem hoses/pipes/whatever on the floor
>dem R2 heads
>dat turbine blade in the left
>dem mechanics at the lower right
Set design is kino, but the render is terrible.

The thing with the prequels is that it looks fine in motion, but if you look at stills it looks like a 90's point and click game.

Lotr and the hobbit are literally kid flicks m8

I honestly don't see what's embarrassing about it. And I am DCEU guy, Snyder for the win and Doctor Strange's cape effect in Hospital's toilet scene (when he looked in the mirror) looked so horrible I can't imagine how much of shekels Disney paid for it being nominated for an Oscar Best Effects (and with Jungle Book as the winner, who had same quality of CGi as Star Wars prequels, which came 10 years fucking ago).

Does it look bad because of Iron Man suit unnatural proportions? Or because of city on background?

something literally clips thru the wall near the second light

BRAVO HACKSON

What is that?

A better film trying desperately to see the light of day.

Yep. They're based on children's books.

>Does it look bad because of Iron Man suit unnatural proportions? Or because of city on background?
Yes, also visibly different textures for the upfront part and the backgrounds. And the general "looks like shit" feeling to it as well

it's not the same without the wheat and hat

more like a decent plot

good thing that was cut from the movie.

Characters aren't that great either

> "Tolkien has become a monster, devoured by his own popularity and absorbed by the absurdity of our time," Christopher Tolkien observes sadly. "The chasm between the beauty and seriousness of the work, and what it has become, has gone too far for me. Such commercialisation has reduced the esthetic and philosophical impact of this creation to nothing. There is only one solution for me: turning my head away."

good characters require good actors and Ewan McGregor cannot play everyone. inb4 Fargo

aged like brandy

>bullet_time.webm

Davy Jones is probably the only CGI that doesnt age, I dont know who is responsible for that but he should get an oscar. The rest ages like everything else.

To be fair, it is not unusual for trailers to have lacking CGI quality, as often times they are hastily put together with unfinished assets.

I remember watching Matrix 3 in the cinema, and when the machines finally broke into Zion and the mechs started to engage them, i was totally floored.
At that moment I thought to myself "this is it! this is the moment when CGI has passed the uncanny valley!".
To be honest, I havent seen it in many years so I have no idea how it holds up today, but at that time it looked perfect.

Looks like fucking shit. Fairly representative of that whole franchise.

this. I really dont get it when ppl praise MII or MIII for CGI. Too much CGI and too much of shitty CGI

>GREEN SCREENS
Dude, they literally built the entire bridge. The only green screen used is for behind the windows.

Didn't he hate his Dad and his Dad's work too?

Youtube compresses videos, which makes movie trailers look weird on Youtube.

DELET

>CGI

...

chris pine and the villain guy will be the only redeeming things in that movie

Lost in space with Joey from Friends.

youtube.com/watch?v=o4i8UYUpAKQ
words fail me

>ywn see Feanor solo 9 fucking Balrogs

10/10 stopmotion kino, not realistic but it is aesthetic

Is this a leak from Wonder Woman?

>BvsS thread?

holy shit that's disgusting

>lost in space
>godzilla
>the phantom menace
>ants
>bugs
>small soldiers
whenever I went to the cinema in the late 90s I watched some shitty

I think you're thinking of the Winnie the Pooh guy.

I love the attention to detail with the paint buckets having the actual colors he was using
